This is something that began for us at PRZ-Oklahoma in 2021 and it continues to get bigger and better every single year. We're looking forward to diving deep into the top teams across the state in every class. From defending champions, to the top contenders and plenty of dark horses and other teams to know, we'll have complete coverage every single day. There will be multiple previews dropping every single day! In this post, we take a look at the Kingston Redskins!

RELATED

- Kingston Video Preview With HC Brad Hill

Kingston Redskins

Head Coach: Brad Hill - 5th Season - 35-12 Record At Kingston

2025 RESULTS (10-2 Record - Lost In Class 2A-1 Quarterfinals)

Aug. 29th - Beat Madill 64-2
Sept. 5th - Lost To Fairview 23-21
Sept. 12th - Beat Comanche 36-14
Sept. 26th - Beat Kiefer 28-14
Oct. 3rd - Beat Okmulgee 59-0
Oct. 10th - Beat Bethel 73-44
Oct. 16th - Beat Heavener 48-20
Oct. 24th - Beat Prague 42-0
Oct. 31st - Beat Hugo 48-6
Nov. 7th - Beat Roland 55-0
1st Round - Beat Sperry 49-14
Quarterfinals - Lost To Marlow 35-21

2025 Offensive Scoring Average: 44.8 Points Per Game
2025 Defensive Scoring Average: 14.3 Points Per Game

The Kingston Redskins came into the 2025 football season looking to build on their 2024 season that saw them go 10-2 and make it to the 2A-1 quarterfinals. Ultimately, it ended up being a sequel to the 2024 season. Almost week by week, it was a repeat of what they did in 2024. They beat Madill in the opener and then dropped a close game to Fairview in week one. And just like 2024, the Redskins didn't lose again in the regular season. They beat Kiefer in the district opener in week four and would dominate the rest of their district schedule. After the 28-14 win over Kiefer, the next closest game in district play was a 28-point win over Heavener. They finished the regular season as district champions again with a 9-1 record. They opened the playoffs with a first round win over Sperry, just like in 2024. That set up a quarterfinal showdown with Marlow, just like in 2024. And unfortunately for the Redskins, history repeated itself after they lost to Marlow in 2024, they lost to the Outlaws again in 2025. For the third straight year, the season ended with a 10-2 record and for the second straight year, it ended in the quarterfinal round. As the calendar turns to the 2026 season and we're getting close to kickoff, things will look different for Kingston in 2026 and they are desperate not to repeat history once again.

2026 OUTLOOK

Kingston comes into the 2026 season with a fresh start, moving up from Class 2A-1 to Class 3A for the next two seasons. And it is about as fresh of a fresh start as you can get with nine new opponents on this year's regular season schedule. Six starters return on the offensive side of the ball for a unit that averaged well over 40 points per game last season. They will have a new quarterback but it will be a familiar name to Kingston fans. The strength of this offense will start on the line of scrimmage and will combine with some new faces that have moved into the program and will be instant impact players for the Redskins. Defensively, Kingston brings back five starters on the defensive side of the ball. Look for Kingston to be similar to the unit that we saw a year ago, that gave up about two touchdowns per game. That has become the standard with Kingston football. And while they have to replace the majority of their starters, the expectation is that they will still be a “bend but don't break” defense. The Redskins will face a new challenge with new district opponents every week. They find themselves in the same district as a Sulphur team that has made it to the last two 3A state title games. Going after another district championship is going to be an incredibly difficult challenge. But if Kingston gets the job done, that could set themselves up for success in the postseason.

KEY LOSSES TO GRADUATION

Logan Stephens - Running Back/Defensive Back
Parks Ratzlaff - Athlete
Reid Patterson - Quarterback

PLAYERS TO WATCH

2027 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1708812' first='Blane' last='Henry'] leads the way for Kingston when it comes to players to watch this season for a few different reasons. First off, he's going into his fourth year as a starter on the Kingston offensive line. He started as a freshman and has been a part of a team that has won 30 games the last three years. Second, he has emerged as a legitimate college football prospect. And finally, everything is going to start on the line of scrimmage. This Kingston offense has the potential to be pretty lethal but it's going to start with Henry and the rest of the Kingston offensive line.

2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1838161' first='Ethan' last='Mowles'] is stepping into a tough position this season as the guy who has to replace Reid Patterson at the quarterback position. But Mowles appears to be ready for the job and we saw signs of that last season. Mowles was used quite a bit during the season as Kingston's wildcat quarterback. He would also play in the quarterfinal game against Marlow. Mowles is not going to be a stranger to this position when he steps back there. But it will be new for him to be THE guy at QB1 for the Redskins. But he should play the position with confidence given his experience.

2027 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1828275' first='James' last='Trout'] is one of the returning starters on the defensive side of the ball. Trout's versatility on the defensive side of the ball makes him a very important player to the Kingston lineup. Last season, Trout started closer to the line of scrimmage as an edge defender or defensive end. But the Redskins are moving him back to linebacker to be the man in the middle of this Kingston defense. They are trusting Trout's experience and overall abilities to lead the way on that side of the ball. He'll be able to not only make plays but bring the new starters along.

We mentioned earlier in the preview how the Redskins were going to benefit from having some new names joining the roster this season. 2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2325417' first='Kayden' last='Fenwick'] moves to Oklahoma from Missouri and joins the Redskins, giving them a potential top target in the passing game. We got a chance to watch Fenwick in person back in April at our second Oklahoma 7v7 tournament. He was one of the more consistent wide receivers that we watched that day. From start to finish, Fenwick ran good routes, got open and made catch after catch.

