Undoubtedly one of the most talented and athletic wide receivers in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Benilde-St. Margaret’s 2025 pass-catcher Khalif Brown also happens to be one of the fastest. Explosive on tape, Brown has asserted himself as one of the state’s top recruits in the 2025 class, recently earning his first two offers from Kent State and Northern Iowa in the past few weeks. You’ve heard us talk about the talent-ridden Red Knights receiving corps for a couple of years now, and Brown has also asserted himself as the Top Dog of the group, posting a team-leading 70 receptions for 1,047 yards and 8 TDs in 11 games of action in 2023.
Another PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout who verified his speed as a sophomore in the winter of 2022, Brown generally operates out of the slot at the Z and is equally impressive before, during, and after the catch. The 6’1, 190 lber. possesses ample acceleration, even from a dead stop, that pops off the tape and leaves defenders grasping at air, and can turn a routine screen into a splash TD run, especially if you give him the edge. Owning a powerful frame and lower body helps him absorb and bounce off contact impressively well, Brown is elusive, powerful, quick, explosive after the catch, and possesses excellent balance & good moves when in 1-on-1 scenarios in space. He’s also a good route-runner who hits his landmarks, doesn’t round his cuts, is shifty, doesn’t indicate where he’s breaking to, is a willing blocker, and also moonlights as an explosive kick returner when the Red Knights need some special teams juice. Between how easily he burns past defenders and makes them look silly in the open field after the catch, it’s safe to say Brown is on a different plane of athleticism than his competition in 2023. BSM is a must-stop on the MN recruiting trail for college programs needing receivers.

1047 yards 8 touchdownsrnBrown is the most physical receiver on the list. His balance and footwork allow him to run like a running back – bouncing off tacklers and running through defenders. The offense uses him a lot like a running back. He excels in the screen and swing pass game – allowing him to operate in space. Once he gets in the open field, his speed and acceleration gets him separation from both guys trying to tackle him and guys trying to cover him. Usually operating out of the slot, Brown is physical without the ball, too. His blocking is much more physical than most receivers.

WR2 and the #17 overall ranked prospect since the latest PRzMN rankings update is another big piece of Benilde’s exciting underclassmen classes who showed off good speed, quickness, and explosiveness during December’s PRzMN Stock-Up Showcase. Khalif Brown also passes the eye test, and had a strong sophomore campaign that finished with 46 catches for 664 yards and 4 TDs with some big games against quality 4A and 5A competition. On tape, Brown is quick-footed, a playmaking deep threat, and strong and balanced after the catch, qualities he showed at the PRzMN Showcase besides the tackle-breaking ability, and I like watching him WR rocket/tunnel screens as well as take the top off the defense in posts, curls, and seam routes. Also does a good job of finding holes in zone coverage and settling well in space for his QB. Brown has, and will continue to be, a steadfast member at or near the top of the WR and overall ranking boards for the c/o 2025.

The heralded Red Knight sophomore racked up 664 receiving yards and 4 TDs as a sophomore and was a dangerous deep threat as well as redzone target this fall. With big play speed, good ball tracking skills, and the vertical ability to high point the football in the air, Brown was also slippery and speedy after the catch who can turn routine catches into big gains downfield. Obviously athletic, Brown needs to work his butt off this offseason in preparation for the all-important upperclassman campaign.
