The first camp of the 2023 campaign starts this weekend in Tennessee w/ our Winter Showcase and we have your full in-depth preview breakdown right here!!

Even though the 2022 football year just concluded last weekend, we are already headed into the offseason as the grind kicks off this weekend in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the Prep Redzone Winter Showcase Combine and Evaluation.

More than 100 prospects are expected to be in attendance, which is a great showing freshly out of the football season, so plenty of talent should be on hand!

Below we provide you a quick breakdown and overview on what to expect and who to see at this weekend's Showcase and which guys you should pay attention to that have a future on the next level.

Offense

- The deepest position group we have for this weekend on offense are the quarterbacks and it's a talented crop with several future college players. The headliner for the quarterbacks is junior [player_tooltip player_id='258673' first='Aidan' last='Glover'] from Collierville. This guy has all the physical traits and arm talent you look for in a college quarterback and it's just a matter of time before his recruitment explodes.

Behind him is a 2025 signal caller that already possesses a few D1 offers and that's Greenwood (Ky) sophomore quarterback Ryan Huff. Standing 6'3 and almost 200 pounds, Huff has the skill set to become the top 2025 passer in his home state sooner than later.

Representing the Volunteer State, several quarterbacks peak my interest as they have talents that can be translated into the college game. Among the guys to watch out for include [player_tooltip player_id='288620' first='Ty' last='Collins'] (Nolensville), [player_tooltip player_id='148903' first='Mccoy' last='Pugh'] (Millington), [player_tooltip player_id='148875' first='Corbin' last='Cannon'] (Greeneville), [player_tooltip player_id='390592' first='Carter' last='Daniel'] (Loretto), [player_tooltip player_id='279487' first='Caleb' last='Sams'] (Hendersonville), [player_tooltip player_id='279486' first='Sam' last='Evitts'] (Sequatchie Co.), [player_tooltip player_id='279488' first='Kam' last='Alexander'] (Bartlett) and a guy who could be the top passer in the 2026 class in [player_tooltip player_id='353896' first='Jackson' last='Stroup'] from University of Jackson School.

We will also have a key senior to pay attention to in attendance and that's [player_tooltip player_id='102204' first='Devon' last='Crenshaw'] from Springfield. This big, burly passer is looking for more work to continue his progression as a quarterback and hopes to turn some heads this weekend, which might lead to more offers.

The skill positions on offense isn't as deep but it definitely has some guys to know about with big time abilities. Sitting at running back, Whitehaven junior [player_tooltip player_id='540019' first='Eli' last='Phillips'] is a guy I have my eye on as he could step into the role as starter next year for the Tigers and someone that could boost his recruiting stock this offseason. Three others that will be there Sunday to watch are [player_tooltip player_id='344645' first='Harrison' last='Edwards'] (Mt. Juliet), [player_tooltip player_id='540027' first='Josiah' last='Featherstone'] (Red Bank) and [player_tooltip player_id='540047' first='Seth' last='Hackney'] from Portland.

For the receivers, we have an interesting crop of guys performing at camp that many may not know about right now but will in due time. The two guys who jump out on the page for me is junior [player_tooltip player_id='446635' first='Shawne' last='Jones'] from Houston and Memp. Central rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='461255' first='Yasir' last='Muhammad']. These two West Tennessee products have physical traits that college coaches like, especially Jones with his size and hands and Muahmmad with his athleticism and speed.

Three other receivers who stand out on the prospect list for me are [player_tooltip player_id='408917' first='Maclean' last='Copeland'] (Page), [player_tooltip player_id='540017' first='Derrick' last='Miller'] (Houston) and [player_tooltip player_id='402544' first='Hunter' last='Mullen'] from Independence. All three guys can run and bring athletic traits to the position with Miller having the upside to play either side of the ball.

Two tight ends to mention that will be at Oakland High School on Sunday are junior [player_tooltip player_id='433154' first='Bladen' last='Depriest'] from Milan and Knox. Halls rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='219379' first='Drew' last='Ross'].

Moving down into the trenches on the offensive line, this is a lite group for the Winter Showcase this time around but we have some interesting prospects to watch in camp. Three juniors to know about and keep watch this weekend are [player_tooltip player_id='155476' first='Zeke' last='Taylor'] from Briarcrest Christian and Knox. Catholic teammates [player_tooltip player_id='417869' first='Dominic' last='Clifford'] and [player_tooltip player_id='250843' first='Andon' last='Mashburn']. Taylor sits as a fringe D1 guy at the moment and an interior mauler who could improve his stock this offseason. Clifford could develop himself into one of the best center prospects in the state while Mashburn is a big boy that punishes opponents with his run blocking.

