. Whether he’s a QB, LB, or something else, I have a firm D3 grade on him.
Anthony did an excellent job stepping up for De La Salle this season. His passing still needs a lot of work, but man, his rushing ability was phenomenal. Defensively, he was pretty raw as a linebacker but still had a few excellent moments. Here’s my grades for Anthony at QB.
Arm Talent: C+
Accuracy: C-
Processing: C-
Playmaking: B
Athleticism: B+
Mechanics: D+

Anthony’s Week 1 performance was one for the books. Against Davison, he played all three phases and played each position very well.
At Quarterback, he came in relief and instantly sparked life into the offense. He ran the ball extremely well, demonstarting great top speed and even a bit of contact balance. We didn’t get to see him throw the ball much, but I know Anthony is a solid passer.
As the punter, Anthony had one extremely good heads-up play. I don’t know if it was designed (I didn’t think so but others thought it was), but Anthony took a bad snap and, instead of punting, scored a touchdown.

I’ve been waiting for Anthony’s breakout game for a while- and here it is. Anthony ended up being subbed in as a replacement for the starting quarterback. Very quickly, the De La Salle offense started to find a lot more success.
Nothing Anthony did was super complex- he ran the ball, and he ran it very well. Watching back the tape, Davison did a pretty poor job at outside contain, and the De La Salle receivers did a good job at blocking. Anthony did a great job of following the structure of the plays and used his demonstrated athleticism to score. On other plays, Anthony demonstrated great contact balance through arm tackles, and he has a knack for falling forward, always gaining the maximum number of yards.
Anthony also had an incredible heads-up play as the punter. There was a bad snap, and it was impossible to get the ball off (Other publications report it was a fake punt, but I thought it was 100% a botched play turned successful- if it was fake, you have me fooled!)
So, Anthony made a few guys miss and turned what would be a change in possession into De La Salle’s first touchdown of the game.
Lastly, Anthony started at Linebacker. I honestly didn’t come away super impressed by his play, but I’m not disappointed either.
I’m not sure where Anthony fits on a college roster (safety? linebacker? QB?) all I know is that he deserves opportunities at the next level- a fringe D2 guy in my opinion.

Bitonti keeps on performing extremely well in the offseason. He’s not even the starting QB for De La Salle, but has all of the athletic tools needed to be a phenomenal college football player. Across the board, his testing numbers are great, and he shows great instincts in 7on7 settings. As for passing, he can be a bit inconsistent (according to coaches I’ve talked to). That said, I’m not completely sold on him as a QB and I highly considered ranking Anthony as an ATH. It will be interesting to see how Anthony is utilized this coming season. Regardless of how he’s utilized, I view Anthony as a great GLIAC target.

Anthony looks like QB2 for De La Salle right now, but at this point, I could see him show off his skills at just about any skill position. As a Quarterback I love his versatility. He can make the throws in the pocket but he can also wreak havoc in the open field as a runner. He’s spent some time at RB last season, but I know that RB room was quite banged up last season. Whatever position he plays, I know he’s a starting-caliber player who will perform well.

My knowledge of Anthony comes from his highlight tapes and what a few coaches have told me.
Every coach (7on7 and a few DLS position coaches) who I’ve talked to rave about Anthony. I’ve heard great things about his playmaking, athletesism, arm talent, but I’ve yet to see it in person.
On film the athletic ability stands out. He has good vision and looks like good speed. Very interested to see how he tests. I am fairly confident that Anthony is at least a Division 2 prospect, whether that’s as a Quarterback or another position.
