June 2nd's Minnesota Gophers' Prospect Camp's OL/DL Standouts

For anyone involved in any way with prep football recruiting, scouting, and even coaching in Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers two prospects in the summer are two of the most important days of the year. The highest level of coaching and talent a lot of these prospects see in their calendar year, along with the eyes of well over a dozen different college programs from the FBS to DIII level, makes for one of the most electric and competitive environments of the summer. Check out the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp's OL and DL Standouts below, only on PrepRedzone.   --   Alpha Dog:    A big-time recruiting win for the Golden Gophers in rival territory, Cedar Rapids' product and Prairie High School rising senior OT Will Clausen showed up and showed out at his future home in Dinkytown. A legit 6'5+ with good length and a lean 290-pounds with room to grow, Clausen was the undisputed Alpha Dog out of the padded OL/DL groups that descended upon the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp, asserting himself throughout the Gophers' camp but especially so during 1v1s, when the lights were shining brightest. We watched Clausen win three reps on the Board Drill is dominant fashion, bending, loading his hops, and flying out of his stance, getting his hands on quickly and violently, and overwhelming, large, D1 and scholarship-bound DL quickly and physically while helping them flat on their backs and rear ends. With blood in the water, Clausen came into 1v1s warmed up and ready to work, going best-on-best with the competing DL group while showing off foot speed, balance, and an impressive ability to adjust laterally to handle twitch, and combined with that aforementioned brute strength, he wasn't letting any body off easy. Clausen looks every bit of a future B1G OL, and it was also impressive how he took reps, and won, at both tackle spots, while working in front of his future OL coach Brian Callahan. Gophers got a good one.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/WillClausen27/status/2062266785219408038 </div></figure>    Stock Riser:    Back-to-back standout PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp performances out of CDH's [player_tooltip player_id='1633384' first='De'Mandre' last='Frierson-Hollie']. The rising senior TE also produced one of the more riveting narratives of the Gophers' first camp of the summer. Coming in very-much on the Gophers' radar, and with a good showing and good experience from a 2025 Gopher camp under his belt, not to mention a good junior season and offseason, De'Mandre brought his pads to this summer's camp, and before you knew it, Frierson-Hollie was earning reps at DE with the upperclassmen-heavy Big Dog group. And I'll tell ya, he sure made things interesting in terms of his projection to the college level. With verified size and explosiveness backing his plus-length, Frierson-Hollie looked like a natural at the DE spot, and he came in with a bang, showing off a very effective speed rush and a natural ability to run the hoop and beat OTs to their outside shoulder. The bend certainly caught the host's attention, and they proceeded to put Frierson-Hollie against the best tackle in attendance, Cedar Rapids-Prairie 2027 Will Clausen, a current Golden Golders commit! It was a heckuva battle, and the Minnesota native flashed some twitch, bend at the top of the arc, and pass-rushing savvy in terms of intention with his moves, counters, and reads. The Gophers didn't elect to offer on Tuesday, but given the green verified metrics, high school production, and multiple standout in-person exposure points, there's a high chance of success for this 651 product no matter where he lands. In unsurprising fashion, Johnson comes out of Fon du Lac High School and the Cardinals' strength & conditioning program, the same one that helped produce Braelon Allen very recently. A mountain of a 2029 OT prospect, Johnson stepped in and asserted himself early amongst a large, physical group of OL and DL peers, mainly rising seniors and juniors I should add, during the padded Board Drill. Johnson stepped up, and despite the size and youth, he's controlled, coordinated, and bendy, and he could load his hips, fire off the ball, suck in space, and really get into an OL's chest plate in a blink. Additionally, his pop, as well as strength post-contact, was obvious and physically dominant, knocking DL back and easily greeting them to the turf thanks to his length, power, and understanding of leverage.   Johnson also showed a clean pass set and was able to gain width and depth to handle various kinds of rushers during 1vs1 and was comfortable stepping up and competing against larger, more experienced DL. He'll be hearing from P4s sooner rather than later.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CoachPlucker/status/2036128417024704744 </div></figure>     Crosby-Ironton product [player_tooltip player_id='1397399' first='Jacob' last='English'] is making the move 16 miles SW to Brainerd High School to finish out his high school career, and say what you want about "this day and age" in prep and college sports, but I think it's a good move. A higher level of competition and more pass rushing opportunities are two good things for high-level DEs, and that's exactly what [player_tooltip player_id='1397399' first='Jacob' last='English'] is. With a ton of college programs watching, English showed off green, verified size/athleticism, as well as elite twitch that he used well during 1v1s. The Golden Gophers are going to be keeping a close eye on English this fall. He's trending towards P4 offers right now.     