Despite the decline in the National Signing Day's precedence since the infusion of the Early National Signing Day and a generally accelerated recruiting process for D1 and DII players, the first Wednesday of February still remains a significant milestone and benchmark in a prospect's recruitment. You can still wake up early, hit your school's gymnasium, sign in front of your family, friends, and peers, and fax that National Letter of Intent to their future football home, but a lot of these kids have known where they're going to college for a while. That's not true in all cases however, and NSD remains an exciting day for us PRzMN scouts as we excitedly take to social media to find news on late commitments, signings, transfers, and announcements regarding seniors in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Some kids simply don't announce on social media, some take their time in deciding until NSD, and some run into issues - including late decommitments, grade issues, or a general lack of visibility - as their senior year passes the halfway mark and college begins to loom larger & larger. It's still one of the best days of the year if you're a fan of high school/college football recruiting, and this NSD saw a ton of relevant news regarding Minnesotans and their college football plans. Check out the most relevant and important news below.

Iowa Central Community College Lands Massive Haul of MN Talent

The Tritons, based in Fort Dodge, have been a long-time home and refuge to talented Minnesota high schoolers, bouncebacks, and high school football players as a whole. Not only have a ton of Land of 10K Lakes products found success in the JUCO ranks with ICCC, a ton have graduated and earned their associates, and it's a junior college that I have no problem recommending to Minnesotans taking the JUCO route. A lot of the success begins with TE coach Gavin Blomberg, a 2017 Providence Academy grad who has been on staff at ICCC for around half a decade, a near century in JUCO years, who seems to not only find and recruit the right Minnesotans but also look out for them once they get to Fort Dodge. This year's haul of MN seniors may be the best top-end talent-wise I've seen since I've been working for PRzMN, with length, size, athleticism, and D1 worthy athletes from a variety of positions represented in the class. Get to know a few of the signees below:

[player_tooltip player_id='641226' first='Camren' last='Riggins'] (Eden Prairie) 2025. DE. 6'4, 240 lbs.

Coming in at a premier position as a 3-man front defensive end, [player_tooltip player_id='641226' first='Camren' last='Riggins'] comes out of 6A powerhouse Eden Prairie, arguably the biggest talent factory in MN, has an accomplished basketball background (hello, Anthony Anderson), and showed some D1-worthy athleticism on this past summer's camp circuit, measuring in at around 6'3+ 235, with a 6'5 wing, posting a 5.2 40, 4.65 and 4.72 shuttle, and 9' broad jump. However, he never really posted any recruiting news or attention, and didn't seem to put things together consistently as a pass rusher, and behind the scenes I heard he was more interested in playing basketball, so take that how you will. It dropped him a bit in the 2025 rankings, but he's got some real-deal upside, athleticism, and MN Big School experience that should be a big asset for the Tritons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1191533' first='Monteff' last='Dixon'] (Cretin-Derham Hall) 2025. TE. 6'5, 210 lbs.

One of my favorite signings of the 2025 NSD in Minnesota, ICCC got a monster TE commit in our #45 ranked senior prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1191533' first='Monteff' last='Dixon']. Not sure what happened behind the scenes, and was never able to get any verified athleticism on Dixon, but the size, tape, production, athleticism, and length scream Division 1 talent, and Dixon helped lead Cretin-Derham Hall to a 5A state quarterfinal appearance despite a 6-5 record in 2024. His ball skills and juice after the catch, as well as his frame, which should be able to add weight at an exciting rate, should serve him well as a future JUCO prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120574' first='Randy' last='Kweyete'] (Park Center) 2025. DB. 6'3, 180 lbs.

More size and length at a premium position for the Tritons, who landed Park Center defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1120574' first='Randy' last='Kweyete'] in their 2025 class. Kweyete is a big, long, physical corner who was offered by FCS Illinois State, as well as DIIs Minot State and Bemidji State, but elected to walk the JUCO path like a few notable Park Center Pirates have done before. Kweyete projects to play either safety or maybe LB with ICCC, depending on how he grows, and Minnesota DBs have an excellent tradition of finding their groove as a #JUCOProduct.

[player_tooltip player_id='945923' first='Cooper' last='Mansfield'] (Elk River) 2025. OL. 6'11, 290 lbs.

