Deer Creek quarterback J Dax Chancey Dax Chancey 6'6" Deer Creek | 2028 OK is a 2028 signal caller that could absolutely explode in the next nine months. With spring and summer right around the corner, it’s an opportunity for Chancey to showcase how much he’s grown as a passer since the end of his sophomore season. Chancey started for the Antlers and definitely saw some growing pains going against 6A-1 competition. But we think that this fall could be a big breakout season for him. The signs are there with his continued development, combined with a really strong group of wide receivers returning. Chancey could put up some big numbers this fall, making him a 2028 name to remember moving forward.

Our final quarterback on this breakdown is Deer Creek’s Dax Chancey Dax Chancey 6'6" Deer Creek | 2028 OK and he is a signal caller to keep an eye on moving forward because the ceiling is high. We first watched Chancey at one of our PRZ-Next camps when he was in middle school. It was obvious that the arm talent was there and he also passes the eye test. Chancey is also a standout on the baseball field and he could end up having a bright future there. But he eventually won the starting role with the Antlers this season and while this team is incredibly young and going through some growing pains, there have been some bright spots for Chancey in this Deer Creek offense. He was also stepping into a situation where the Antlers were replacing a three-year starter who’s now a freshman at Georgia Tech. Buy stock now on Chancey.

and he’s similar to Young, where he’s in the middle of a battle for the starting job. Chancey is a quarterback prospect that first got on our radar when he was still in middle school. He immediately caught our attention at one of our PRZ-Next camps but Deer Creek had a pretty good quarterback (now at Georgia Tech) so playing meaningful snaps as a freshman was going to be out of the question. We would then get a chance to see Chancey again back in the spring and he really impressed. Like when we saw him at the PRZ-Next event, Chancey would immediately pass the eye test. Then you watch him throw the ball and the arm strength is absolutely off the charts. So it’s also not a surprise that Chancey is also a very good baseball prospect. If Chancey ends up winning the job, he’ll have a big 2025 season with the weapons that Deer Creek brings back.

Our Prep Redzone Next camp was taking place right before our high school camp on Sunday afternoon. When Deer Creek 2028 quarterback

showed up Sunday morning, I thought he was there for the high school camp. Chancey measured in at 6’4 and he towered over some of the other quarterbacks in the group. So first off, physically, Chancey checks just about every box already. Then it was time to see him throw the ball. And while we didn’t see every single throw made from every quarterback, it looked like Chancey had the strongest arm. And the thing that impressed about some of the throws he made was how effortless it looked. Deer Creek already has a future D1 QB but Chancey could be next up.