When you're looking up and down this Kingston roster for the top playmaker that returns this season, we think that this is the guy. 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1708817' first='Ty' last='Jones'] is a player that has played a variety of positions over the last few seasons and it hasn't really mattered where he has lined up on the field, he finds a way to make big plays at a very high level. Look for Jones to be that guy once again for the Redskins this season. He's in a similar position to Henry and Trout where he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the field this season to go along with the playmaking abilities.

MORE NAMES TO KNOW

[player_tooltip player_id='1830837' first='Aiden' last='Polk'] - 2027 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
[player_tooltip player_id='1838886' first='Bear' last='Bell'] - 2028 Athlete
[player_tooltip player_id='1837073' first='Damien' last='Almos'] - 2027 Wide Receiver
[player_tooltip player_id='1831913' first='Kelly' last='Gray'] - 2028 Running Back
[player_tooltip player_id='1836211' first='Koewyn' last='Young'] - 2028 Running Back
[player_tooltip player_id='1831341' first='Landon' last='Burgess'] - 2028 Offensive Lineman

2026 SCHEDULE

Sept. 4th - AT Stigler
- The 2026 regular season kicks off with a week one trip to Stigler. It's the first of three games away from home in the month of September. It's also the first meeting between these two programs since facing off in the 2020 quarterfinals. Stigler won that match-up but Kingston has a 2-1 series advantage. All three meetings prior to this year happened in the playoffs.
Sept. 11th - Hooks, TX.
- The 2026 home opener comes in week two when Kingston hosts Hooks out of Texas. This will be the first time (as far as we know) that Kingston has played an out of state opponent in 15 years. Oklahoma football fans might recognize Hooks, Texas as the home of former Sooner great Billy Sims. It's also the only home game in September.
Sept. 18th - AT Putnam City West
- Kingston heads north to Oklahoma City to square off with Putnam City West in week three to wrap up non-district play. The Redskins are facing a PC West squad that is in Class 6A-2. This is one of the largest schools that Kingston has ever played but they should be ready for the challenge. PC West is a 6A-2 program but one that has struggled recently.
Sept. 25th - AT Idabel
- The Redskins will open up district play with another road game in week four. They'll head to southeastern Oklahoma to square off with Idabel. These two teams were non-district opponents from 2020-2023 and the series was even. Kingston won the first two meetings while Idabel won the last two. Both expect to be playoff teams when they take the field this fall.
Oct. 2nd - Lone Grove
- Kingston returns home for the first time in a few weeks when they host Lone Grove in week five. The Longhorns are another new opponent on the schedule but not new altogether. These two teams were in the same district in 2020 and 2021. The Redskins took care of business those two years. They won both meetings by double digits.
Oct. 9th - AT Madill
- The Redskins go back on the road to face Madill in week six. Of the ten regular season opponents, Madill is the only one that Kingston faced last season. This goes from being a non-district series, like the last four seasons, to being one that will decide playoff positioning. Kingston has won the last three meetings, including last year's 64-2 win.
Oct. 15th - Seminole
- On a Fall Break Thursday night in week seven, Kingston will host Seminole in another important district contest. Both of these teams have moved classes and districts quite a bit but their paths have never crossed. This year will be the first meeting between these two teams. Seminole is coached by the state's all time wins leader.
Oct. 23rd - Sulphur
- Here's the measuring stick game of where Kingston is in Class 3A this season. They host Sulphur in week eight and the Bulldogs have played for the last two state championships and expect to make another run to Edmond this year. These two were district opponents in 2020 and 2021 and split that series. Overall, Sulphur has a 5-1 record against Kingston.
Oct. 30th - AT Pauls Valley
- The last road game in the regular season takes place in week nine when Kingston heads to Pauls Valley. These two teams are back in the same district for the first time since 2020 and 2021. They split the series during those two years, with Kingston winning the 2020 meeting by 22 points before Pauls Valley won 35-28 in 2021.
Nov. 6th - Star Spencer
- The regular season comes to an end in week ten with a home game against Star Spencer. This is another match-up that is completely new for the Redskins moving forward. The week ten clash will be the first between these two teams. Star Spencer is a program looking to find some consistency after up and down years for the last decade.

NOTABLE

The Kingston Redskins begin a new era after moving up to Class 3A for at least the next two seasons. And it's an interesting season in Class 3A because there will be a new state champion. Lincoln Christian, who has won three straight 3A titles and 42 consecutive games, is moving down to 2A-1 for the next two seasons. That's the positive sign for Class 3A this fall. The negative is the influx of talent coming into 3A to go along with the typical 3A contenders that are still there. In addition to Kingston, defending 2A-1 champion Jones is moving up. Along with fellow consistent contenders like Marlow, Metro Christian and OCS. And a program on the rise like Mount St. Mary is also making the jump up. But for Kingston, they will focus on themselves. They've gone 10-2 in each of the last three seasons. They fell to Marlow in the quarterfinals the last two years and the Outlaws are up in Class 3A as well. Perhaps there is a third straight playoff meeting between these two but before we get to November, Kingston is focused on taking care of business in the regular season.

LAST FIVE SEASONS

2025 - 10-2 - Lost In Class 2A-1 Quarterfinals
2024 - 10-2 - Lost In Class 2A-1 Quarterfinals
2023 - 10-2 - Lost In Class 2A 2nd Round
2022 - 5-6 - Lost In Class 2A 1st Round
2021 - 5-5 - Missed Playoffs

CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

1 State Championship

1980 - Beat Talihina 13-6
