Throughout the month of February, Prep Redzone Oklahoma is updating our prospect rankings for each class. And for the state’s 2025 class, we’re updating the rankings and expanding it to 175 prospects. Earlier this week, we released the 2025 Top 175 and throughout the week, we’ll be putting the spotlight on different players and position groups. In this post, we’re putting that spotlight on the wide receiver and tight end positions. This is an absolutely loaded class. Four players from this group are in the top ten rankings and the rest of the class is littered with talent at wide receiver and tight end.
Earlier this week, we broke down Washington TE Nate Roberts Nate Roberts 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE Washington | 2025 State OK , Douglass WR Jaden Nickens Jaden Nickens 6'4" | WR Douglass | 2025 State OK , Carl Albert WR Trey Washington Trey Washington 6'3" | WR Carl Albert | 2025 State OK and Checotah WR Elijah Thomas Elijah Thomas 6'0" | WR Checotah | 2025 State OK in our Top Ten Spotlight. Plainview standout Shepherd Sisemore Shepherd Sisemore 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Plainview | 2025 State OK had the spotlight on him in our Top Stock Risers article. And Bixby WR Blake Hogshooter Blake Hogshooter 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Bixby | 2025 State OK was featured in our Top Newcomer article. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more prospect breakdowns within the 2025 class. And check back each Monday this month for another class update!
Moore wide receiver CJ Simon CJ Simon 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Moore | 2025 State OK has been an absolute star on the football field since his freshman season. As a freshman and sophomore, Simon was simply a playmaker and no matter where the Lions put him, he found a way to make plays. Last season, Simon really settled into his role as a wide receiver and became one of the top receivers in 6A-1 and in the state. Now, moving forward, Simon and the Lions are incredibly hungry to make it to the playoffs after knocking on the door the last several seasons. Simon is also one of the top overall prospects in his class and he’s going to end up playing college football at a high level. He recently reopened his recruitment after being committed to Nebraska.

The state’s 2025 class is shaping up to be one of the more star-studded classes in recent memory. Because of that, a player like Star Spencer wide receiver Lehmantre Olds Lehmantre Olds 6’3″ | 190 lbs | WR Star Spencer | 2025 State OK is flying under the radar. In most classes, Olds would be a top five wide receiver and would be flirting with being a top 15-20 overall prospect. But the class is loaded. Despite that, Olds is not a player that should be flying under the radar moving forward. We wrote about him quite a bit last spring and summer after watching him in person at the Choctaw team camp. The wideout is an absolute star in the making. He has all the tools to be an impact player at the next level and should be recruited as such.
Highlights
Lawton Eisenhower wide receiver Serri Sheridan Serri Sheridan 5’10” | WR Lawton Eisenhower | 2025 State OK is in a similar boat to Olds out of Star Spencer. In most years, Sheridan would be widely known across the state as one of the top overall playmakers. But the time for flying under the radar is over for Sheridan. There’s no more excuses as to why he’s not getting more looks at the next level. Sheridan is a player that can make plays all over the field. Right now, we like him at the wide receiver position but there is certainly a lot of versatility to his game and he could play in a few different spots. We think that 2024 could be a big season for Lawton Eisenhower as they move up to 6A-2 and Sheridan could benefit from that.
The state’s 2025 tight end class is getting deeper and deeper. Not only does this position feature the top overall prospect in the class, it has players littered throughout the recent ranking update. Pauls Valley tight end Jon Grimmett Jon Grimmett 6’4″ | TE Pauls Valley | 2025 State OK is a newcomer to the rankings and we have completely bought in to what their coaches were telling us back in the fall. They mentioned that Grimmett was a next level talent, we put on the tape and we can’t do anything else but agree. He has size, skill and athleticism that you don’t see packaged together as well as Grimmett shows. And he’s starting to garner the attention of college coaches, picking up his first offer this year.
Millwood wide receiver Xzavier Thompson Xzavier Thompson 5’10” | 145 lbs | WR Millwood | 2025 State OK has been on our radar for a while now and it’s great to see that he’s now on the radar of college coaches. In the last month, Thompson picked up his first D1 offer and he shows no signs of slowing down as we head into the spring and summer months. And that phrase right there, “signs of slowing down” is used on purpose with Thompson because he has one gear and that’s fast. Thompson is routinely the fastest player on the football field week after week. He made some huge plays for the Falcons as a junior and is primed for an even bigger senior season. Thompson should be the go-to target in the Millwood offense.
