Headed into the summer camp season, here at Prep RedZone Tennessee, we recently released our new #TN2024 Prospect Rankings and already it looks like a deep class with several top players ranked high with others laying under the radar. A total of 100 prospects were ranked in our spring junior rankings and by breaking down the list, each major region across the state is well represented with the Middle Tennessee area leading the way. Here we give a quick rundown on who those top players are per region along with a few notes to know going forward. New #TN2024 Prospect Rankings East Tennessee (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id="150277" first="Boo" last="Carter"] - Chatt. Christian: Ranked 1st overall - This Scenic City athlete is a dynamic playmaker that can excel anywhere on the field. Carter is a true playmaker that just needs the ball in his hands and on a consistent basis, he will find the end zone. He holds multiple strong P5 offers and will only expand on those going forward. (S) [player_tooltip player_id="270395" first="Marcus" last="Goree, Jr"] - Bradley Central: Ranked 7th overall - Bringing size, smarts and athleticism to the gridiron, Goree, Jr is a talented young man that has seen his recruiting stock expand over the last few months and could soon breakout into national status. This is the top ranked safety in the state at the moment and I don’t foresee him losing his top placement anytime soon. (WR) [player_tooltip player_id="149157" first="Brandon" last="Heyward"] - Oak Ridge: Ranked 8th overall - Heyward is as polished of a receiver that you will find in this state, regardless of classification and a player that I feel will only get better on the collegiate level. This East TN product could play outside or work the slot but it’s speed and playmaking abilities that stand out the most. (DE/LB) [player_tooltip player_id="149842" first="Carson" last="Gentle"] - McCallie: Ranked 11th overall - At the moment, Gentle is considered the top edge defender from the in-state 2024 class and a guy already positioned to find himself on the Power Five level. Gentle is a strong, versatile and smart edge guy that can rush the backfield but also drop into coverage. You want this guy on your team and in your locker room. (WR) [player_tooltip player_id="219041" first="Markeis" last="Barrett"] - Knox. Webb: Ranked 12th overall - Barrett is an interesting talent that could develop and excel on either side of the ball but I feel his upside sits best on offense where he can have the ball in his hands on a consistent basis. Holding offers from several P5 schools already, Barrett will continue to see his stock explode over the coming months as this guy is highly talented. Others Ranked Inside Top 50 - (DE/Edge) [player_tooltip player_id="207299" first="Steven" last="Soles, Jr"] - Powell: Ranked 17th overall - (LB) [player_tooltip player_id="149382" first="Jack" last="Alley"] - Farragut: Ranked 25th overall - (DT) [player_tooltip player_id="229661" first="Darrius" last="Talley"] - Chatt. Christian: Ranked 26th overall - (S) [player_tooltip player_id="149391" first="Tito" last="Williams, Jr"] - Bradley Central: Ranked 27th overall - (WR) [player_tooltip player_id="149163" first="Carlos" last="Orr"] - Gatlinburg-Pittman: Ranked 31st overall - (DE/Edge) [player_tooltip player_id="301377" first="C.J." last="Smith"] - Knox. West: Ranked 38th overall - (S) [player_tooltip player_id="205153" first="Brody" last="Blankenship"] - Carter: Ranked 40th overall - (LB) [player_tooltip player_id="308781" first="Philippe" last="Bouthot"] - McCallie: Ranked 42nd overall - (DB) [player_tooltip player_id="207309" first="Joshua" last="Hampton"] - Baylor: Ranked 43rd overall - (RB) [player_tooltip player_id="150272" first="Omarian" last="Mills"] - Jefferson Co.: Ranked 44th overall Middle Tennessee (DB) [player_tooltip player_id="149389" first="Kaleb" last="Beasley"] - Lipscomb Acad.: Ranked 2nd overall - A national recruit with his share of top level offers, Beasley is an elite talent that could develop into a lockdown cornerback but only if he continues to mature and develop in the right ways. He sports great size, length and fluid body movements that collegiate love having on the boundary. (WR) [player_tooltip player_id="149166" first="Ondre" last="Evans"] - CPA: Ranked 3rd overall - Evans brings a lot of athletic traits to the football field that play up well on the next level. He can run, use his size to his advantage or line up in a variety of ways on offense, presenting the opposing defense a multitude of problems. Coaches have taken notice of Evans and I expect tons of offers to float his way soon. (LB) [player_tooltip player_id="150276" first="Edwin" last="Spillman"] - Lipscomb Acad.: Ranked 4th overall - College coaches have been all over this