Maddox Jones Maddox Jones 6'3" | 195 lbs | EDGE Frederick Douglass | 2027 State KY passes the look test, especially after bumping up to 217 pounds ahead of a pivotal senior campaign. While he played a limited role on the field because of the lopsided score, he played fast and physical as his defense held Tates Creek to 0.94 yards per play in the first half (17 yards, 18 plays). Last week against DuPont Manual, Jones recorded a sack and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Those two plays showcased his agility in the open field — chasing the quarterback down while he was rolling out and later scooping the ball off the ground before gliding into the end zone.

Maddox Jones Maddox Jones 6'3" | 195 lbs | EDGE Frederick Douglass | 2027 State KY recently jumped onto our radar with some impressive junior year film. Jones lines up as a stand-up defensive end/outside linebacker off the edge where he is very reliable against the run. He does a great job of reading the play effectively and showing the patience to see where the ball is going before flying to the football. Once he sees where the ball is going, Jones has shown the speed to get to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency. He is a very good tackler in the open field, finishing this past season with 34 tackles in 13 games. Maddox currently holds an offer from Southern Mississippi and he is an intriguing prospect who I expect to gain a lot of attention heading into his senior year.
