Expert Analysis
Caleb Holfoth | Prep Redzone Scout
Lozin is the top defensive line prospect in the ’26 class and the Iona Prep DT had another strong year for the Catholic Champions.
Lozin has a great build, a long wingspan, and the ideal body type to play DT at the next level. He plays with good leverage and shows some strength and punch at the point of attack. I think his tape shows consistent hand usage to shed blocks, and there is no doubt he is one of the best block shedders in the state.
He is a prospect who not only has strong tape but with his frame, he should continue to get bigger and develop as an athlete. Athletically he has one of the highest ceilings in this class of any prospect.

Lozin clearly was the top DL in the 2026 class in New York last season. Amongst a talented defensive line group at Iona Prep, Lozin’s natural strength stood out amongst other impressive Division 1 athletes.
One of the most dominant prospects in the weight room, this summer Lozin benched 225×27 and had a 720lb deadlift. Lozin shows good bend and a strong lower half where he can anchor and not be moved. A strong interior presence whose game will only get more refined.

Lozin is a player in his first season on varsity for Iona Prep and was one of the better interior DL prospects. Lozin returns as a player who can be the difference maker on the Iona Prep defense as a Junior. His raw strength, upfield burst, and quickness from the DT position are FBS caliber, and he is one of the critical factors in how successful Iona Prep will be in replacing Jaylin Hicks and Zakar Morris.

Lozin was a part of the Iona Prep defensive line group from last season that could end up with 3+ FBS football players and the youngest of the group Lozin picked up his first offers from Temple and UConn after a strong showing at the Iona Prep showday. At 6’4 290 Lozin is the ideal interior defensive lineman and his 6’8 wingspan stands out as a trait that big northeast schools will covet.

Scout Analysis: Has a large frame to work with with additional growth potential. Shows consistent effort in each rep. Once he gets his hands on you, he can finish the play. A bit of raw technique seen in his skill set but has time to grow and develop. He is a bit stiff/tight in the lower body. Has time to become more flexible with quickness in the off season, he and his recruitment will likely take off.
