Carter Stewart Carter Stewart 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Corbin | 2024 State KY is a quick and athletically talented wide receiver prospect who can create lots of problems for the opposing secondary. Stewart, a 6’0 180lb 2024 grad from Corbin High School had an excellent 2022 season as he recorded 53 receptions for 1,065 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns in 15 games played (20.1 receiving yards per catch; 71 receiving yards per game). What makes Carter so special as a receiver is how easy he makes it look to get past the opposing defensive back and make an acrobatic catch to score a touchdown. Not only has Carter done this numerous times, but it is also a very common outcome every time he is receiving the pass. Stewart’s quick acceleration and strong frame enable him to get ahead of the opposing DBs and be able to make difficult grabs despite lots of initial defensive contact. When Stewart is unable to run past the secondary, he uses his extraordinarily sharp jabs to cut past them and create even more separation to receive the catch. These same traits also enable Carter to be one of the better kick returners in his state 4A class. Currently, Stewart has received interest from schools and has one official offer, but I expect more to come his way shortly.

To wrap up our top five wide receivers in the class of 2024 in the state of Kentucky, I have Carter Stewart Carter Stewart 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Corbin | 2024 State KY from Corbin. Stewart is coming off an impressive junior season in which he finished with 53 receptions for 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns. He mainly lines up on the outside where he is a very dangerous deep threat. Stewart has the speed to run by opposing defensive backs to create separation. He also does a great job of looking in passes over his shoulder and adjusting to the ball to make tough catches when necessary. Carter is also a very reliable blocker in the run game, showing the ability to drive his man out of the picture with ease. Stewart has also proven to have special teams value as a returner. While he doesn’t currently hold any offers, I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play wide receiver at the Division I level.

Few receivers in this region recently have displayed the rare combination of smooth athleticism, reliable hands and precision route running that fans encounter when watching Stewart take the field offensively. Over the course of his Redhounds’ state runner-up season in 2022, he hauled in 53 total receptions for 1,065 total yards (for an average of over 20 yards per reception) and 9 touchdowns. In addition to his offensive production, he also proves to be an exceptionally dangerous kick returner with the ball in his hands, and when called upon to block for teammates in his team’s perimeter run/screen package, he also excels. Likewise a defensive contributor at cornerback, he accumulated 22 solo tackles, 3 assists and 1 interception last season in a limited number of snaps. A versatile talent and determined competitor, Stewart displays the ability to influence and/or take over games in a wide variety of ways.

Carter Stewart Carter Stewart 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Corbin | 2024 State KY is another wide receiver that jumped onto our radar quickly this season. He had a very impressive junior year as he played a key role in Corbin’s run to the 4A State Championship Game. Stewart finished the season with 53 receptions for 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns. Carter does most of his damage on the outside where he uses his speed to run by opposing defensive backs to create separation. I also like Stewart’s ability to adjust to the ball and look passes in. On multiple occasions, he showed the ability to twist his body to make tough catches. In the deep passing game, he showed the ability to look passes in over his shoulder and catch them without breaking stride. He is also a very impressive blocker in the run game and on screens, showing the physicality to drive his defender out of the picture. Stewart also proved to be a dangerous returner on special teams, running away for multiple big returns this season. While Carter doesn’t currently hold any offers, I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to be a very productive receiver at the next level.
