Petrides will be one of the defenders to watch as he is quick to read and react, making a play at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. He is a player that can fly around and takes good pursuit angels being able to rally to the ball and getting in on the tackle. He can hit home and bring the QB down, getting off of blocks quickly.

Petrides is a physical backer that excels at helping in the running game, stopping ball carriers in their tracks. He is explosive and has good eyes, using his vision to make plays. When his number is called on blitz plays, he disguises it well, getting pressure on the QB and bringing him down. He is physical at the point of contact and can play multiple gaps, scraping overtop and not getting stuck in the wash. On short yardage plays he uses his quickness to burst through the line and stops the play before it even gets started. He has the versatility to drop back into coverage and can dislodge the ball out of receivers hands. Can get to his depth and rally up to make a tackle in the open field.

Petrides is one of the best linebackers in the state and has been for the past two seasons. He is a well-rounded athlete with the versatility that allows him to line up inside or outside and defend against the run and the pass. He does an outstanding job at filling against the run and closing to the ball carrier while maintaining his leverage. His zone drops are so quick that some quarterbacks struggle to recognize the coverage at the snap, giving him ample opportunities to make plays on the ball in the air. Petrides currently holds offers from Colorado, Charlotte, Nevada, and Kansas.
