Expert Analysis

Campbell has the chance to be a major problem for offenses in 2026. In his film from this season, Campbell was able to cover tons of ground, and showed the ball skills to create a big play any time he’s tested. He’s quick and agile and can cut on a dime. As his body continues to mature and he sharpens his skill, he’s going to be a menace to offenses in the fall.

A very short week 1 tape (2 plays), but extremely high quality.
First, that pick-6 was great. Really nice job quickly reading the screen, exploding, and making an easy pick-6 for himself. Most DBs wouldn’t react as quickly as Jay’Ar did there.
Second play, a little showcase of his athletic ability. Good speed running down the sideline with his receiver, and a nice job breaking up the pass. I’m sure he’ll upgrade his technique throughout the season. Speed and reaction time look excellent!

A dual-sport athlete who tracks as a great DB in the Catholic League.
Currently, Jay’Ar is in the midst of track season. He just competed in regionals, running the 4×200, while also running other sprinting events at other meets. I don’t know his times/splits, but what I do know is that track sprinters who also play DB have a good track record (no pun intended). Plus, Jay’Ar has been busy visiting colleges, competing in the DLS college showcase, and I would bet he’ll be at a multitude of camps this summer.
Not sure if Jay’Ar will be a varsity player this year, and if he’s not, that’s completely ok. What matters is that Jay’Ar is putting in consistent work and showing steady improvement. I like Campbell’s odds of eventually developing into a starter with college interest.

Jay’Ar has superb lower-level highlights.
His first highlight is a 4th-quarter game-sealing interception against Detroit Catholic Central. Not much to say there other than great zone coverage, great job keeping eyes on the QB, and great job picking off that ball. Second, a great kick return TD against Chippewa Valley. I especially like seeing speed and change of direction from a DB. Then, his tape leads into a couple great tackles and one more kick return.
It’s apparent to me that Jay’Ar has the athletic ability to be a contributor at the Varsity level. The only big quesiton for him and other Watch List players is “How soon will he be able to contribute?”
In Jay’Ar’s case, as soon as he’s able to contribute on Varsity, he’ll likely earn a ranking from me as well as college looks. When you play on one of the best programs in the state in the best league in the state, eyes will be on you. I expect Jay’Ar to be a future college prospect and possibly a Varsity contributor next season.
