[player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] - Junior Quarterback - Pryor

Anytime we're writing about this district in Class 5A we have to throw out the word "chaos" or "chaotic" when describing it. It feels like anybody can be beaten here so when Pryor hosts Collinsville on Friday night, it's going to go a long way to deciding some major playoff seedings. And for Pryor, they'll look to take a page out of the book of Claremore from last week. The Zebras beat the Cardinals behind an excellent performance from their dual-threat quarterback. Pryor junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] is another signal caller that has the ability to beat a defense with his arm or his legs. It seems simple enough but if Ward can just replicate what Claremore was able to do offensively, they will be in a great position moving forward in the district standings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1333179' first='Carter' last='Nathman'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Cascia Hall

Cascia Hall has a big game in Class 3A against a surprising Claremore Sequoyah squad. The Commandos have been tested quite a bit but their high-powered passing attack has them as one of the top teams in the class. Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1333179' first='Carter' last='Nathman'] is the player that we have highlighted because when you're talking about the Commandos, it's hard to not put the spotlight on the passing game. Nathman was a player that we had highlighted coming into this season and he's definitely lived up to the hype. He's been incredibly productive and this is coming off a terrific sophomore season. Nathman is definitely a wide receiver in the Tulsa area that deserves some more attention and if he has another big game on Friday night, that should continue to open some eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] - Junior Quarterback - Tuttle

At the end of the season, one of our postseason awards is the "Most Improved Player" and it's going to be hard to beat Tuttle junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] for this one. It started this offseason when we watched Campbell in person a handful of times and has continued this fall. There are few players in the state that have made a more significant jump than Campbell. He has definitely become one of the state's top quarterbacks and he has Tuttle in a position to contend for the state championship. But before they can do that, they have to take care of business at home against defending champion Blanchard. And this was a game last year that Tuttle continuously shot themselves in the foot with turnovers. Campbell and the Tigers look to erase that memory.

[player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] - Senior Quarterback - Muskogee

In our opinion, Muskogee quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] came into this season as the best quarterback in Oklahoma. And as we get closer to the end of October, nothing has changed that opinion. Ficklin has been as close to perfect as it gets, helping lead Muskogee to a perfect record and keeping the Roughers as the unquestioned team to beat in Class 6A-2. This week, we have a terrific district clash between Muskogee and Sand Springs. Both teams have been absolutely dominant since district play began and this will be the first real test for both teams since early to mid-September. For Ficklin, he's always performed well against the Sandites and he'll look to do it again this week. The Texas State commit is one of the more fun players to watch in Oklahoma.

[player_tooltip player_id='1473214' first='Ja' last='Posey'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Pocola

There aren't many quarterbacks in the state that are having the type of season that Pocola sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1473214' first='Ja' last='Posey'] is having. Just look at the numbers. In two of his last three games, Posey has thrown for over 500 yards. So when Pocola plays host to Hartshorne on Friday night, we have a feeling that the Indians are going to be throwing the ball all over the yard once again. Even in Pocola's two losses, the passing game has been tough to slow down. Posey is definitely a breakout player for us because we simply didn't know much of anything about him three months ago. But you can't argue with the production that he's had so far this season. He has Pocola as a serious team to keep an eye on in Class A-1 with the offense that's lighting up the scoreboard each week.

[player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] - Senior Quarterback - Stillwater

Stillwater is coming off a tough district loss on the road to Choctaw and now they have to bounce back immediately with another road game against Putnam City. Despite the loss to Choctaw, senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] really stood out and continued what has been a very solid senior season. We've written about Schubert a handful of times this fall because he's made the transition from Morrison to Stillwater look like an easy one. Schubert has been an absolute lightning rod for the Pioneer offense this season. He's thrown for 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions and he's also added seven touchdowns on the ground. He leads the team in rushing touchdowns and if the Pioneers are going to get a first round bye, this is a game they need to win.

[player_tooltip player_id='858873' first='Mykah' last='Washington'] - Junior Running Back - Booker T Washington

Booker T Washington has won five straight games following an 0-2 start and the Hornets are in a position to put a stranglehold on the district with a win this week at home against McAlester. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='858873' first='Mykah' last='Washington'] was a name for the Hornets to know coming into this season but it feels like since the beginning of October, he has elevated his game to another level. Two weeks ago, Washington was having a monster game against Bishop Kelley, where he scored three touchdowns and had over 200 yards. He also had some big runs in last week's win over East Central. Friday's game with McAlester features a terrific running back match-up with two guys that are playing some of their best football right now. Washington looks to continue to roll on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='595689' first='Ryder' last='Murphy'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Norman

Norman has a big district game on Friday night against a Deer Creek team that is coming off their first loss. Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='595689' first='Ryder' last='Murphy'] is the name to watch in this one because the Tigers have been able to have a lot of success in the passing game and Murphy is a big reason behind it. The quarterback has been great but Murphy has emerged as the team's leading receiver and he's a name that we have circled now when it comes to the state's 2026 class at this position. And this position is absolutely loaded with talent but Murphy is a name that we want to see more of moving forward. In this game, Deer Creek has some talent in their secondary so Murphy isn't going to have an easy game. But he's caught at least one touchdown in every game this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1096341' first='Sam' last='Stone'] - Senior Tight End/Linebacker - Jenks

The word "underrated" gets thrown around a lot when talking or writing about players but it fits here. Jenks senior [player_tooltip player_id='1096341' first='Sam' last='Stone'] is one of the more underrated players in Oklahoma and should definitely get more credit statewide. Stone is leading a Jenks defense that is turning the corner and starting to dominate. They have a ton of momentum coming off a shutout victory over Deer Creek and now they hit the road to face Moore. Stone hit some lofty milestones in Jenks history with career interceptions and tackles and that's another reason why he's one of the more underrated players in the state. He's in the top ten for both categories now at a program like Jenks. Let that sink in for a moment. Not to mention his recruitment is picking up in a major way from D1 programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1005608' first='Tanner' last='Perry'] - Senior Quarterback - Pauls Valley

When it comes to the Heritage Hall-Pauls Valley match-up, there are standout players on both sides. One of the more underrated players in this game could be Pauls Valley senior [player_tooltip player_id='1005608' first='Tanner' last='Perry'] at the quarterback position. Perry has had the ability to beat defenses with his arm and his legs over the last two seasons. This year, Pauls Valley is headlined by one of the best running backs in Oklahoma but Perry should not be overlooked as an overall playmaker. Last week, Plainview had Heritage Hall on the ropes and the Panthers look to finish the job this week. Earlier in the season, Perry wasn't playing at 100 percent but when he's there, this Pauls Valley backfield is definitely one of the top units in Class 3A and in the state from a production standpoint.
