About Jaylen
Expert Analysis
Will Helms | Prep Redzone Scout
Himes is surrounded by high-Power Four talent at Providence Day and still stands out. He doesn’t play like a smaller receiver and has great length. His strength is evident as he’s able to shake off tacklers and pick up yards after the catch. He plays like a running back with ball skills and route-running ability, and that makes him dangerous.

After missing some time earlier this season, Jaylen had a huge game catching the football for the West Team. Jaylen was the leading receiver for the game with 8 catches for 103 yards. He worked a variety of routes with two different quarterbacks, running excellent routes and showing strong hands all game long. Jaylen was the best receiver on the field and deserves some real recruiting attention as a slot receiver on the next level.

Playing for a very talented and well-coached Providence Day team, Jaylen runs excellent routes and displays a high football IQ. Jaylen projects as a slot receiver on the next level, but he can line up outside if necessary. Jaylen shows very good speed in and out of his breaks and catches the ball well. Jaylen has an offer from Marshall University. Jaylen came on strong mid-season and helped lead the Chargers to the State Championship Game, where he played well individually in aiding Providence Day to score 39 points.
