Brandon has been one of our favorite offensive linemen here at Prep Redzone North Carolina because he just is a beacon of consistency in his game. He’s committed to play college football at nearby Catawba College, and I expect him to continue serving pancakes up in Salisbury on Saturday afternoons in his future. His move to Mount Pleasant has been a perfect fit in their offense, and he’s a strong pass blocker as well against interior defensive linemen.

The recent Catawba College pledge has serious power to displace defenders, and he’s not even close to his physical peak. A year in a college weight room will really help him reach that athletic upside. We’re higher on him than colleges seem to be and with a strong senior season, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him get more Division I interest.

The big Mount Pleasant OL prospect had previously been offered by Catawba and decided to go ahead and commit to the Indians after a strong camp performance on Friday Night. As an interior offensive line player, Brandon will be a mountain-mover this upcoming season for the Tigers in their run-heavy offensive scheme. I think Catawba got a pretty good steal here, as we have Brandon ranked as a Top 15 lineman in the state.

In writing this evaluation for Brandon, I have learned that he now attends Mount Pleasant High School for his senior year, where I think he is going to be an excellent fit in their offense. Brandon is a big guard/center that can really get after it in the running game. He has been coached well, he moves his feet with good technique on a variety of blocks, he can pull, trap, and climb second level with power, and he can stonewall interior defensive linemen on the line of scrimmage with the best of them. He has a great attitude and is a team player, a great fit on this Junior Bowl team.
