is back and ready to lead this offense to new heights. We’ve seen Brooks quite a bit over the last 18 months. Whether it’s with the pads on or off in various 7v7 tournaments or camps, Brooks has always been a consistent passer and can put the ball where it needs to be. When you take a look around at this roster, Brooks has plenty of playmakers to get the ball to so that accuracy and consistency will be key. To make it simple, get the playmakers the ball and let them go to work.

is another Hornet prospect that has had a really strong offseason and it felt like every time we saw Brooks in person, he was better than the previous time. If he has continued that progression over the summer and takes it into this season, he could really be one of the more underrated quarterbacks in Class 5A. There’s no doubt that Brooks is going to have some talented playmakers around him. If Brooks can get some time from the offensive line, he could have a very productive 2024 season.

has had a really good offseason. We watched Brooks quite a bit this offseason while he was playing in different 7v7 tournaments. This weekend, he put in more work as a pocket passer at our camp and was one of the better passers in attendance. Saturday’s camp setting really set up nicely for Brooks to do what he does best and that’s throwing the ball down the field. He has a strong arm and ended up becoming one of the top performers at that position. Booker T Washington is moving down to Class 5A and they also have some strong young talent. Brooks and company are looking to bounce back in a major way this fall.

joined Ssettimba in the backfield for the eventual 18U champions. Brooks and Ssettimba would rotate series and each brought something different to the table. While Ssettimba really impressed us on Saturday with his throwing on the run, Brooks was your prototypical pocket passer where he did the majority of his damage from the pocket. He took his drops, read the defense and fired darts all over the field. The thing that impressed us the most about Brooks on Sunday was his arm strength. In the championship game, both teams were going into a strong wind and Brooks’ passes were cutting right through the wind. The arm strength is not a concern as the ball went from Point A to Point B in a hurry.