Eden Prairie is rich in defensive line talent going into 2026. With two stud DEs, one of which already holds a Gophers' offer, the Eagles have a stud DT who is making sure he climbs up rankings and recruiting boards this offseason. Enter [player_tooltip player_id='1695494' first='Taylor' last='Hussong'], a PRZMN Showcase standout from this past winter who built up and saved a tremendous individual effort for one of the biggest moments of his budding athletic career, Tuesday night's PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. Hussong was nothing short of prolific during 1v1s, putting the whole state, as well as the plethora of local scholarship programs, on notice. There's a reason this kid started for Eden Prairie's DL as a sophomore, and he piled up win after win after win during 1v1 competition against some of the top OL competition in the state. The hands, both in their initial pop as well as overall usage, the ability to unlock his hips, and overall strength helped him pile up Ws, including against the lone Gophers' commit in attendance, who he battled with on selection at the end of the 1v1 session. He'll need to continue to add some size and physically develop he wants to reach the upper echelons of college football, but he showed his play is up to snuff on Tuesday night in Dinkytown.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TaylorHussong_/status/2051495853336981618 </div></figure>     Hudson High School had a very strong showing across the border in Minneapolis, both in the trenches on the perimeter. Although [player_tooltip player_id='2103477' first='Noah' last='Dunaway'] is new to PRZMN's radar, the DE is far from unfamiliar to PRZWI lead scout Mark Johnson, and I can see why Dunaway is ranked is the 50s in our border state's 2027 class. Dunaway is a big, strong, powerful kid, and he knows how to use his size and strength effectively in a competitive setting. Dunaway put a couple of OL on skates during the Board Drill and 1v1s, and he also flashed a good get-off, twitch, standout hand placement, and a good understanding of leverage, not to mention good pad level at his height, during his multitude of 1v1 wins. Somehow, Drake is Dunaway's only offer right now. The Bulldogs offered after Dunaway's performance at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. A now-verified 6'6, 230+ with an impressive wingspan, Greenwell was an easy First-off-the-Bus, First Team All-Eye Test selection, and he possesses a ridiculous amount of room to fill in as well. I thought his play was on par as well, as Greenwell had one of the more impressive individual reps of the camp, going speed to power with so much force that he put a budding 2028 D1 OT flat on his butt in dominating fashion. Greenwell was also bendy, flashed a powerful & effective bull rush, and earned some wins on the board drill during competition as well. The Cougs have some dogs on their 2026 roster, and 2027 DL Boesch put the whole state on notice on Tuesday night at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp thanks to his individual performance. Boesch a complete bulldozer, was arguably the biggest winner of the Board Drill, and he sure made himself known in physical fashion to open up the padded reps. Boesch, measuring in at 6'1+, 250 lbs., opened things up with arguably the #1 most impressive rep of the entire camp, getting off the ball like he was shot out of a cannon and completely obliterating a large, rising senior OT in humiliating fashion. Boesch may have had the most effective bull rush in attendance. The raw, dominant pop, along with his hand placement, strength at the point of attack, and leg drive was putting together some eye-popping wins against big, heavy opponents, maybe the most of any one individual performer during the Board Drill. Boesch even held his own and then some against a Golden Gopher commit in attendance. Talk about opening some eyes, Boesch earned a Drake offer after the camp and really put some fun context into his 53'-07.50" shot put PR this spring. Boesch is a straight-up bulldozer and should see a fruitful summer on the camp trail.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Braydenboesch99/status/2062152279013122135 </div></figure>     PRZMN has now seen and evaluated Rocori's [player_tooltip player_id='1699519' first='Grayson' last='O'Neal'] at both OT and DT in the past three months. The Next Great Recruit out of the 4A, St. Cloud-area powerhouse and talent-factory, O'Neal was really shining at DL at the 2026 PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp on Tuesday night. The verified 6'4"+, 285 lber. really came alive and put his best cleat forward during 1v1 competition against the OL, live and fully padded, when the spotlight shone the brightest. O'Neal flashed an effectively quick get-off and pad level for his size, lateral agility and the twitch to jab-step and beat OTs to either shoulder, and a good push-pull that earned him a handful of Ws alone throughout 1v1s. Tons of pass-rushing juice, dynamic ability, and size/strength in this rising junior Rocori product. Looks like a FCS/FBS type of lineman right now, especially if he can continue to improve his quickness and explosiveness.     