It was around this time last year that we first caught Westmoore standout

in person and in our opinion, he’s been one of the better prospects in the state’s 2028 class ever since. Benson had a terrific offseason leading into his sophomore season. It was a sophomore season full of growing pains as Westmoore was incredibly young and definitely went through the fires of 6A-1 competition. But now looking ahead to the 2026 season, there’s a lot to be excited about when you consider how much Westmoore has coming back now. And the conversation, in our opinion, starts with Benson on both sides of the ball. He’s a terrific wide receiver but he’s also a lockdown cornerback on defense. The athletic ability is off the charts here.

It’s been a tough season for Westmoore but the future could be bright because the Jaguars have a lot of young players playing, going through plenty of growing pains. Sophomore

is a player that could be the cornerstone of the Jaguars getting back to winning moving forward. Offensively, Benson is an absolute playmaker at the wide receiver position. Defensively, he’s a lockdown cornerback that is getting better and better. We watched Benson multiple times this spring and he tore it up every time. There weren’t many players that impressed us more than Benson during that stretch. He’s a player and a prospect to watch moving forward. Similar to Compton-Nero, he’s an ATH right now but the future could be DB.

is knocking on the door of being a top five prospect and it’s very simple why. He wins. Every single time we’ve watched Benson in person, he’s been one of the best players on the field. It started at our January camp, when he earned MVP honors. He continued that dominant play at two of our 7v7 tournaments this spring. We then caught him in person and with the pads on at the Bixby team camp and he was making play after play. It doesn’t matter if he’s lining up as a wide receiver or a cornerback, Benson is an absolute playmaker and a star in the making. There are not many prospects that impressed us more from January to May this offseason than Benson so we’re buying up all the stock in the potential Westmoore star.

is a new name to our radar when it comes to the 2028 class. He was an unknown prior to our camp in late January. Benson not only showed up and showed out, he was one of the best players in attendance, regardless of the position. And Benson did it as a freshman, competing against plenty of juniors and sophomores. Benson has also stood out in several 7v7 tournaments this offseason. But on the flip side, we need to see him perform like this with the pads on and when the lights come on in the fall. Benson has looked really good this offseason but we’re fired up to see how much of that strong play translates in 6A-1 football. Benson has stood out on offense and defense over the last few months but if we had to pick one position right now, we’ll give the slight edge to wide receiver.
