Not only is Ty Bryant Ty Bryant 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Frederick Douglass | 2023 State KY the top ATH in the class of 2023, he is also our second ranked overall player in the state of Kentucky. Bryant had a tremendous senior year, helping lead Frederick Douglass to their first 5A State Championship victory. While his stats or deceiving due to limited snaps in blowout victories throughout the season, Bryant produced at a high rate when on the field. On defense, Bryant lined up at safety and finished the year with 22 tackles, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two interceptions. He is a ballhawk on the back end of the secondary, reading the quarterback and covering a ton of ground to make a play on the ball. Bryant times his breaks perfectly to defend the pass before the receiver has a chance to catch it. He also does a great job against the run, filling the lane and making tackles in the open field. Bryant also played a key role on offense at running back, showing great vision with the ability to run away from the defense and make defenders miss in the open field. He finished the season with 64 carries for 498 yards and 12 touchdown. Bryant also proved to be a dangerous play maker on special teams, returning three punts for touchdowns this season. His play in the 5A State Championship Game earned him MVP honors. Bryant is committed to Kentucky where I see him becoming a key part of their secondary.

Bryant is a dominant safety on defense where I believe to be his strength. He didn’t get to play as much as other players throughout the state due to starters being sat early in most games during blowout wins but he still made an impact when on the field, finishing his senior year with 22 tackles, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two interceptions. Bryant is a ball hawk on the back end, doing a great job of reading the play and covering a ton of ground when the ball is in the air. He times his breaks on the ball perfectly and has the ball skills to catch interceptions in stride. Bryant also made a big impact on offense as a running back, showing great vision, strength, speed, and elusiveness in the open field as a ball carrier. Over the past couple seasons, Ty Bryant Ty Bryant 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Frederick Douglass | 2023 State KY has established himself as one of the best players in the entire state. He continued to lead his team and stepped up in big moments this past Friday. On offense, Bryant was one of three main running backs featured in the Broncos’ offense and was the back that they leaned on down the stretch. He showed that he is tough to bring down as he has the strength to keep his legs churning to break tackles without breaking stride. Once he hits the open field, Bryant showed that he has the ability to make defenders miss and the speed to simply run away from the defense. He finished the game with 14 carries for 104 yards and a long touchdown run that sealed the victory for the Broncos. Bryant also continued to impress on defense at safety, doing a great job of communicating before the snap and filling the lane against the run, finishing the game with three tackles. Ty Bryant Ty Bryant 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Frederick Douglass | 2023 State KY has truly established himself as one of the best players in the state over the past few seasons. We had him as our fifth overall player in the class of 2023 and he has continued to live up to the hype. His stats for this season are deceiving as most of the Broncos’ games have been blowout victories in which the starters were pulled at halftime. However, he has taken advantage of his opportunities that he has been given. In the time he has played, Bryant has accounted for 22 carries for 206 yards and nine touchdowns as a running back while accounting for ten tackles, two tackles for loss, and an interception on defense. As a ball carrier, he shows great vision and comes downhill in a hurry once the running lane opens. He also has tremendous speed and elusiveness in the open field which he uses to break off on long runs at any given moment. While he is great on offense, I believe he will be best suited on defense at the next level as he is a very talented safety. Bryant is a true ball hawk on the backend with the ability to read the throw and cover ground in a hurry to make a play on the ball. He shows tremendous ball skills, catching the ball at its highest point and has shown the ability to return interceptions for touchdowns as well. Bryant is also a very sound and physical tackler in the open field, filling the lane to provide support against the run. Ty also has shown special teams value, returning three punts for touchdowns this season. Bryant is committed to stay at home and play at the University of Kentucky where I expect him to develop into a key player for them.