Mustangs linebacker for quite some time now as Spillman has all the tools to compete at a high level inside the college game. He has great size and arm length along with the athleticism and range to track down and make a play on the ball anywhere on the field. (T/G) [player_tooltip player_id="149171" first="Ronan" last="O’Connell"] - Page: Ranked 6th overall - This guy is blowing up right now and positioning himself as possibly one of the top tackle prospects from the entire 2024 recruiting class. O’Connell is a big dude that moves very well. He has the chops to excel at tackle or slide inside to guard and dominate that position. Look out for this guy going forward! (LB) [player_tooltip player_id="149383" first="Mason" last="Curtis"] - Ensworth: Ranked 9th overall - Finding coverage linebackers is a premium target for collegiate coaches these days and Curtis is the top guy at doing that in this state for the ‘24 class. He does need to keep adding weight to his frame but the physical traits and athleticism are there to develop into a high producing linebacker on the next level. Others Ranked Inside Top 50 - (DL) [player_tooltip player_id="149168" first="Hank" last="Weber"] - Brentwood Acad.: Ranked 13th overall - (QB) [player_tooltip player_id="148864" first="Cody" last="Pagach"] - Independence: Ranked 14th overall - (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id="222283" first="Jaheim" last="Merriweather"] - Gallatin: Ranked 15th overall - (QB) [player_tooltip player_id="119096" first="Braden" last="Graham"] - Riverdale: Ranked 19th overall - (T/G) [player_tooltip player_id="149856" first="John" last="Wayne Oliver"] - CPA: Ranked 21st overall - (DB) [player_tooltip player_id="149390" first="Jaylen" last="Thompson"] - Riverdale: Ranked 24th overall - (T/G) [player_tooltip player_id="277659" first="Jesse" last="Perry"] - MTCS: Ranked 28th overall - (WR) [player_tooltip player_id="193750" first="D’Arious" last="Reed"] - Pearl Cohn: Ranked 29th overall - (S) [player_tooltip player_id="152933" first="Stephen" last="Ellison"] - Oakland: Ranked 30th overall - (G/C) [player_tooltip player_id="258681" first="Jake" last="Riggs"] - Oakland: Ranked 32nd overall - (LB) [player_tooltip player_id="278377" first="Korey" last="Smith"] - Oakland: Ranked 33rd overall - (DB) [player_tooltip player_id="289545" first="Nigel" last="Maynard"] - Stewarts Creek: Ranked 36th overall - (LB) [player_tooltip player_id="228694" first="Crews" last="Law"] - CPA: Ranked 37th overall - (T/G) [player_tooltip player_id="149181" first="Andrew" last="Pedersen"] - Brentwood Acad.: Ranked 39th overall - (DB) [player_tooltip player_id="286599" first="Keshawn" last="Williams"] - Riverdale: Ranked 46th overall - (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id="150300" first="Kofi" last="Boggs"] - Centennial: Ranked 50th overall West Tennessee (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id="207328" first="Kumaro" last="Brown"] - M.A.H.S.: Ranked 5th overall - Brown represents West TN currently as the area’s top college prospect but he must continue working and developing to maintain this spot at the top. This is a talented guy with size, length and the versatility to excel on either side of the ball. His upside might sit best on defense inside the secondary. (DE) [player_tooltip player_id="149317" first="Kavion" last="Benton"] - Wooddale: Ranked 10th overall - Powerful with explosive traits and long arms, Benton is a physical specimen that screams college upside and potential and someone that can develop into a dominating pass rusher on the next level. This West TN product has obtained a few offers thus far but his talents warrant more and I think they will be arriving very soon. (T/G) [player_tooltip player_id="149188" first="Luke" last="Work"] - Lausanne: Ranked 16th overall - If you’re looking for a tackle prospect that loves to make contact and has the athleticism to protect the blind side, Work is your guy! The Lynx junior O-lineman shows on film nice lower body movements and the arm length to keep defenders at bay. Look for Work to add plenty of big offers over the coming months. (WR) [player_tooltip player_id="239443" first="Jordan" last="Ward"] - Kingsbury: Ranked 18th overall - Ward has exploded onto the recruiting scene this offseason with offers from the likes of Kentucky, Ole Miss and others. Tall and long with a big, wide radius, Ward is imposing wideout that shows nice speed and the ability to be a deep threat or a guy that can be a key target in the red zone. (DB) [player_tooltip player_id="301354" first="Kollin" last="Collier"] - Briarcrest Chrst.: Ranked 20th overall - Many around the country may not know about Collier right now but this is a talented young man with tons of upside to develop into a lockdown cover corner on the next level.
