Chris Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
Mr. Everything for his Pirates squad on Friday afternoon, Farrior earned MVP honors after producing both touchdowns on the day that led South Pittsburg to a 14-7 win over McKenzie. The Pirates senior linebacker performed at a high level on both sides of the ball but he stepped up big time in the 4th quarter when he was tasked with running the “Wildcat” after Kamden Wellington went down with an injury. Farrior stepped into the QB role easily and became the driving force behind the Pirates Class 1A state title win as the coaching staff simply leaned on their running game to get the job done. This guy’s future on the next level will be at linebacker but his athleticism and willingness to do anything for his team to succeed should go a long way in the eyes of collegiate coaches when they come to visit him at school in the near future.

Going into his senior season, Farrior was looking for a breakout year and that’s exactly what he got as he was a consistent, standout performer on defense throughout the entire season for South Pitt, which landed him on the Mr. Football list as a semi-finalist. Adding more speed to his game along with rushing the backfield more, Farrior made a big impact this year on the 1A level as someone that was very difficult for the opposition to gain control of, let alone slow him down. His play this season has definitely boosted his recruiting stock to where I think FCS schools should take a deeper look at Farrior as a pass rushing middle linebacker with range.

For two years now, Farrior has been the leading tackler for his South Pitt team and on Sunday at the #PRZTN Winter Showcase, he showed why he is one of the top linebackers from the greater Chattanooga area. Broad shouldered with long arms and a nice frame for growth, Farrior is an active backer that displayed nice lower body movements as well as attention to detail. He took to coaching really well and got better and better as the day went on. Farrior is a true middle backer that works well against the run but shows athletic upside to eventually cover the pass just as strong, so his skill set should appeal to several college coaches across the Southern region.
