Smith plays with a very high motor which he uses to run sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field before the ball carrier can get going. He finished the season with a team-leading 103 tackles along with five tackles for loss in 12 games. Smith also showed the ability to make plays against the pass, both as a rusher and in coverage, finishing the season with four sacks and two interceptions. Jacob signed to join his brother at Kentucky where the two of them could be a very dangerous duo on their defensive front in the future.

He also has shown the ability to pose as a threat against the pass, both as a pass rusher and in coverage. Jacob finished the regular season with three sacks and two interceptions. Smith is committed to Kentucky where I can see him becoming a key piece of their defense once he gets there.

He played a key role in Corbin’s shutout win over Perry County Central. Smith lined up off the edge at defensive end and was very impressive against the run. He showed the ability to read the run and get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make tackles, leading the team with 11 total tackles along with one tackle for loss and a forced fumble. Jacob also showed the ability to rush the passer, finishing the game with two sacks. Smith is committed to Kentucky where I can see him developing into a key piece of their defense once he gets there.

He has also been a force against the pass both as a rusher and in coverage, coming away with one sack and two interceptions so far. Jacob is currently committed to Kentucky where I can see him developing into a key piece of their defense eventually.

Smith played a key role in Corbin’s close win over Frederick Douglass. He was very disruptive off the edge against the run, using his speed to get to the ball carrier and finishing with a ton of physicality once he got there. Smith finished the game with ten tackles and two tackles for loss. He also made a huge play in pass coverage, coming away with an interception. Along with his brother Jerod, Jacob announced after the game that he was flipping his commitment to Kentucky where I can see him developing into a key piece of their defense once he gets there.

Since transferring to Corbin this past off-season, Jacob Smith Jacob Smith 6'4" | 225 lbs | DL Corbin | 2024 State KY has established himself as one of the top players in the state. He continued to impress this past week, helping lead Corbin to a win over Pulaski County. Smith lined up as a stand-up outside linebacker/defensive end where he was dominant against the run, finishing the game with 19 tackles. He plays with a very high motor, showing the ability to run sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he finishes his tackles with a ton of physicality. Smith is also a dangerous pass rusher, using his combination of strength and speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles. Jacob is committed to Michigan where I can see him developing into a key piece of their defense once he gets there.
