For the second straight ranking update, Bixby tight end and defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1689504' first='Connor' last='Arant'] is the top overall prospect in the state's 2028 class. And looking back on last season, Arant was just scratching the surface on what he will ultimately be for the Spartans. Last year, Arant was a sophomore on a very senior-heavy roster. He felt like the state's best role player as he would come in for certain moments on both sides of the ball and he always delivered. Now, Arant is going to get significantly more playing time and we cannot wait to see where he shines brightest. Offensively, he is a nightmare to defend as a tight end with size, strength and very reliable hands. Defensively, he's a nightmare coming off the edge in passing situations.

We cannot wait to watch [player_tooltip player_id='1689513' first='Breck' last='Brady'] as he joins the Mustang Broncos this season. Going back and watching his film last season, Brady was an undeniable beast on both sides of the football for Bethany. Offensively, Brady is a terrific tight end that feels like the ultimate red zone threat for any passing attack. That's where he was dominant in the last two seasons. Defensively, he was an absolute monster coming off the edge for the Bethany defense. There were several instances where Brady looked like a grown man going against middle schoolers. Now, the competition gets ratcheted up as he makes the move to 6A-1's Mustang. But how the Broncos end up using Brady is going to be so fun to watch this season.

Choctaw standout [player_tooltip player_id='1642493' first='Kentrell' last='Gaddis II'] feels like the ultimate example of an "athlete" when it comes to talking about him as a prospect. Now, it feels like Gaddis is primarily being recruited as a safety or general DB prospect and maybe we'll move him to that position on the website at some point. But for now, just enjoy all the different things he's able to do on the football field. Offensively, Gaddis is equally as dangerous lining up as a running back in the backfield or being split out at wide receiver. Defensively, he's a hard-hitting safety that can also drop back and coverage and be the ultimate centerfielder in the Choctaw defense. Finally, he's a home run threat in the return game. He's a complete football player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1599209' first='Knoxtyn' last='Rallo'] joins Gaddis as a versatile weapon on the Yellowjacket roster. Rallo spent his first two seasons at Piedmont and now he's at Choctaw. In the last few years, we've seen Rallo on film playing multiple positions on both sides of the ball and he was also a threat in the return game. A lot of his game is very similar to Gaddis so now the Yellowjackets have two players they are going to be able to move around and use in a variety of ways. Rallo is also one of the faster prospects on this breakdown. There is no doubt that Choctaw will get creative with ways to get Rallo involved. It feels like the Yellowjackets might end up with three or four home run threats on the field at one time and Rallo is definitely in that group.

[player_tooltip player_id='451430' first='Tommalik' last='Benson'] first got on our radar a little over a year ago following his freshman season at Westmoore. He absolutely tore it up at our offseason events. First, he was a standout at our showcase camp and then followed that up by dominating multiple 7v7 tournaments. Fast forward to this summer and Benson has made the move north to Edmond Memorial and he joins a Bulldog team where he can absolutely flourish on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Benson was lights out when we caught the Bulldogs in person at the Bixby team camp. He was a lockdown corner that made play after play when he was challenged. Offensively, we've seen what he can do and think he gives them a dynamic playmaker at receiver.

Cushing two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1633137' first='Lane' last='Simpson'] was a player that we circled around this time last season as being a potential breakout star for the Tigers in 2025. He certainly lived up to all the preseason hype as he emerged as an All State player and one of the best two-way players in the state. Now, coming into his junior season, Simpson will look to be one of the top receiving weapons in Class 4A and in the state. Defensively, he'll look to carry over the momentum from last season, where he emerged as an absolute ball hawk in the Cushing secondary. We got a chance to watch Simpson in person a few times this offseason and he was at his absolute best with the pads on at team camp and we can't wait to see what he does for an encore this fall.

Plainview standout [player_tooltip player_id='1259549' first='Dominique' last='Coursey'] continues to be a name to know in the 2028 class for what he's able to do on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Coursey could end up being an absolute star at the wide receiver position. He's a big target and a player that can make a play in the blink of an eye. You look at his production there and he averaged a lot of yards per catch. He was also incredibly productive on the defensive side of the ball as a hard-hitting linebacker. He's another player that feels like he is just as equally impactful on both sides of the ball. It's been a busy month for Coursey as he has been tearing things up on the camp circuit. He's a big reason why we like Plainview heading into the 2026 football season.

Wide receiver and cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='2165485' first='Gage' last='LeFrere'] is a prospect to watch this fall as he joins the 6A-1 champions at Bixby. LeFrere spent the last two years at Pryor. He had a solid freshman season on the defensive side of the ball and then became more of a two-way threat last year and was a big part of arguably Pryor's best season in recent memory. This year, LeFrere is joining a Bixby roster that has to replace their entire secondary and all of their production at the wide receiver position. There will be opportunities for LeFrere to step into those roles and make plays against 6A-1 competition week in and week out. The transition from 5A football to 6A-1 football is one thing but he is joining a team that has won eight straight titles.

Norman North two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1834568' first='John' last='Paul Lundquist'] is another two-way prospect to watch out for in 6A-1 this season. Lundquist had a really strong sophomore season and he did it almost entirely on the defensive side of the ball. He emerged as a productive safety in the Norman North secondary. He ended up being a guy that was always around the football and was a heat-seeking missile when he got to his target. Now, we've also got a chance to watch Lundquist in person in multiple 7v7 tournaments this offseason. And in each instance, he was a standout on the offensive side of the ball. Offseason 7v7 tournaments aren't the same as Fridays in the fall but there is no doubt that he's a playmaker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836884' first='Jr' last='Harris'] is another example of a 2028 prospect on this breakdown that has made a move this offseason to a 6A-1 program and will see a step up in competition on a weekly basis. Harris was a big part of Bishop McGuinness and their run to the 5A state title last season. Now, he looks to take that versatility and overall playmaking ability to Deer Creek this fall. Offensively, Harris will be used in a variety of ways because it's pretty clear that he's a spectacular playmaker. Defensively, he'll also see time at cornerback and can end up making plays there and in special teams. We got a chance to watch Harris and the Antlers this spring and he really impressed us with that added dimension to the Deer Creek offense.
