Edmond Memorial wide receiver Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK was a player that we had circled before the season that had all signs pointing towards a monster senior season. First off, Edmond Memorial lost quite a bit of production from the wide receiver position and McDown was primed to become the top target in the Edmond Memorial offense. That’s what’s happened as he’s a big play waiting to happen in this Edmond Memorial offense. Now, it should be noted that the Bulldogs have been running the ball at a much higher rate this season so McDown’s opportunities have been limited. But he’s definitely a prospect with a high upside and his best football still ahead of him.

The one hole on the offensive side of the ball is the wide receiver position but the Bulldogs feel confident that they have one guy in mind there. Senior Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK has had a terrific offseason and we believe that he will emerge as Edmond Memorial’s leading receiver this season. McDown had a good season a year ago but this year, he could see his production absolutely explode. We’ve seen McDown in person a handful of times this offseason, specifically working with Edmond Memorial’s quarterback and in each instance, he was lights out and showed a lot of promise. It will not surprise us at all if McDown becomes one of the top wide receivers in 6A-1 football this fall.

A lot of what we wrote about Olds can be repeated here with Edmond Memorial standout Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK because he has all the potential in the world. He finally had his breakout moment last season with the Edmond Memorial passing offense and as we go into this season, don’t be surprised if McDown ends up being the leading receiver at the 6A-1 level. He put up strong numbers last fall and we could see that production receive a significant spike. We first learned of McDown when he was a freshman and the ceiling was incredibly high. Now, McDown is reaching that potential and college coaches should give him a look as he tears up 6A-1 this fall.

We were fired up to see 2025 wide receiver Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK heading into this weekend’s tournament and he didn’t disappoint. McDown is a terrific athlete that has emerged as one of Edmond Memorial’s top targets in the passing game. And after watching him in person and up close, it looks like he’s grown an inch or two and that definitely increases his stock as a receiver prospect. McDown showcased strong hands all weekend and there was a competitive drive throughout the two days that was obvious. McDown wanted to win every single one on one situation. The Bulldogs do lose some production from the receiver position and that could open up the door for McDown to become hands down the team’s top target. He impressed us this weekend.

Edmond Memorial 2025 wide receiver Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK enjoyed a breakout season during the fall of 2023. McDown has been an athlete that we’ve had on our radar for a while now. There is a lot of potential with McDown and he started scratching the surface on it last season. McDown will be playing with the F3 Dawgs this weekend and it’s a team made up primarily of Edmond athletes. McDown will be catching passes from his HS teammate at quarterback so chemistry will be big.

We first heard about Edmond Memorial’s Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK last season when he was a sophomore at Carl Albert. This season, he’s part of a three-headed monster at wide receiver that has benefitted from having one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 class getting them the ball. McDown is the third leading receiver on this team and he still has nearly 500 yards. He got off to a great start to the year in the first few games this season. What’s going to be interesting to follow with McDown is his progression in the next twelve months. Because the top two wide receivers in this offense will graduate. McDown will be hands down the top returning playmaker at wide receiver. With a strong offseason and then an explosion in production next fall, it will be fun to see where he ends up compared to the rest of the class.

We kick off this breakdown with yet another Carl Albert Titan in sophomore Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK . We’ve already written about several of them this week. And we’ve said it before but we’ll say it again right now, the 2025 class at Carl Albert is special. We were told about McDown last summer and how versatile the young playmaker was but he was still growing. As mentioned before, we saw Carl Albert quite a bit in person and each time, it felt like McDown had gained an inch or so in his height and by the time the state championship rolled around, he no longer looked like a sophomore. McDown primarily played on defense in 2022 but he has the ability to be a playmaker on the offensive side of the ball as well. While we might be leaning to defense for him right now, it’s still too early to tell.

And there’s no doubt that Billy McDown Billy McDown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK is the most versatile of the bunch and that’s what’s earned him his spot as an athlete in the recent ranking update. We’ve mentioned this a few times already this year but Carl Albert coaches are very excited about not only where McDown is right now but where he’ll be in a few years. They’ve used him in a variety of ways already this season and whether it’s on offense or defense, McDown has the ability to be a gamechanger on a team that looks like they’re full of them.