Another D1 offeree and easy Top 50 senior heading to Fort Dodge to play JUCO football, Elk River's [player_tooltip player_id='945923' first='Cooper' last='Mansfield'] is one of the biggest Minnesotans to come out of the prep ranks in a decade, and if you read Jim Paulsen's StarTribune article today, you already know that Mansfield is currently measuring in at an astounding 6'11" after coming in at around 6'9-6'10 last school year. The behemoth of an OT was offered by FBS Ohio last year, but despite the Elks 2024 5A state championship run, things stayed cool on the recruiting trail, most likely due to Mansfield's rawness coming out of a Power-T rushing attack with Elk River. Mansfield is coming into Fort Dodge locked in and focused, and I'd expect him to be an extremely popular JUCO OL prospect if he can get comfortable in pass protection and clean up his technique.

Reggie Williams (Maple Grove) 2025. WR. 6', 165 lbs.

I saw Reggie clock a 40 in the 4.5s and get pulled aside by the Golden Gophers recruiting staff this summer in Dinkytown, and he followed it up with a 9'8" broad jump to put a massive spotlight on his explosiveness. Williams is somewhat an inbetweener positionally, and he was stuck behind one of the most talented graduating classes in recent MN history in this past season's Maple Grove Crimson, so he wasn't used to his full potential, but I believe ICCC will do a good job of getting that explosiveness onto the field. Remember the name!

[player_tooltip player_id='234899' first='Dallas' last='Hanson'] (Lake City) OL. 6'2, 280 lbs.

Greg Banaszynski (Lake City) 2025. OL. 6'5, 285 lbs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1118428' first='Charlie' last='Olson'] (Elk River) 2025. DE/TE. 6'3, 240 lbs.

Verified size on a well-built 6'3, 240 lb. frame, Elk River's [player_tooltip player_id='1118428' first='Charlie' last='Olson'] was one of the key pieces to the Elks 2024 state championship run. Providing legit pass rushing ability off the edge defensively, Olson was more than able to get dirty in the trenches as a tight end, sticking his face into the run blocking game play after play, series after series for the Elks high-powered rushing attack. Also a PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout performer who possesses good athleticism for his size, Olson's combination of size, versatility, athleticism, and 5A, big game experience should help see the field earlier than most in Fort Dodge.

Qaiyim Beeks (Minneapolis North) 2025. DL. 6'1, 235 lbs.

[player_tooltip player_id='743266' first='Jajuan' last='Bobmanuel'] (Minneapolis North) 2025. LB/RB. 6', 200 lbs.

[player_tooltip player_id='234914' first='Tay'Juan' last='Henderson'] (Minneapolis North) 2025. OL/DL.

[player_tooltip player_id='743268' first='Jaydn' last='Harris'] (Cretin-Derham Hall) 2025. LB. 5'11, 200 lbs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120571' first='Peter' last='Okafor'] (Park Center) 2025. OG. 6'2, 310 lbs.

A legit scholarship iOL talent who played tackle for Park Center, Okafor is very athletic, with good feet and a heckuva base built on a massive brick of a frame. A standout PrepRedzoneMN Showcase performer and long-time starter, Okafor has some work to do on his body, but he's a bruiser and a good athlete at a position that a ton of programs are looking to recruit JUCO players out of.

[player_tooltip player_id='234778' first='Tony' last='Kollie'] (Robbinsdale Cooper) 2025. LB. 5'11, 210 lbs.

Murray State Making Inroads in Minnesota

The Racers, who are leaving the Ohio Valley Conference for the Mighty Missouri Valley - the SEC of FCS football - have been on a recruiting tear in anticipation for their move to the Missouri Valley and the battle-tested, blood-thirsty competitors who await them there. Offers getting sent out full throttle, new geographic areas being hit, transfer portal utilized, and a huge emphasis placed on late 2025 sleeper recruiting, particularly in Minnesota. The Racers made some late offers to a variety of Minnesota, shaking up the recruitment of a number of seniors, and earned a significant amount of visits, and eventually commitments, for their efforts. The Racers ended up landing five commits from the Land of 10K Lakes, prioritizing size and positions in the trenches, where MN normally produces well at. Get to know some of the new FCS signees below.

[player_tooltip player_id='938335' first='Nick' last='Montik'] (Elk River) 2025. DE. 6'5, 240 lbs.

An absolute steal for the Racers and my favorite signing of Murray State's 2025 crop of Minnesotans, Elk River's [player_tooltip player_id='938335' first='Nick' last='Montik'] is a D1 athlete at his size who came into last summer's UW-River Falls Mega Camp and measured at 6'5, 231 and popped off a 4.99 40, 4.69 shuttle, and 9'3 broad. Montik has only been playing football for two or three years, and given the role he had on the 5A state champs throughout his career as a DE and TE, not to mention the compelling athleticism, could make him one of the jewels of this class for Murray State.

