On Monday, we updated our 2024 rankings and released the Top 50. We saw plenty of new names in the rankings and plenty of prospects who soared up the rankings as stock risers. However, the top five remained the same in the recent update. While we did see a shuffle in the top five, the prospects remain the same as last update. Beggs running Back Red Martel Red Martel 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Beggs | 2024 State OK , Booker T Washington standout Issac Covington Issac Covington 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Union | 2024 State OK , Del City defensive lineman David Stone David Stone 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL Bradenton IMG Academy | 2024 State FL , Elmore City defensive back Damontre Patterson Damontre Patterson 5'10" | 145 lbs | WR Sulphur | 2024 State OK and Norman tight end Cooper Alexander Cooper Alexander 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE Washington | 2024 State OK were the top five in the last update and that remains the same this month. Check out the complete 2024 Top 50 Rankings RIGHT HERE. For now, let’s take a look at the top five prospects who have been the elite of the class from the start.

– Tight End – Norman
Ranked #4 Overall
Norman tight end Cooper Alexander Cooper Alexander 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE Washington | 2024 State OK certainly looks the part already physically. We were excited to see what kind of sophomore season he would have this fall but the Tigers have certainly been a run-first team throughout the season. Alexander hasn’t been able to really showcase his talent as a pass-catcher this season because of the needs of the team coming first. However, he has plenty of proof that he can be an extension of the offensive line and help block for the running game. Norman has been one of the best rushing teams in Oklahoma this season, regardless of class. Having a big physical tight end that can help that running game out has certainly benefitted Norman this season. We can’t wait to see how this growth helps Alexander moving forward and we know that he’s only showcasing some of what could make him one of the top overall tight ends in this part of the country for the 2024 class.
Damontre Patterson

– Defensive Back – Elmore City
Ranked #5 Overall
You might be reading this and be thinking “Elmore City?” But Patterson immediately got on our radar throughout the offseason after watching him during 7v7 tournaments and then again when he showed up and showed out at our Showcase Camp in June. Elmore City is without a doubt the smallest program among the five listed here. But if you haven’t been paying attention, Patterson and Elmore City is undefeated and the defense has been one of the stronger units in Class A. They’ve had three consecutive shutouts and have given up a total of 22 points all season. Patterson is an excellent cornerback and is only going to continue to get better as he gets bigger. He still has room to grow physically, but even right now, he holds his own exceptionally well in 1 on 1 situations and can not only lock down his opponent, but he’s also a ball hawk and can make plays at the cornerback position.
David Stone

– Defensive Lineman – Del City
Ranked #1 Overall
It’s been very clear that Del City’s David Stone David Stone 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL Bradenton IMG Academy | 2024 State FL is the top overall prospect in the state’s 2024 class. Despite being a freshman in the spring, Stone was dominant during camps, going against some of the best offensive linemen in this part of the country. So far this season, Stone has continued that dominance throughout the fall and he’s a big reason why Del City is a serious threat in Class 6A-2. The Del City standout is widely considered not only the top prospect in Oklahoma but he’s considered one of the top overall prospects in the country. He has countless offers, he’s already considered an All American and he has reporters making comparisons to guys like Gerald McCoy as far as defensive linemen that have come out of Oklahoma. Stone is just a sophomore but he already has a ton of accolades behind his name. He has a tight grip on the top spot in the 2024 class and it’ll take a lot to knock him off.
Issac Covington

– Athlete – Booker T Washington
Ranked #3 Overall
Booker T Washington is full of standout athletes and one of the best young athletes is Issac Covington Issac Covington 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Union | 2024 State OK . We saw plenty of Covington throughout the offseason and then early on with the Hornets. When we saw him in person this fall, Covington was being used as the swiss army knife for the Hornets on offense and defense. Wherever they needed him to play, that’s where he was playing and we love that kind of versatility from such a young prospect. Covington has seen reps at running back and a variety of positions on the defensive side of the ball. On that Hornet defense, he’s surrounded by 2022 and 2023 stars who are big names in their class. Well, Covington is making quite the name for himself and the Hornets currently have a top five prospect in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes. The overall numbers might be down for Booker T Washington, but the top-level talent is still there.
Red Martel

– Running Back – Beggs
Ranked #2 Overall
One prospect that jumped up was Beggs running back Red Martel Red Martel 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Beggs | 2024 State OK as he moved into the #2 spot as the second best overall prospect behind Stone at Del City. Martel had an excellent freshman season last year and has only continued that this season. Martel is one part of a nasty two-headed monster at Beggs with OSU commit and 2022 running back CJ Brown CJ Brown 6'1" | RB Beggs | 2022 State OK . Those two have Beggs as one of the top teams in Class 2A and as a legitimate state championship contender. The one time that I saw Beggs in person, Martel has a great blend of strength and speed because he’s nearly impossible to bring down in a 1 on 1 situation. Martel’s strength certainly comes from his lower body. His legs are tree trunks and because of that, he might have the perception that he is just a power back but he has plenty of home run plays that show he can get into the open field and break the long run for a touchdown.
