[player_tooltip player_id='1078310' first='Brayden' last='Knox'] - Senior Linebacker - Putnam City

Putnam City opens up their playoff journey at home against Bartlesville. The Pirates are trying to pick up some momentum early after losing two of their last three games to finish the regular season. But when you look at the 6A-2 playoffs as a whole, there might not be another team with a better linebacker than the Pirates. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1078310' first='Brayden' last='Knox'] has been that guy for Putnam City for several seasons and he's looking to cap off his high school career by leading the Pirates on a long playoff run. This is a linebacker that checks all of the boxes and has been incredibly productive over the last several seasons. He'll try to cause havoc against a Bartlesville team that's starting a freshman at quarterback.

[player_tooltip player_id='211555' first='Cash' last='Williams'] - Senior Quarterback - Choctaw

Choctaw senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211555' first='Cash' last='Williams'] is one of the more underrated players in the state of Oklahoma and it feels like it's been that way for two seasons now. Williams is an absolute commander of the Choctaw offense and he has shown the ability to beat defenses with his arm as well as his legs. And he has taken his game to new heights this season, helping lead the Yellowjackets to a district championship and they've set themselves up with a favorable path to competing for the state championship. Whenever you're talking about this Choctaw team, you could put the spotlight on several players on either side of the ball but we're giving the nod to QB1 for his command of the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='315662' first='Dakota' last='Chaney'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Sapulpa

Sapulpa has been one of the tougher teams to figure out this season. They started and ended the year with three straight losses and had a streak of four straight wins sandwiched in between. But senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='315662' first='Dakota' last='Chaney'] has been a name we've known about for about two years now. But we've mostly seen Chaney tear it up at various 7v7 tournaments or camps but it's obvious that he's leading the way for the Sapulpa offense this season. Chaney is starting to get on the radar for college coaches, earning offers in the last month. Chaney is incredibly quick and knows how to get open. The Chieftains will lean on him in their first round game against Lawton Eisenhower on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='898115' first='Damien' last='Niko'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Bartlesville

There aren't many wide receivers that got off to as hot of a start as Bartlesville senior [player_tooltip player_id='898115' first='Damien' last='Niko'] did this season. Niko was putting up monster numbers in the first several games and while the Bruins were coming up short on the scoreboard, the senior standout was performing at a very high level. Now, the Bruins find themselves back in the playoffs and Niko is looking to get back to performing at that level that we saw him at earlier in the season. When he's playing like that, the Bartlesville senior is one of the best wide receivers in Class 6A-2 but they have a tough task in the first round of the playoffs. They go on the road to face Putnam City on Friday night and the Pirates have a very tough defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='492378' first='Deakon' last='Jones'] - Sophomore Wide Receiver - Stillwater

Stillwater sophomore wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='492378' first='Deakon' last='Jones'] is quickly becoming one of the best wide receivers in the state. We saw flashes of him becoming that type of player last season but he was a freshman on a loaded wide receiver depth chart. This season, he's without a doubt the top guy in the Stillwater passing game and he's performed at a very high level. We've watched Jones in person quite a bit over the last two years but it's mostly been in various 7v7 tournaments. He's a guy that is incredibly tough to slow down in a one on one situation. Jones and the Pioneers have this week off and will face the winner of PC North-Southmoore. A semifinal showdown with Muskogee could be looming but Jones will be ready.

[player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] - Junior Quarterback - Sand Springs

Sand Springs head coach Bobby Klinck told us earlier this season that junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] has put everything together and the light has come on. And that's been evident as Webb has become one of the top passers in the state this season and that goes for any class. Webb has always had the potential and all of the natural tools that you need from the quarterback position but you can definitely see that he's elevated his game this season. He's on the shortlist for most improved player in 2025 and he's helped guide the Sandites back to the playoffs, earning a first round bye. They'll face the winner of the Piedmont-Ponca City game in the quarterfinals. Webb looks to lead Sand Springs back to contending in 6A-2.

