Throughout the month of February, Prep Redzone Oklahoma is updating our prospect rankings for each class. And for the state’s 2026 class, we’ve updated the rankings and expanded it to 100 prospects. On Monday, we released the 2026 Top 100 and throughout the week, we’ll be putting the spotlight on different players and position groups. In this post, we’re putting that spotlight on five running backs to watch in this 2026 class. Owasso RB Jayson Moll Jayson Moll 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Owasso | 2026 State OK was covered earlier in this week in our Stock Risers article and Deer Creek RB Lemar Davis Lemar Davis 5'8" | 150 lbs | RB Deer Creek | 2026 State OK was covered in our Top Newcomers article. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more prospect breakdowns within the 2026 class. And check back each Monday this month for another class update!
Valliant sophomore Kenny Golston Kenny Golston 6’1″ | 210 lbs | RB Valliant | 2026 State OK has been one of the state’s best running back prospects for two years now. As a freshman, Golston already looked the part as a prospect. In fact, when you look at the state’s 2026 class as a whole, you can make the argument that Golston is in the conversation for the most physically impressive prospect. Golston has impressed so much physically that college coaches are starting to wonder if he has a future on the defensive side of the ball. Golston has seen his recruitment start to take off and he remains as a top ten overall prospect in the 2026 class. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Golston throughout the offseason as he plays in 7v7 tourneys with C4 out of Durant.

Newcastle sophomore TJ Bradford TJ Bradford 6’0″ | RB Newcastle | 2026 State OK was one of the best players in Class 4A last season and nothing will change as we head into 2024. Now, Bradford first got on our radar as a running back following a strong freshman season. But he saw his production absolutely explode on the offensive side of the ball during his sophomore campaign. Now, with Bradford, it’s going to be interesting to watch his career over the next two seasons. Because he also has the ability to make plays at the cornerback position on defense. So we could very well see Bradford become more of an athlete prospect moving forward. But there’s no denying that Bradford has been incredibly productive at running back and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Victory Christian sophomore Dallas Dyer Dallas Dyer 5’10” | 185 lbs | RB Victory Christian | 2026 State OK is a story of “what could have been” when it comes to the 2023 season. Dyer was absolutely electric when he was healthy and on the field. He impacted the running game, the passing game and returned kicks. Whenever he had the ball in his hands, he had the potential to take it to the house and this was a very explosive Victory Christian offense. Now, Dyer is nearly 100 percent and ready to make up for that lost time last fall. After seeing very limited playing time as a freshman at Broken Arrow, Dyer moved over to Victory Christian and became the go-to weapon on the offensive side of the ball. We’re looking forward to seeing what Dyer is able to do this fall when he’s healthy and ready to run.

There are quite a few prospects in the state’s 2026 class that have the potential to skyrocket up the rankings and become truly elite and running back Anthony Johnson Anthony Johnson 6’1″ | 200 lbs | RB Norman | 2026 State OK is in that conversation. Johnson looks the part physically and if he can stay healthy, he is primed for a big 2024 season. Johnson was a standout for Southmoore during his sophomore campaign but he has moved south to Norman and will be joining the Tigers. Norman has had a good run of running backs in the last few years and Johnson could be an instant impact player for the Tigers. Again, if Johnson stays healthy, there’s no reason why he can’t be productive and become one of the better running backs in 6A-1. The ceiling is very high with Johnson moving forward.

Choctaw has some serious talent returning on the offensive side of the ball in the skills department. Sophomore running back Mayor Morgan Mayor Morgan 5’6″ | 170 lbs | RB Choctaw | 2026 State OK is just one example of a player that is primed to make some big plays in 2024. Morgan is going to bring some versatility to the Choctaw offense and they have quite a few versatile athletes that can do multiple things well. Morgan is just as dangerous in the passing game as he is as a traditional running back. Morgan is going to be a name to watch not only this fall but moving forward. He’s also a traditional undersized speedster. The size might be thought of as an issue but as we always say when it comes to the guys that are lightning fast, you can’t tackle what you can’t get your hands on.
