Howard is committed to play baseball at Louisville but could easily be a Power 5 tight end if he were to have a sudden change of heart

He has shown the ability to run routes like a receiver and pose as a deep threat down the seam. Howard also has shown the ability to turn up the field and use his speed to pick up extra yards after the catch. I also liked what I saw from Howard as a blocker as he showed the ability to get out in the open field as a lead blocker and pick up blocks in open space. Once he got to his man, he did a great job of running his feet through contact to drive them out of the play. Thomas is committed to play baseball at Louisville but he could very easily be a Power 5 tight end if he were to have a sudden change of heart.

He has shown the ability to create movement off the line of scrimmage as a blocker and also get out into the open field and pave the way as a lead blocker. Howard also showed some promise in the passing game, finishing the playoffs with eight catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. Thomas is committed to play baseball at Louisville but could definitely play football at the next level if he had a sudden change of heart as he received some Power 5 offers and interest as a tight end.

In the passing game, Howard has the speed to attack the seam in the deep passing game and has very reliable hands. He also has shown the ability to run routes like a receiver. After the catch, Howard has the speed to get up the field to pick up extra yards and uses his strength to break tackles. I also really like his ability as a blocker in the run game. Howard has been used as a lead blocker in the run game and he does a great job of picking up blocks in open space and driving his man out of the picture. While he has already signed to play baseball at Louisville, Howard definitely could’ve played football at the Power 5 level if he had chosen to go that route.