Another recent standout PRZMN Showcase standout and veteran, I really like the upside of Minnetonka's [player_tooltip player_id='1695560' first='Brady' last='Harrison']. Nearly 6'5, 255 lbs., with good length and room to fill in, Harrison was a can't-miss standout during 1v1 competition at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. With the aforementioned length and excellent quickness for his size and age, Harrison was lockdown in pass protection, and earned tough, hard-fought, physical wins against impressive DL competition. The lack of varsity experience for Harrison didn't seem to matter on Tuesday night, as he was holding his own against power, twitch, experience, and all different kinds of rushers out of the DL group. The consistency, frame, length, and ability to stay engaged, stay square, and stay in front of rushers is reminding me a lot of Germantown (WI) 2027 OT [player_tooltip player_id='1620317' first='Brady' last='Moranski'], who we watched a lot of last year on the camp trail. Harrison has a lot of tools and athleticism going for him going into his junior year with the Skippers.     A big body out of the 2027 class and the Class 4A ranks, New Ulm's [player_tooltip player_id='1629951' first='Isaiah' last='Friese'] has already solidified himself as one of Minnesota's biggest winners of the ongoing 2026 Summer Camp SZN. Friese, thanks to some verified size and athleticism, was a flexible, quick, physical, and overall athletic prep tackle who performed well enough to earn his first D1 offer, as the University of North Dakota offered after the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp concluded. No doubt one of the top performers and overall winners from the first Gopher camp of the summer. Great to finally see Friese in person too, he lived up to the hype. Someone's earned a ranking's bump!   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/FrieseIsaiah/status/2062002945701363815 </div></figure>     PRZMN didn't get the best look at Edina's sophomore sensation [player_tooltip player_id='1739373' first='Wyatt' last='Perry'] at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp, but from what we could gather, Perry is legit, with all the makings of a future P2 OT. Good to see the homegrown talent show up to the Gophers camp too. From a recruiting standpoint, that means he's interested. He came in with some momentum too, recently earning offers from Florida Atlantic and Georgia Tech. Still needs a bit of work in the weight room, but the size, length, physicality, foot speed, and balance were all rare to find in a kid this big and this young. Plus, the 6A starting experience with the Big School state champs, as well as the wealth of pass protection situations he's been in his budding career, showed up well during 1v1s at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. I'd keep an eye on this name for all you Gopher & top-end recruiting fans we got out there.     The state of Minnesota's 2029 OL1 proved he belonged with the state's best on Tuesday night in Dinkytown. Arriving to the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp backed with some serious hype behind him, and the Prior Lake rising sophomore delivered. PRZMN has gotten a couple of in-depth exposure points on Elliott this offseason, but unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of Elliott at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. However, his performance had the Larson Performance Center buzzin', as the power, balance, and physicality are a combination I haven't seen in a freshman Minnesotan lineman in a while. Keep an eye out for Elliott in the upcoming 2029 PRZMN Ranking's Update as well.     Anoka's [player_tooltip player_id='1556202' first='Dustin' last='Burton'] is undoubtedly one of the biggest risers and winners of this ongoing offseason. The 6'+, 290 lber. is one of the best pass protecting iOL in the state, with intentional, concise, balanced, and consistent footwork and a base & anchor that wull halt any bull rush or power move in its tracks. Burton shut down and earned wins against some of the top DL in attendance, and in physically-impressive fashion I should add, and is able to handle twitch, power, or a combination of the two, with notable ease. Still an under-the-radar talent, Burton is going to make a heckuva NSIC mauler one day soon.     A gargantuan Big School OT out of the 2028 class and Eastview High School, [player_tooltip player_id='1651491' first='Owen' last='Bauer'] was a can't-miss prospect at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. The verified colossus put out a good showing and overall body of work padded up at the, and although he took some lumps against a loaded group of DL competitors, Bauer upheld and defended his state ranking an recruiting position at the Larson Performance Center. Bauer, with his length and heavy hands, was a force during the Board Drill, and he showed off his 6A, pass-pro experience well during 1v1s. Strong and physical, especially when he could get hands on a rusher, Bauer has elite size and tools available, as well as a year of starting experience going into his upperclassmen campaign. The Gophers, and I'm sure some B1G rivals, will be eagerly awaiting this budding OT's junior tape in a couple of months.