. Great size for the position at 6’2, 160, Young has a good multi-sport background that we’ve come to expect from MN’s top football recruits, playing basketball for TG’s excellent basketball program. He’s no doubt one of the most physically gifted cover corners in the state, with loose-looking hips, ball skills in droves, and the speed to stay on top of the deep ball as well as break and play first and second-level routes all over the field. Also a big asset in run support and overall very technically sound with his eyes, hips, hands, and footwork. No verified testing numbers yet and I haven’t gotten to see those aforementioned hips in person yet, so I’m interested to see if college coaches think his future lies best at CB or S. Either way he’s one of the top DB prospects in the state and an excellent addition to the PRzMN 2025 rankings.

The Totino-Grace sophomore DB makes a big-time debut on the 2025 rankings and comes in at #14 overall and as the #2 DB in the state of Minnesota. It’s about time the Eagles have another major football recruit, if you ask me! Young is a good one, with legit 6’2 size, a strong multi-sport background competing for TG’s outstanding basketball team, and a good head on his shoulders, not to mention his on-field exploits as well. As a CB, Young’s ball skills, loose hips, and proficiency in zone coverage, as well as off-man, are very impressive for his size and age and helped him snag a bunch of INTs and break up a ton of passes in 2022. With the speed to stay on top of deeper routes with ease, consistent eye discipline depending on the coverage, and the quickness out of his breaks to undercut and beautifully play shorter routes, Young is a stud in pass coverage, no two ways about it. Don’t worry, he also understands holding the edge and playing with leverage, and has no qualms with inserting himself in run support and beating blocks with physicality. The footwork and hips lead me to believe he can remain at CB for the duration of his prep career and into college, and at 6’2 and as athletic as he is there’s just no way college DB coaches aren’t going to come to Fridley to throw their names into the mix with this young man. I’m very excited about this young buck’s future.