[player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] - Senior Quarterback - Muskogee

Muskogee just wrapped up their first undefeated regular season since 1980 and are now focused on defending their state championship. Leading the way for the Roughers is senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] and he might be leading the way as the state's very best player in 2024. The Texas State commit was a finalist for Player Of The Year a season ago and he might be the leader in the clubhouse as we begin the playoffs. The Roughers have been perfect this season and Ficklin has a chance to guide them to a second straight state title. He's one part of arguably the best backfield in Oklahoma this season. The Roughers have this week off and will face the winner of Bartlesville-Putnam City in the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555376' first='Jonston' last='Burke'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Ponca City

Ponca City starts their playoff journey on the road against Piedmont and we're putting the spotlight on sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1555376' first='Jonston' last='Burke'] at the quarterback position. Burke and the Wildcats but we have to tip our caps to them because they have essentially been in "playoff mode" since week nine. Ponca City had to win their last two games to get into the playoffs and that's exactly what they did. In week ten, with the winner getting the last playoff spot, Burke and the Ponca City offense absolutely rolled in their win on the road over Putnam City West. After winning their last two games, Ponca City certainly has some momentum coming into this week. Burke and the Wildcats will look to continue that on Friday in Piedmont.

[player_tooltip player_id='595674' first='Lane' last='Whitworth'] - Senior Defensive Back - Piedmont

Piedmont has punched their ticket to the playoffs in their first season in Class 6A-2 and we've already labeled them as the dark horse in this playoff bracket. They open up the postseason at home against Ponca City and we're looking at senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='595674' first='Lane' last='Whitworth'] as a player who could have a significant impact not only this week but moving forward. They face a Ponca City team that is gaining confidence in the passing game but Whitworth could erase that this week with his abilities to make plays in the secondary. And if Piedmont prevails in the first round, they would face a Sand Springs team that has one of the top passers in the state. Whitworth is going to play a very big role this month.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549980' first='Milton' last='Alford'] - Senior Running Back - Putnam City North

Putnam City North senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549980' first='Milton' last='Alford'] is on the short list for breakout star in Class 6A-2 this season. Three months ago, we didn't know much about Alford but that quickly changed. Alford would run for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, leading the Panthers back to the playoffs. Putnam City North will host Southmoore in the first round and that sets up a match-up between PC North's running game against Southmoore's defensive front. Alford has definitely been one of the better running backs in this class this season and will look to help lead them to a big playoff win. The senior has already shown this season that he's definitely capable of doing just that.

[player_tooltip player_id='1179993' first='Nakwaine' last='Carter'] - Junior Defensive Lineman - Southmoore

Southmoore is back into the playoffs and they go on the road to face Putnam City North. The Sabercats have several young players to keep an eye on this week and moving forward but we're putting the spotlight on junior [player_tooltip player_id='1179993' first='Nakwaine' last='Carter'] on the defensive line. Carter has the ability to be one of the more disruptive players in Class 6A-2 on the defensive side of the ball. And that's why we're going with him specifically for the match-up with Putnam City North. The Panthers have a breakout star at the running back position so we're looking at that match-up of their run game against Carter and the Southmoore defensive line. If Carter can cause problems again, the Sabercats could pull off the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='479394' first='Rashaud' last='Hurt'] - Senior Running Back - Lawton Eisenhower

Lawton Eisenhower has earned a playoff spot for the first time since 2017. Leading the way on the offensive side of the ball has been senior [player_tooltip player_id='479394' first='Rashaud' last='Hurt'] at the running back position. Simply put, Hurt is one of the best running backs in Class 6A-2 and in the state's senior class. He missed his junior season with a leg injury and has come back with a vengeance this season. The Lawton Eisenhower senior has shown that he can carry this offense at various times in the regular season. Hurt and the Eagles will open up their playoff journey on the road against Sapulpa on Friday night. Lawton Eisenhower is not lacking talent so don't be surprised if Hurt and the Eagles pull off the win and move on.