A few other talented O-linemen that will be in attendance to follow are [player_tooltip player_id='372276' first='Austin' last='Williams'] (Gibson Co.), [player_tooltip player_id='301370' first='Mykel' last='Slusher'] (William Blount), [player_tooltip player_id='240021' first='Isaiah' last='Tisor'] (David Crockett), [player_tooltip player_id='466287' first='Alex' last='Boyd'] (Maryville), [player_tooltip player_id='323140' first='Brady' last='Smith'] (CPA), [player_tooltip player_id='309132' first='Cason' last='Agnew'] (Stewarts Creek) and Briarcrest freshman [player_tooltip player_id='425182' first='Andre' last='Amos'], Jr.

Defense

- Before we dive deep into the defensive prospects, one guy to mention that is listed as a tight end but might have more upside at linebacker is Cannon Co. junior [player_tooltip player_id='445122' first='Tucker' last='Kyne']. This 6'4 215 pound two-way talent is athletic with great size along with some serious bend as an edge rusher, so it will be interesting to see if he competes on just offense or goes both ways, showing off the athletic upside.

Looking over the entire crop of defenders for Sunday, we got some serious talent that will be on hand. Beginning in the trenches, senior lineman [player_tooltip player_id='540038' first='Micah' last='Daniels'] leads the way as one of the handful of upperclassmen who could boost his stock this weekend.

The junior class from the D-line will be well represented in Murfreesboro this weekend with [player_tooltip player_id='149385' first='Mason' last='Ball'] (Elizabethton), [player_tooltip player_id='1067315' first='Elijah' last='Bradley'] (Oak Ridge) and [player_tooltip player_id='361241' first='Chase' last='McConnell'] from Watertown headlining the group. Ball is one guy who could really boost his stock further as he is already on the cusp of adding D1 offers and a strong performance this weekend could force those offers to come his way.

Besides the juniors that will be in attendance, we have a strong group of underclassmen headed to the Middle Tennessee area this weekend as well. Some of the top names to keep an eye on at camp include [player_tooltip player_id='250859' first='Atticus' last='Fiorita'] (Mt. Juliet), [player_tooltip player_id='219418' first='Garrett' last='Hagan'] and [player_tooltip player_id='362010' first='Kedrick' last='Donald'] from Houston, [player_tooltip player_id='219378' first='Connor' last='Coffman'] (Page), Kamar Houston, who comes from Oxford, Mississippi and stud freshman [player_tooltip player_id='284144' first='Carson' last='Sneed'] from DCA.

Possibly the deepest position group of all from both sides of the ball will be the linebackers. We got some serious studs headed to Oakland this Sunday that will be on display and ready to boost their recruiting stocks even further.

Farragut junior [player_tooltip player_id='149382' first='Jack' last='Alley'] will be there and right now, he is considered a Top 10 in-state linebacker that has D1 abilities and upside written all over him. [player_tooltip player_id='362093' first='Cooper' last='Cameron'] from Knox. Webb is a big, physically impressive looking young man that has the size and skill set that plays up well on the next level. Two rising sophomores that we will have in attendance that will be future college players are teammates [player_tooltip player_id='219439' first='Eric' last='Hazzard'] and [player_tooltip player_id='390716' first='Brenden' last='Anes'] from Page. Both these guys are studs who had breakthrough years this past Fall season.

Besides those four, a few other standouts to keep watch on Sunday are juniors [player_tooltip player_id='258684' first='Jamarion' last='Farrior'] (South Pittsburg), [player_tooltip player_id='316781' first='Ethan' last='Kimes'] (Wilson Central), [player_tooltip player_id='328140' first='Morgan' last='Holzapfel'] (MBA) and [player_tooltip player_id='540008' first='Caden' last='Mcmahan'] from Ooltewah as well as stud freshman backer [player_tooltip player_id='540048' first='Stanley' last='Burrow'] from Freedom Prep.

Wrapping up our preview with the defensive backs, a few names immediately standout here when looking over the prospect list. The first one that jumps off the page is Briarcrest Christian junior [player_tooltip player_id='301354' first='Kollin' last='Collier']. This 6'2 long armed and athletic defender has all the potential to turn himself into a Power Five prospect this offseason and that grind starts this weekend.

Westview junior [player_tooltip player_id='150298' first='Cam' last='Davis'] is an intriguing talent that is well built physically and sports the athleticism and versatility to play on either side of the ball in college. He is listed as a DB for this combine but his talents at running back interests me the most.

It's not a deep group of defensive backs that we have this weekend but a few other guys to pay attention to are [player_tooltip player_id='372308' first='Holden' last='Day'] (Briarcrest), Kaleb Taylor from Austin, Alabama and a pair of talented freshmen in [player_tooltip player_id='540028' first='Knight' last='Wilson'] from Page and Brainered two-way talent [player_tooltip player_id='402560' first='Reggie' last='Hubbard'].

This weekend will be a great kick-off to the camp circuit and the crop of talent headed for Murfreesboro will get the jump start on their offseason grind by taking in good teaching from the Prep Redzone coaches as well as helping their recruitments with strong combine performances.
