The 7v7 circuit is coming to a close this offseason and we’ve seen a lot of really good football over the last few months. From our PRZ7v7 circuit to others, we got to see some great competition and players from all over the state. This week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we’ll be taking a look at some of the top players that we got a chance to watch and break down this offseason. From your typical positional breakdowns to other categories like stock risers, breakout players & more.
In this post, we’re taking a look at the quarterback position. With 7v7 tournaments, the easiest guys to watch and break down are the quarterbacks. They have the ball in their hands and are making throws every single snap. Throughout the offseason, these nine guys impressed us in one way or another.
Carson Kirby Carson Kirby 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Bixby | 2026 State OK – 2026 QB – Bixby (Played With Sooner 7 & Southtown Band1ts)
Bixby sophomore quarterback Carson Kirby Carson Kirby 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Bixby | 2026 State OK had a busy offseason playing with Sooner 7 and also the Southtown Band1ts, a team made up of his Bixby teammates. Out of all the quarterbacks on this breakdown, we probably watched Kirby up close and in person more than any other signal caller. And the thing that stands out when we look back on this offseason is how well he played with his Bixby teammates and the Southtown Band1ts. He had complete control of the offense and that should give him and the Bixby offense a lot of momentum as they go into spring practice and into the summer. Kirby finished strong.
David McComb David McComb 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK – 2025 QB – Edmond Memorial (Played With F3 Dawgs)
While we saw Kirby more than any other QB, we only saw Edmond Memorial 2025 quarterback David McComb David McComb 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK in our tournament back in March. McComb, a Kansas commit, played with the F3 Dawgs, a team made up of his Edmond Memorial teammates. McComb played really well that weekend and we think this offseason will help the Bulldogs moving forward towards the fall. McComb and his receivers got work in throughout the offseason and that connection should help this fall. McComb has all the tools to be the state’s top quarterback prospect. That’s been the case since he was a freshman and he looked the part again.
Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK – 2025 QB – Muskogee (Played With Sooner 7)
Muskogee 2025 quarterback Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK started his high school journey with Sooner 7 and he would split time between quarterback and as an overall athlete that played receiver and cornerback. Fast forward to this year and Ficklin has a very strong case that he’s the best quarterback in the state. So when this offseason rolled around, there was no doubt that Ficklin would be one of the best signal callers that we would watch on the 7v7 circuit. We watched Ficklin in several tournaments but it was his play in our tournament in March that leaves a lasting impression. He not only impressed our staff but just about everybody else that watched him.
Jeramiah Ssettimba Jeramiah Ssettimba 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Broken Arrow | 2026 State OK – 2026 QB – Broken Arrow (Played With TheUNIT Platinum)
The first of two quarterbacks from TheUNIT Platinum’s 18U squad is 2026 signal caller Jeramiah Ssettimba Jeramiah Ssettimba 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Broken Arrow | 2026 State OK from Broken Arrow. Ssettimba really impressed us during our tournament in early March. Looking back at our notes, he played really well on Saturday and then was solid as the team made a run to the 18U championship on Sunday. Some of the things that stood out was his ability to throw the football on the run and how consistent he was rolling out to either side of the field. He was delivering some absolute darts that weekend and had a solid offseason. He’ll look to continue that momentum into the spring as he competes to be QB1.
Kason Delgado Kason Delgado 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Union | 2027 State OK – 2027 QB – Union (Played With Sooner 7)
Union 2027 quarterback Kason Delgado Kason Delgado 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Union | 2027 State OK played for Sooner 7 and their top 15U team for the majority of the season. But Delgado also played up in the 18U division late in the offseason. No matter what division he played in and who he was going against, Delgado always looked like he belonged. Delgado got some unexpected playing time last fall when he stepped into the QB1 role at Union. But he’s continued to elevate his game this offseason and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s next for him in the next six months. Delgado continued to get better and better in every tournament we watched him play in. He’s one of the best in the state’s 2027 class.
Levi Brooks Levi Brooks 6'1" | QB Booker T Washington | 2026 State OK – 2026 QB – Booker T Washington (Played With TheUNIT Platinum)
The other half of TheUNIT Platinum’s two-headed monster at quarterback was 2026 signal caller Levi Brooks Levi Brooks 6'1" | QB Booker T Washington | 2026 State OK from Booker T Washington. Brooks is in a similar boat to Ssettimba where he was just solid throughout the offseason. We got a chance to see him in multiple tournaments and every time we watched him, he found a way to impress us. But in that same PRZ tournament that TheUNIT Platinum would win, Brooks stole the show on Sunday. His arm strength really stood out as the team made a run to the 18U championship. It was very windy that day and Brooks had no problems throwing against the wind with power and with accuracy.
Mason Schubert Mason Schubert 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Morrison | 2025 State OK – 2025 QB – Morrison (Played With Sooner 7)
Morrison 2025 quarterback Mason Schubert Mason Schubert 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Morrison | 2025 State OK is yet another signal caller from Sooner 7 that impressed us this offseason. Schubert first got on our radar this time last year with a solid performance on the 7v7 circuit. Schubert, a lefty, is a 2025 quarterback prospect to keep an eye on moving forward. Schubert has a very strong arm and he made some throws this offseason that really opened some eyes. Schubert specifically impressed us in our tournament in early March. He did a good job of dissecting defenses and getting the ball to the open man. Schubert impressed and was incredibly consistent throughout the offseason
Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK – 2025 QB – Union (Played With 918 Elite)
We got a chance to see Union 2025 quarterback Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK in two tournaments in March while he played with 918 Elite. Reisig was once again one of the more accurate quarterbacks we got a chance to watch. That’s been the name of the game for Reisig over the last three years. He is so methodical in the pocket and can slice up a defense in the blink of an eye. 918 Elite was made up mostly of Reisig’s teammates at Union and that will certainly help them as they go into the spring and summer. Union lost a lot of production at the receiver position and Reisig and those new receivers are developing that connection. Reisig is ready for a full season this fall.
Talon Shaffer Talon Shaffer 5'8" | 145 lbs | QB Hilldale | 2027 OK – 2027 QB – Hilldale (Played With 918 Smoke)
We finish up this breakdown with another freshman quarterback to keep an eye on moving forward. Hilldale signal caller Talon Shaffer Talon Shaffer 5'8" | 145 lbs | QB Hilldale | 2027 OK played for 918 Smoke throughout the offseason and he finished the 7v7 circuit on a high note. Shaffer performed very well in several tournaments in March and in addition to seeing him in person on three separate occasions in March, we also broke down his film and that added to our opinion of the young gunslinger. Shaffer isn’t the biggest quarterback prospect on this breakdown but the ball absolutely jumps out of his hand. His arm strength is up there with the best quarterbacks in this class.
