Physicality.
Zackary is one of the most well-rounded TEs in the class, as he has a wide variety of blocking and receiving highlights. I really like how he’s utilized in the De La Salle offense.
Though if I had to choose one trait, it would be physicality. Several highlights (like 1:12) show a willingness to block and be physical. On that play in particular, he does a good job forcing the outside linebacker outside to open up the C gap. Next play, a great lead block against the same team.
Zachary is also a solid receiver. I like his route running and he does a good job of turning upfield after the catch.

Wagner is a solid receiving tight end with good hands over the middle of the field and above-average run-after-the-catch. He is also very smart with a 4.4 GPA. He also has a history of playing DE which is where his college fit might be, but we’re evaluating him as a tight end as a high school player. Positional flexibility is a huge plus.

Zack has received a ton of love as of late, having just received an offer from Eastern Michigan.
Like Ryan and Jack, I love how well-rounded Zack is. He’s a good blocker, a good receiver, and a decent athlete. Though, he isn’t elite in any specific category. Considering the level of competition in the Catholic League, Zack is as prepared as any to play Division 1 football. We’ll see how he develops, and we’ll see if he can take another step forward for his senior season.

Strengths
- All-around player
- Good blocker
- Good measurables
- Fights for extra yards
Weaknesses
- Doesn’t truly stand out in any area
- Not a two-way player
- Not as athletic as D1 prospects
Zach played well against great competition. A good lead blocker, but not excellent. I see him “run into” his defender and push him away instead of engage and truly drive the block. Zach is also an underdeveloped route runner. Sloppy routes. Doesn’t look like he knows what he’s doing besides the absolute basics of his route. I like that he fights for extra yards on his receptions, but still underdeveloped contact balance. Can be an excellent player in the GLIAC

Zackary is someone from whom I’m expecting a phenomenal season. There are a few reasons why I think he’s due. For one, I trust De La Salle more than just about any other program when it comes to development. Zackary saw the field a lot last season. Coming into this season, I expect Zackary to take his experience plus a great offseason to transform his game.
Now, about his 2023 tape. There’s only a handful of highlights here, but I really like what he showed. First, his overall receiving game is good. He served as a good checkdown option, and sometimes ran deeper routes downfield. For one, he looks athletic and he runs generally good routes. Second, Zack had decent contact balance and worked to earn extra yards. There are also some blocking highlights, which is always great to see.

I see a lot of potential in this three-sport athlete playing TE. At De La Salle, you’ve already proved plenty if you break the starting lineup. His size immediately stands out as ideal for a Tight End prospect. He shows promise in blocking and athletic ability. His blocking is already more polished than some Power 5 Tight End’s I’ve watched in the past couple years. Colleges want you to be a fierce on-ball player, and Zack is that. Playing three sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball), he’s in shape year-round and his lateral quickness shows up on tape. His twitter looks like Football is his #1 sport, and if he wants to become an elite Tight End, he needs to focus on putting on muscle and improving in the pass game.
