Chris Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
A multi year starter and state champion, Ball brings a lot of strong traits to the table for collegiate programs that can develop this guy into a formidable defensive end. Throughout this recruiting process Ball has picked up multiple offers, including a few from the D1 level but he sits available while holding out hope to hear from some bigger schools. The Cyclones senior defender has some schools in hot pursuit right now, especially Jacksonville St, Navy and a few others. Ball has taken some visits already and will be willing to take more next month before he makes a final decision. Look for this East TN talent to sign in February and possibly do so with a D1 program.

is an exceptional prospect for Elizabethton High School and has been super productive at defensive end. After watching the film, he is very good vs the run with the ability to win with his athletic ability to disrupt in the backfield. Ball also shows good technique and play strength to take on blocks at the point of attack. Great size and length, he is versatile to lineup inside and use his physical traits to dominate.

For one reason or another, this East Tennessee pass rusher has yet to receive college offers and it’s surprising that he hasn’t as Ball is a big dude that can bend and get after the quarterback. First thing you immediately notice when watching this guy’s film is his size and upper body radius. Ball has the look of a college guy and the build to continue packing on more weight. Sporting the size he does, Ball knows how to use that to his advantage as he can bull rush the pass blocker or use his long arms and violent hands to get into the backfield. He doesn’t have to just play with his hand in the dirt either as Ball can stand up and work the edge that way or drop into coverage. This honestly is one of the more underrated talents without an offer so far throughout the 2024 recruiting cycle that should see an increase with his recruitment over the coming months.

Ball has been a known name in the East Tennessee area for a few years now and he remains with that status as this 6 ‘5 265 pound defender has developed nicely and put himself in the mix as one of the top ten best at his position for the 2024 class. The Cyclones senior has all the physical tools you want to develop on the next level along with the deceptive athleticism to drop and cover if needed. His biggest upside is as a defensive end pass rusher that can stretch out the run game while providing pressure on the quarterback. Ball is a guy that could see his stock explode with good college camp work and continued development over the Fall months.
