Picking up recent offers from South Florida, Georgia Southern, and East Carolina in the last month, Qualteau is definitely on a lot of college football programs’ radars at the moment. He is coming off of an All-Conference season where he had 26 catches for an impressive 602 yards and 9 touchdowns in a run-first offense with the Storm. He also played a lot on defense at the EDGE spot, reflective of his athleticism. On defense, he had 4 sacks and 22 quarterback hurries and was an impact player on both sides of the ball. That level of production put him on our 704 Junior Bowl team, and it earned him the #1 spot in this ranking.

Hawkins is a high-upside, raw prospect, and we’re higher on him than most. He’s elite with the ball in the air, and though he’s a strong blocker, he doesn’t line up much inside. He’s one of the most physically-impressive prospects at the position in the state, and should have no issue transitioning to the college level.

The highly talented tight end spent most of his time on offense, flexed out playing wide receiver, and he made a nice play for a touchdown catch in the first quarter to tie the game up 7-7. Qualteau was able to high point the football over a smaller defensive back in the end zone for the score. Qualteau also had a nice catch over the middle on that same drive, and I thought he might go on to have a big night statistically.

Hawkins is one of the biggest mismatch problems in the 704. At 6’3, 240, he combines size with surprising athleticism, routinely making plays in the passing game that most players his size simply can’t. He already holds a couple of Power Four offers, and with an expected uptick in production this season, his stock could rise even higher.

Hawkins flew up not only our board, but the boards of college coaches, as he moved from outside the top 100 to the top 22 in the class on Prep Redzone, also earning several FBS offers in the last few months. A more traditional in-line tight end, Hawkins is an excellent blocker with some untapped receiving potential. That makes him a candidate to continue to rise thanks to his athleticism and potential.

I have been high on Qualteau since he showed some promise as a freshman prospect for the Storm. Qualteau is an excellent receiving tight end, and he was his team’s leading receiver last season in a tough year overall for them. College football programs started picking up on him this offseason, and he received his first offer from Virginia Tech in late January. Marshall, Appalachian State, and South Florida soon followed after, and now he is on some national radars as a tight end who can get vertical down the field and win in the passing game against linebackers and safeties in the middle of the field. It will be interesting to watch how Qualteau continues to progress over the next two years, I think he has a very high ceiling overall.

I have thought a lot of Qualteau since seeing him as a freshman last year show some athletic ability and be productive as a Varsity tight end – one of the hardest positions for high school freshmen to come in and be ready to play. Qualteau is an athletic player who excels as a receiver in the passing game – he is fast for his size and can split out wide and win against smaller corners. He also wins against linebackers and safeties in the slot, and he is a good mismatch overall. Qualteau picked up his first offer recently from Virginia Tech and has received interest from other Power 4 schools. Qualteau was also named All-Conference for his production & play this past season.
