For multiple seasons inside the Lions offensive line, Smith was a consistent leader and starter up front that might have put forth his best season yet during his team’s 2024 championship run. This future Furman Paladin was a linchpin at center that helped open consistent holes for Patterson and the Lions run game as well as hold up nicely in pass protection, keeping his quarterback clean. Opposing defensive linemen had a hard time dealing with Smith due to his technique sound blocking and tenacious, physical game play. This interior O-lineman was definitely a major piece in CPA’s title run and someone that will be hard to replace for the 2025 season.