[player_tooltip player_id='1216090' first='Reece' last='Hunt'] (Lakeville North) 2025. EDGE. 6'2, 230 lbs.

[player_tooltip player_id='945935' first='Kellen' last='Binder'] (Centennial) 2025. TE. 6'4, 230 lbs.

Verified size with good functional athleticism and mobility to boot. Lots of 6A varsity reps with the Cougs, who won a Big School state championship when Binder was a junior. Good skillset of pass catching ability and blocking prowess. Held offers from Mankato State, Southwest Minnesota State, Bemidji State, South Dakota Mines, UW-River Falls.

[player_tooltip player_id='1003346' first='Noah' last='Berrini'] (Mountain Iron-Buhl) 2025. DL. 6'3, 235 lbs.

Cool to see some 9Man representation at the FCS level once again. Berrini tore it up at the 2024 9man Prep Bowl, showing toughness, playmaking ability, and physicality on both sides of the ball as a senior with MIB, the 2024 state runner-ups. Brute at the point of attack and a strong kid who can enforce his will on a football game. Held offers from MSU-Moorhead and Bemidji State.

[player_tooltip player_id='1204072' first='CJ' last='Sanderson'] (Blaine) 2025. DE. 6'3, 260 lbs.

Biggest Signings

This NSD saw some massive surprise signings from some of the state's best seniors. These are your Biggest Signings of the 2025 National Signing Day in Minnesota:

[player_tooltip player_id='752525' first='Cameron' last='Begalle'] (Andover) 2025. WR. 6', 180 lbs.

BOOM! The biggest news and #1 story on signing day comes out of Andover High School. The #8 overall MN 2025, WR2, and bonaifde P4 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='752525' first='Cameron' last='Begalle'] is heading to Duluth to play DII football for the Bulldogs. The biggest high school signing from Minnesota since Wade Sullivan and maybe the biggest high school signing in UMD history, Begalle was a long time Gophers commit who ran into some trouble at the end of the season (this isn't the platform to get into it), forcing him to find a new home, much to the benefit of the Bulldogs. Begalle brings sub-11-second 100M and 4.5 40 speed, fantastic route running ability, great high school production, exciting tape, and legit ball skills to the table as a wideout, and has the chance to absolutely tear up the Northern Sun. I'm going to be eagerly awaiting some news on the Andover product out of Duluth this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1216090' first='Reece' last='Hunt'] (Lakeville North) 2025. EDGE. 6'2, 230 lbs.

Easily a Top 100 prospect in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Hunt was an exciting and late addition to the Murray State 2025 signing class, announcing his commitment on Twitter today. Legit size, comes out of a talent factory, especially on the defensive side of the ball, in Lakeville North, verified athleticism, productive in the sack department, and showed an impressive pass rushing toolkit and skillset in pads and during camp season. He's got all the makings to continue his disruption in the college ranks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1582446' first='Brooklyn' last='Evans'] (Eagan) 2025. ATH. 6', 185 lbs.

Triple-option QB [player_tooltip player_id='1582446' first='Brooklyn' last='Evans'] was the lynchpin to the Eagan Wildcat's turnaround 2024 6A season and success. Evans posted near-elite testing times on the summer camp circuit, including low 4.5 40s, shuttles in the 4.3s, and a near 10' broad to bring some outstanding explosiveness to the table as a prospect. However, I couldn't find much information on Evans' recruitment, so it was hard to contain my excitement when I saw that he landed with NSIC heavyweight Mankato State. The Mavs always do well with 6A prospects, will be able to take advantage of and get the most out of his speed and playmaking ability, coach this kid up well, and use Evans' experience at turning around a Big School program and earning wins as the spotlighted playmaker against Big School competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='541228' first='Caisen' last='Thome'] (Kasson-Mantorville) 2025. DB. 6'2, 190 lbs.

The best uncommitted DB in the state and one of Minnesota's most popular signed or unsigned prospects, Kasson-Mantorville's 6'2, 195 lb. safety [player_tooltip player_id='541228' first='Caisen' last='Thome'] was choosing between nine different Division 1 offers on National Signing Day. The well-built, four-year starter earned offers from Stetson, Drake, Western Illinois, Mercyhurst, Winona State, St. Thomas, Augustana, Army, and Air Force, but none of them ended up earning the signature. Thome announced his commitment to JUCO powerhouse Iowa Western Community College, continuing a legacy of high-upside Minnesota defensive backs to commit to the Reivers on the quest to find glory. Don't be surprised if he blows up in Council Bluffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='502012' first='Isaiah' last='Wright'] (Fertile-Beltrami) 2025. RB. 5'11, 200 lbs.