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/OwenBauer77/status/2055654211493208179 </div></figure>     Coming in with an offer list stuffed with the likes of Dartmouth, Tulsa, Missouri State, South Dakota, Arkansas State, Oklahoma State, Yale, Lindenwood, and Cornell, Show-Me State native Will Seiler was one of the stronger OL in attendance at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. Physically impressive, bordering on dominant, during the Board Drill, Seiler also earned some tough wins against high-level competition in Dinkytown. The Lee's Summit High School 2027 will continued to be monitored closely by the Gophers' staff as they continue to fill out their 2027 OL commitment class.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/WillSeiler2/status/2042317273025933646 </div></figure>    Worth Noting:    A premier iDL prospect out of Wisconsin and D1 powerhouse Arrowhead High School, [player_tooltip player_id='2112349' first='Zach' last='Lavoe'] was a physical eye-catcher at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect, which was far from lacking in massive human beings and prep football prospects. Measuring in at 6'1+ and 280 lbs., Lavoe had noticeable pop and heavy hands, but he was also sudden and twitchy, flashing a well-rounded skillset that was a tough matchup for opposing guards and centers. Should be a monster year for Lavoe this fall. No offers yet, but DT is a premier position on the recruiting trail, so don't be surprised if things heat up quickly.     The pleasant surprise and darkhorse performance of the DL group came out of Minnetonka's [player_tooltip player_id='1633461' first='Pierce' last='Fogarty']. A 2027 DL we're quite familiar with thanks to LineofScrimmage training & consulting, Fogarty looks noticeably beefier than the last time we saw him, adding good weight and even more explosiveness to his 5'10+, 217 lb. frame. Fogarty put on a clinic during 1v1s, playing with outstanding twitch and an explosive get-off that was seemingly unstoppable at the PJ Fleck RTB Camp. Good angles, good hand usage, powerful at initial contact, and nonstop, balls-to-the-wall hustle + effort. Fogarty even beat some of the Top Performing overall OL prospects in attendance in pass-rush settings fully padded. With strong testing times and verified measurables backing up his play, Schuller flashed a mean bull rush and the ability to go speed to power effectively, earning some notable wins in the upperclassmen-heavy, Big Dog, OL/DL group at the 2026 PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TimSchuller1/status/2062243200081772770 </div></figure>     With some good size backing him, Thompson, North Dakota product Elijah Conrad earned some notable wins on Tuesday night at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. Conrad proved he could bend at the top of the arc and beat OTs to their outside shoulder. Positionally versatile as well. The Minneapolis North thumper of a DL is well-known to PRZMN, and he once again had a memorable and positive exposure point live and in person on Tuesday night. Not the biggest DL around, but he's got some length backing him, as well as tenacious competitiveness, toughness, physicality, and the ability to punch well above his weight. He won with his get-off, quickness, and bag of pass-rushing moves at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect, namely an arm-over we saw him pull out with effectiveness a couple of times. Out of the OL group, [player_tooltip player_id='1650752' first='Eli' last='Sundsmo'] sure announced himself with authority, standing out and catching the attention of college coaches during both the Board Drill and 1v1s. The 6', 287 lber. performed so well in fact, that the Golden Gopher staff moved up to the Big Dog group for padded 1v1s. In-person, the strength, balance, and footwork were much more impressive than what we could gather on tape, and he's laid the foundation to generate some serious college consideration and attention this summer going into his senior year. Verified 6'1+, 270 and growing, Kendall earned himself some hard-fought wins during the physical Board Drill exercises, catching the attention of PRZMN. Kendall then went onto step up against high-quality DL competition during 1v1s, showing off the base, balance, and foot speed he's been sharpening over the offseason with LineofScrimmage training programs. A good athlete as well, Kendall highlighted his wins with a lockdown pass pro rep against a premier DT out of one of our border states. Violent and strong, Knuth was a beast during the padded Board Drill session, showing a ton of strength at the contact point when he locks out his arms, and he earned some hard-fought wins against some physically-impressive, high-quality OL competition from the Upper Midwest. An impressive athlete, Crimmings' basketball background showed up noticeably well in his pass pro reps, and he proved he could play with physicality, strength, and a low pad level to hold up in the trenches against high-quality competition.
