The Prep Redzone 7v7 circuit made it’s way through Oklahoma this weekend as the second annual Sooner State Shootout took place in Broken Arrow. We had a great weekend of football and saw so many players at all levels making plays both days. Congratulations to our champions of the tournament! TheUNIT Platinum continued their dominant offseason by winning the 18U title. Sooner 7 took home the 15U and 14U championships and had a runner up finish in 12U while Level Up 7v7 would win that 12U crown but they also had teams make the 18U and 15U championship games.
From player breakdowns in all divisions to photos and video highlights, Prep Redzone is committed to being America’s Most Covered 7v7 Circuit. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more players breakdowns and follow our social channels for photos and video highlights! In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on the F3 Dawgs. This is a new 7v7 program that is made up of Edmond Memorial athletes. Led by one of the top quarterbacks in the state, they’re looking to not only have success on the 7v7 circuit but build chemistry for this fall.
We were fired up to see 2025 wide receiver Billy McDown Billy McDown 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK heading into this weekend’s tournament and he didn’t disappoint. McDown is a terrific athlete that has emerged as one of Edmond Memorial’s top targets in the passing game. And after watching him in person and up close, it looks like he’s grown an inch or two and that definitely increases his stock as a receiver prospect. McDown showcased strong hands all weekend and there was a competitive drive throughout the two days that was obvious. McDown wanted to win every single one on one situation. The Bulldogs do lose some production from the receiver position and that could open up the door for McDown to become hands down the team’s top target. He impressed us this weekend.
Highlights
The F3 Dawgs had an Edmond Memorial freshman playing up making plenty of plays at the 18U level throughout the weekend. 2027 ATH Colton McComb Colton McComb 6’2″ | 195 lbs | ATH Edmond Memorial | 2027 State OK stood out to us on both sides of the ball and he certainly fits the “ATH” position as someone who fits in several different roles. On defense, McComb excelled as a linebacker, patrolling the middle of the field. On offense, he could be a safety blanket for the quarterback as a tight end and make something happen after the catch. McComb is a young prospect that we’re very intrigued to watch moving forward. We like his film, he’s performed very well at our camps and if this weekend was any indication, it’s only a matter of time before he has a significant impact on Friday nights.
Highlights
While his younger brother Colton was making a name for himself, 2025 quarterback David McComb David McComb 6’3″ | 215 lbs | QB Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK came into this weekend’s tournament as one of the top signal callers in the state. McComb has all the physical tools to be a next level quarterback and he’s been committed to Kansas for a while now. The Edmond Memorial product also put up monster numbers last fall for the Bulldogs and he did a good job of running the offense this weekend. The arm strength is absolutely off the charts and was on full display throughout Saturday and Sunday. As we mentioned above, tournaments like this and later this offseason will have an impact on this fall as McComb work on and use the terminology that they’ll see this fall with the Bulldogs.
