PRZ managed to get eyes on Verona Area’s Max Crimmings near the end of Session 1 at the 2026 UWRF MNWI Mega Camp while we were scouring the underclassmen groups. Boy did we like our finds too, with Crimmings leading the way in terms of impressiveness and recruitability. Crimmings measured in on the day at 6’4, 221 pounds with a lean, and I mean very lean, frame. Talk about room to fill in, Crimmings looked (in a good way) more like a pass rusher than protector, and holy moly did he blow the roof off testing, going 4.92 40, 4.73 in the shuttle, 9’3 in the broad jump, and 34.7″ in the vertical jump. Talk about an athlete, Crimmings was also one of the most technically sound OTs in attendance, not to mention one of the most physical. Impressively patient in his pass set, foot speed like a talented hooper, and was eating contact and power rushes for breakfast. The Wildcats‘ OT showed a great punch and consistent hand placement and did a great job of continually staying square throughout a rep. Twitch, power, physicality, some combination of the bunch, Crimmings was taking on any and all opponents with equal effectiveness. Must-know name out of the Wisconsin 2028 OL class.

I have really enjoyed watching Max’s tape this offseason and I have loved all the talk about him that I have heard from his teammates hyping him up to me without even asking. The 2028 OL is clearly a talented athlete, starting at RT for Verona all of 2025 already. The 2028 checked in at 6’4″ 221 lbs and then put on a show in the combine running a 4.92 40, 4.73 shuttle, 9’3″ broad jump, and a 34.7″ vertical. Obviously he will need to continue to fill out, but what he can already do at 220+ lbs on the OL tells me his ceiling is one of the highest if he can fill out that frame. The ’28 is a technician and showed it in 1v1s. Wide base and quick feet to not only stay in front of his man but also be ready to absorb bull rush attempts. I was able to see him eat up a bull rush attempt and stand up the DE thanks to those traits and perfectly placed hands. Big things ahead for this kid.

A stud hooper for Verona Area High School and the the Wisconsin Academy AAU squad, 2028 OL Crimmings brings a noticeable amount of athleticism, bend, quickness, and explosiveness to the position. An impressive athlete, Crimmings‘ basketball background showed up noticeably well in his pass pro reps, and he proved he could play with physicality, strength, and a low pad level to hold up in the trenches against high-quality competition. With the state of Wisconsin’s tradition of OL prospects, Crimmings is a must-watch in the 2028 class.

Max is a new addition during this most recent update, and his current spot is looking like it will be a launching point. He is a talented right tackle for Verona. The big man plays with effortless athleticism and overall mobility. He can reach DL, burst up to level two, or get the contain man hooked on outside run calls. Max is so light on his feet, yet delivers power instantly on contact. Everything is so fluid and efficient in terms of change of direction, range, and flexibility. He also does a great job of taking correct steps to his man and uses great angles to his target. Big things ahead for Max. He is on a path towards being one of the top at this position.
