Expert Analysis
Kevin Spencer | Prep Redzone Scout
Spencer (DE) showed the tools of a highly disciplined and physical edge defender, making a major impact against the run throughout the game. He played with good leverage, maintained outside contain, and consistently set a firm edge that forced ball carriers back inside. Spencer wasted no time making his presence felt, recording an 8-yard tackle for loss on the opening defensive snap to establish the tone for the defense. He finished with five tackles and a tackle for loss, displayed an active motor and the ability to read plays quickly. His combination of toughness, run-stopping ability, and constant effort made him a valuable piece of the defensive front. Definitely one to keep your eye on at the next level.

Read EvaluationKevin Spencer | Prep Redzone Scout
Spencer of Corbin, Kentucky, is quickly becoming one of the most imposing defensive prospects in his class. Standing 6’5″ and 215 pounds with an incredible 80-inch wingspan, Spencer presents a nightmare matchup for opposing offenses, making it extremely difficult for blockers to get clean angles on him. He appears to have added nearly 25 pounds of muscle in just a few months since winning the State Championship with Corbin 8th grade, showing some apparent dedication in the weight room. His explosive first step off the edge, combined with violent and active hands, allows him to consistently create separation and disrupt plays in the backfield. It’s no surprise that those tools helped earn him Defensive Player of the Game honors at the KYMSFA All-Star Game. Expect Spencer to be a dominant, shutdown presence on the edge for Kentucky Future Stars.
- 2X Kentucky Future Stars Team Selection
- KYMSFA Regional POY Honorable Mention Team

. Spencer wasn’t a starter for the 7th Grade Kentucky Future Stars but had a nice afternoon as an Edge when he got his opportunities. In limited reps, Spencer did a pretty good job of not letting plays get outside of his far shoulder. He (unofficially) finished with three stops in the game.

. Spencer was a Region 4 selection for the KYMSFA Battle of the Regions tournament, and while he was not a starter in that game, he did pass the eye-test during pre-game. He looked strong, with lean muscle mass on a long frame. He’s built very similarly to his 7th Grade Kentucky Future Stars teammate,
