An outstanding two-way difference maker for La Jolla, Diehl consistently impacts the game at both wide receiver and defensive back and projects as a player who could seamlessly transition to either side of the ball at the college level. He checks every box physically at 6’2”, 185 pounds, pairing his frame with savvy athleticism and solid all-around game speed. He flashes strong instincts and awareness, allowing him to play fast and anticipate plays before they fully develop. His ball skills stand out on both sides of the ball, highlighted by good tracking ability and natural adjustments to the football in the air. Whether attacking the ball as a receiver or breaking on passes in coverage, he shows confidence and control at the catch point. Recently signed to San Diego State over an offer from Colorado State.

The senior receiver had the lone offensive touchdown of the game on a short rushing touchdown late. Barnes was the most consistent offensive player for Sierra Canyon in the game with his ability to show separation from the stout Serra defensive back unit. He finished the game as the top receiver with seven catches for 76 yards including a 36-yard catch. Barnes doesn’t shy away from contact and is plenty versatile to use both in the passing game and running game.
