Plenty of players were added and there were quite a few players that moved up throughout the ranks. We have several breakdowns on individual prospects coming up on Prep Redzone Oklahoma.

In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on ten of the best offensive prospects in the state's 2028 class. Now, this breakdown does not feature offensive linemen, prospects that are labeled as "athletes" and we've covered a few of the QB, RB & WR in previous articles. So keep an eye out for those. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma over the next several days for more individual breakdowns from the state's 2028 class!

Washington running back [player_tooltip player_id='474035' first='Josiah' last='Dickerson'] remains the top running back in the state's 2028 class and checks in at #9 overall in the latest ranking update. Honestly, we should probably put him a little higher as he heads into his junior season. We found out this spring that Dickerson hurt his knee in the scrimmage right before his sophomore season. Not only did that not slow Dickerson down, he absolutely exploded as one of the top running backs in the state. He was never 100% last season and still ran for well over 1,000 yards and was even splitting carries. Those two facts should be nightmare fuel for Washington's opponents this season. First, he's healthy now and second, he's not splitting carries anymore.

Norman North quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1522514' first='Nash' last='Henry'] has been a name that we've known about for a while now in the state's 2028 class and his arrow continues to point up. In the latest ranking update, Henry has jumped into the top ten as an overall prospect and has taken over the top spot at the quarterback position. Henry had a terrific sophomore season and put up some major numbers in the pass game for the Timberwolves. This offseason has also been a successful one as Henry has grabbed the attention of college coaches. His recruitment has begun to take off and he's turning into a legitimate P4 prospect. The 2028 QB class is very talented at the top and it's going to be a fun race to see who ends up on top.

Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] is the second Washington Warrior on this breakdown, joining Dickerson in the Washington backfield. Barrett was our PRZ-Oklahoma Freshman Of The Year in 2024 and had another solid season during his sophomore year. Now, we're looking to see if Barrett can take that next step in his overall development. The on-field IQ is there at this point and he's played so many games that he feels like an extension of the coaching staff. There aren't going to be many situations where Barrett is uncomfortable with what he's seeing at this point. If Barrett can make that leap that we see from quarterbacks going into their junior season, he's certainly going to be in the running for that top QB spot in this class.

It feels like we've written this a few times this offseason but all signs are pointing to Lincoln Christian running back [player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] taking a major step forward as an overall playmaker this fall. You could see flashes of it last season in the Lincoln Christian offense. Similar to Dickerson at Washington, Wright was splitting carries with another running back, who is no longer there. So not only will Wright see his workload go up in the run game, but look out for him to be a major piece in their passing game and he's always a threat in the return game. Wright averaged around 10 yards per carry last season and we are very interested to see what that number looks like this season when the carries will more than likely double.

Alright so we'll admit that basketball might win out here. But we will still contend that McAlester wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1689507' first='Rodney' last='Washington'] has the potential to be one of the top football prospects in the state's 2028 class. Washington is a freak athlete and we only needed to watch him in pads for about an hour last year to realize that he was different than a lot of prospects in this class. Now, full disclosure, Washington is already considered the best basketball prospect in the state and is quickly becoming one of the top basketball prospects in the region. His recruitment has absolutely exploded on the hardwood. So he may end up going the basketball route for the next level but until that day, we'll continue to talk up his play on the gridiron.

Owasso running back [player_tooltip player_id='1709321' first='Malakhy' last='Harris'] is one of the more intriguing 2028 prospects to watch coming into the season this fall. Harris had a season-ending injury last year that derailed what was shaping up to be a really strong sophomore season. He's also moved from Hominy to Owasso, going from the smallest 11-man class to the biggest in the state. So not only is Harris looking for strong comeback season this fall but when he hits the field, the competition level is going to go up in a major way. But if Harris is healthy, he has the potential to be an instant impact player for the Rams. He's a versatile offensive weapon that is equally impactful in the run game and when he splits out at wide receiver.

Stillwater quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1173979' first='Satank' last='Taptto'] is a 2028 signal caller that we're buying stock in because of the athletic ability and overall arm talent. Taptto has a chance to be one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the state, regardless of class this season. We got to see flashes of his ability as a passer last season and then we also saw firsthand how he can decimate a defense with his legs during a regular season win over Choctaw. But looking back on his sophomore season as a whole, Taptto was banged up and we're looking forward to seeing if he can have a full season with a clean bill of health. With his playing style, he might be more prone to being banged up but how he bounces back will be something to watch.

Here's a pretty crazy fact when it comes to wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1599208' first='Dejhaun' last='Hall'] at Broken Bow. He's about to begin his junior season and he already has several of the school's receiving records with two more years of high school ball to go. Hall has been starting for the Savages since his freshman season and he has taken full advantage of the time on the field. There is no doubt that Broken Bow looks incredibly talented on the offensive side of the ball and there are weapons everywhere. Hall is one of the original standouts that has been a big part of turning Broken Bow into a legitimate state championship contender. It's easy to see Broken Bow and focus on the star quarterback but Hall is a legit dude as well.

Stillwater running back [player_tooltip player_id='1837221' first='Jaedan' last='Adams'] was one of our favorite players to watch in person throughout the 2025 season. Adams first got onto our radar a little over a year ago when he emerged in the spring as a legitimate rushing threat in the Stillwater offense. Then we find out that he has a very successful background in wrestling and that toughness definitely shined through during his sophomore season. Good luck trying to bring him down in a one on one situation. Adams is one of those players that you have to gang tackle or he's just going to keep moving down the field. He is an absolute workhorse back that should get more attention around the state following a fantastic breakout sophomore season in 2025.

Deer Creek quarterback J [player_tooltip player_id='1828592' first='Dax' last='Chancey'] is another prospect in the state's 2028 class that we first got a chance to see when he was still in middle school. Chancey has shown pretty steady growth over the last few years and is starting to match that potential we saw back in the middle school days. At this time last year, Chancey was battling for the starting spot and would eventually earn the role with the Antlers going into his sophomore season. Now, as we look ahead to his junior season, we think that Chancey could end up taking a major step forward. First off, quarterbacks typically make pretty significant steps heading into their junior season. But we look at the skill players that Deer Creek has returning and Chancey will be incredibly productive.