The player of the Prep Bowl and one of the most legitimate playmakers and athletes out of the 9Man in quite a while, Fertile-Beltrami's electric RB [player_tooltip player_id='502012' first='Isaiah' last='Wright'] capped his career on quite a high, finishing the 2024 season as an undefeated state champion and recording an eye-popping 361 rushing yards and 7 TDs in the state semifinal win against LeRoy-Ostrander. Wright was committed to FCS North Dakota last school year, but some positional miscommunication led to a decommitment, and the remainder of 2024 was somewhat quiet given Wright's verified athleticism and two-way ability. Wright loves playing RB, and he found a home he could excel at the position in, announcing his committing to Minnesota-Duluth on NSD to the excitement of many Minnesota prep football fans. That's not one, but two legitimate former D1 commits for UMD out of their home state. Can't wait to watch this dude in the NSIC.

[player_tooltip player_id='641135' first='Josiah' last='Young'] (Totino-Grace) 2025. DB. 6'3, 170 lbs.

With a lot of turnover in the coaching staff at the University of Northern Iowa, Totino-Grace's long, athletic, and experienced CB [player_tooltip player_id='641135' first='Josiah' last='Young'] made a very late decommitment from the Panthers and hit the open market with a little more than a month before NSD. Luckily, some more in-conference coaching turnover led to some open DB spots at the heavyweight South Dakota State Jackrabbits, who reoffered the high-upside CB and earned a commitment from the Minneapolis product. Some late Top-15 movement out of hte MN 2025 class before NSD finished up.

What a land for the Tommies! Mogelson, a 651 product and legit FBS defensive tackle, transferred from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas after only a season out west. He didn't report any recruiting news after hitting the portal, but St. Thomas announced his commitment to the hometown D1 team on their NSD wave of tweets. Mogelson has great size on the interior and at a position and geographic region where that size/positional value is coveted. He held offers from Central Michigan, Ohio, Miami (OH), UNLV, Colorado State, Northern Illinois, and Wyoming out of high school, and you'd hope that talent would help contribute to the Tommies day one.
One of the more interesting and under-the-radar recruiting stories and prospects in Minnesota, Coon Rapids product Gavin Layton is heading to the NSIC after an accomplished JUCO career in Rochester with RCTC. Layton was a Class AAA heavyweight state champion on the wrestling mat who committed to Augsburg University out of high school to continue his amateur wrestling career. However, he couldn't kick the football fix, and committed to MN JUCO heavyweight RCTC, earning All-Conference honors as a freshman. It was also reported that Layton earned an offer from Colorado under Deion Sanders, but he came back to RCTC and finished as a 2x All-American, 2x All-Conference, and 2023 NJCAA national finalist. Looks like CSP earned his John Hancock, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this wealth of experience helps him move bodies in the Northern Sun.

Showed legit size and utility under the bright lights of US Bank Stadium during the 2024 Prep Bowl with Chatfield. Recruitment was fairly quiet though, but after he was named a Minnesota All-Star, Concordia-St. Paul reached out with an offer. Looks like Mankato snapped him up before NSD and added another accomplished MN small schooler to their roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='945891' first='Gannon' last='Bolgrean'] (Barnesville) 2025. ATH. - Heading to MSU-Moorhead

Tremendous career with the Class AA heavyweight Trojans as a triple-option quarterback/ATH. Led Barnesville to a state quarterfinal appearance in 2024, where they lost a 46-44 ball game to Staples-Motley in one of the best games of the season. Also led the Trojans to a Class AA state runner-up finish in 2023, where he posted 86 rushes for 1,056 yards and 16 total TDs despite missing five games with injuries.

[player_tooltip player_id='1190036' first='Mitchell' last='Olson'] (Mounds View) 2025. RB. - Heading to Bemidji State

Speedster on a Class 6A quarterfinalist in 2024, Olson blew up after an explosive performance at the UW-River Falls Mega Camp, where he clocked a blazing 4.49 40 to go along with a 34" vert, 4.31 shuttle, and 9'9.75" broad jump. Big reason for Mounds View's outstanding 2024 season that had no-doubt scholarship talent. Looks like BSU got this recruitment over the finish line.

