Analysis: Let’s start with the obvious, given the following honorable mentions list: This class is loaded at the tight end position, even more than the state’s highest classifications. Unfortunately for the HMs, Harrison takes the honor home as one of the top overall prospects in the entire country. But don’t be surprised if another guy on the list bests him in terms of actual on-field production.

The running back position was so difficult to finalize. Truthfully, all five of these players deserve the recognition, and there are a few others with arguments for inclusion as well. It’s a fun class at the skill positions.

Finally, I used my flex spot to put a second quarterback: North Johnson’s Kaleb Pone Kaleb Pone 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB North Johnston | 2026 State NC , a true dual-threat with over 1,500 yards passing and 1,200 yards rushing. There’s one potential quarterback I left off, but more on him in a bit.

4A All-State Team: Defense

Analysis: This class was devastated on defense by graduation and transfers, as a host of players who excelled last year aren’t here anymore. You could make a pretty solid tandem of quarterbacks from our defensive backs, but I’ve heard that Dionte Neal Dionte Neal 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Reidsville | 2026 State NC will have a bigger role on defense than at QB this year, and Oates will play linebacker or safety in college.

There’s a lot of upside in this class, but some of that is unrealized so far. Which players will distance themselves as the best in the 4Aclass this season?
