The Prep Redzone High School Combine series continued this weekend in Oklahoma and high school standouts brought it on Saturday. We had some outstanding talent all across the state of Oklahoma and even some of the surrounding states. We’ll have a ton of coverage from the event dropping on Prep Redzone! In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on the tight end and wide receiver positions. We had another great group of standouts this weekend and they all brought something different to the table. Missouri 2025 wide receiver Devin Holt was covered earlier this week in our positional MVP article.
It feels like every breakdown we write, one of the themes centers around the players that we didn’t know much about coming into the weekend. That was the case with our first two prospects on this breakdown. Pawnee 2026 tight end Aiden Jones Aiden Jones 6’2″ | TE Pawnee | 2026 OK really impressed us when it was time to get to work with drills and then into one on one competition. Jones had really good hands and there weren’t too many other tight ends that were out there this weekend and had a better showing. He has a strong frame to go along with those sure-hands. Jones is a small school talent that was not on our radar coming into the camp on Saturday but he will be moving forward.
The other name on this breakdown that we didn’t know much about was 2025 wide receiver Ben Patkowski Ben Patkowski 5’10” | WR Mustang | 2025 OK out of Mustang. Patkowski immediately caught our attention right from the start during the testing. He tested really well and was routinely one of the fastest in his group. And then we got to see the Mustang product go to work during drills and competition and he continued to pass the eye test. It will be interesting to see how productive he is this fall because Mustang has some real talent returning on the offensive side of the ball. If they can find a way to work him into more of a role within the offense, he could end up being one of the hidden gems in 6A-1 football.
We have three straight 2027 prospects coming up and the first is one of the more intriguing prospects that was at our camp on Saturday. Tight end (or hybrid receiver, either one) Braxton Daniel Braxton Daniel 6’3″ | 185 lbs | TE Jenks | 2027 State OK recently announced that he was moving from Booker T Washington to Jenks and he’s joining an offense that could be one of the top units in 6A-1 this fall. Daniel has had a very busy offseason between basketball and 7v7 football and he came out looking for more competition on Saturday. He had a good day and we will definitely have our eyes on him this spring. The only question we had with him as a prospect is where does he end up fitting from a position standpoint.

Get used to hearing the name Cooper Hooker Cooper Hooker 5’10” | 145 lbs | WR Salina | 2027 State OK out of Salina because there’s a solid chance he’s one of the more productive players in the state, regardless of class, over the next three years. And we realize that’s a massive statement but we’ve seen enough on film and in person this offseason to go all in on that thought. Hooker has been so consistent every single time we’ve seen him and you never have to worry about him making a bad play. On Saturday, Hooker was part of a very impressive wide receiver group and he continued to stand out. The coaches in attendance remarked about the consistency of his play and there’s no doubt he was one of the best receivers there.

There’s no other way to slice it, Stillwater might have had the best day of any program in the state at our two camps on Saturday. The Pioneers had two of our MVP selections from the PRZ-Next camp and then they had multiple standouts during the high school camp. 2027 wide receiver Deakon Jones Deakon Jones 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Stillwater | 2027 State OK was the easy pick for at least one standout spot coming into the camp. He, like Hooker, had a breakout season last fall as the Pioneers made it all the way to the championship game. On an offense full of seniors, Jones cracked the lineup and was productive. In the camp setting on Saturday, Jones again showed why he’s already considered one of the best in the 2027 class.
Yukon wide receiver Kenison Rogers Kenison Rogers 6’0″ | 175 lbs | WR Yukon | 2025 State OK took the first steps towards becoming one of 6A-1’s best receivers last season. He had a breakout 2023 campaign and he’s hungry for more as we head into the spring and summer months. Rogers was incredibly productive last fall so he’s in a similar boat to Hooker and Jones where we were fired up to watch him in person for the afternoon in a camp setting. Rogers did a very good job and he passed every eye test imaginable. He would end up earning his way into the “best on best” competition at the end of the camp and he was consistently one of the top performers in attendance, regardless of position. He should have a big 2024 season.