[player_tooltip player_id='348733' first='Brecken' last='Keoraj'] (Elk River) 2025. ATH. - Heading to Northern State

One of the most dynamic athletes in Minnesota, Elk River's RB/DB/ATH extraordinaire is also one of the state's most athletic. This past summer, Keoraj had an excellent summer camp circuit in the testing department, posting bests of a 41.5" vert, 10' broad, 4.25 shuttle, and ran in the high 4.6s in the 40. A three-year varsity contributor and 2x state champion, Keoraj finished his career with 238 carries for 2,851 yards and 29 TDs as well as 98 tackles, 15 PBUs, 4 INTs, a FF, and a TFL. Murray State made a late push for his commitment, but Northern State finished it out strong.

[player_tooltip player_id='945919' first='Jacob' last='Williams'] (Aitkin) 2025. RB. - Heading to Southwest Minnesota State

An excellent wrestler for Aitkin, the future SMSU RB had an intriguing showing this summer in the testing department, coming in at 5'11, 220 and running in the low 4.7s in the 40, as well as good shuttles and an 8' broad. I love the bowling ball frame, dynamic prep football experience, and decorated wrestling background.

Jack Meier (Marshall) 2025. LB. 6'2, 210 lbs. - Heading to Southwest Minnesota State

Caught our eyes at the Prep Bowl in Marshall's brief experience at state. Hometown kid and a thumper at the contact point with good size to boot. Nice land for SMSU.

[player_tooltip player_id='1204375' first='Jacob' last='Lane'] (Pequot Lakes) 2025. OL. 6'5, 280 lbs. - Heading to Winona State

Another standout hog molly from the Prep Bowl, Lane was a beast under the bright lights of US Bank Stadium, and Winona State did a good job of nailing down one of the biggest and most athletic bodies left in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1583254' first='Gavin' last='Schaefer'] (Marshall) 2025. ATH. 6'1, 230 lbs. - Heading to Southwest Minnesota State

6'1, 230 lb. fullback and defensive end? Sign me up! Schaefer makes for another experienced and talented hometown land for SMSU, and I love how fullbacks, even if they get moved to another position in college, project and succeed into the NSIC. Great showing at US Bank Stadium during the Prep Bowl as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='348739' first='Blake' last='Krause'] (Lakeville North) 2025. DL/LB/ 6'3, 235 lbs. - Heading to Minnesota-Duluth

One of the most eye-catching tapes of the entire 2025 class, UMD once again dipped into the friendly recruiting waters of Lakeville North for an excellent late addition to their senior class. Krause played 6A off-ball linebacker at 6'3, 230+ as a senior, showing off mobility and sheer dominance at the contact point that you'd expect from a senior 'backer of his size. Looks like Krause will play DL at UMD, and has a great chance of continuing the Panthers next-level success in Duluth.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120579' first='Spencer' last='Lewis'] (Richfield) 2025. DL. 6'3, 265 lbs. - Heading to Minnesota-Duluth

[player_tooltip player_id='1120558' first='Kaleb' last='Ngwendson'] (Eastview) 2025. DL/WR. 6'2, 225 lbs. - Heading to Ellsworth CC

One of the most high-upside athletes of the 2025 class in Minnesota, Ngwendson is an easy choice for a rankings buster, as well as a must-know name to watch out of Minnesota heading to the JUCO ranks. Ngwendson is an outstanding athlete at a verified 6'2, 225+, running in the 4.8s, shuttling in the 4.5s and lower, and leaping over 10' in the broad CONSISTENTLY in the nearly double-digit exposure points we've had on Ngwendson the past twoish seasons. The Apple Valley product and Eastview senior also has two-way capability. I think the explosiveness lends itself best to a DE/EDGE position that rushes the passer in college, but Ngwendson loves playing on the offensive side of the ball and does have some juice as a TE/WR, which is where he will start his career at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa. Has all the makings of a Minnesotan that could explode as a #JUCOPRODUCT.

[player_tooltip player_id='1582440' first='Gavin' last='Sayadeth'] (Coon Rapids) 2025. WR/TE. - Heading to Rochester Community and Technical College

Another excellent JUCO signing from the Big School ranks, [player_tooltip player_id='1582440' first='Gavin' last='Sayadeth'] is maybe the biggest darkhorse prospect in Minnesota's entire 2025 class. Sayadeth measured in at 6'4, 199 this past summer, clocking fantastic testing times that included a 37.5" vertical, 4.68 40, 4.6 shuttle, and 10' broad to highlight some mouth-watering athleticism in a big, long body with room to fill in. The Coon Rapids senior tape shows that Sayadeth does have the ability to create splash plays and game-breaking offensive efforts, but for whatever reason, he just doesn't have a lot of tape and on-field production from his prep career. If Sayadeth can put it all together in Rochester, and put it together consistently, he's going to have college programs knocking down the doors to get at him.
