That game was headlined by Heritage Hall senior star [player_tooltip player_id='207182' first='Andy' last='Bass'] absolutely stealing the show on the offensive side of the ball. Bass could not be stopped as he racked up some monster numbers. He was 22-30 for nearly 350 yards and three touchdowns. He would also add 90 rushing yards on 14 carries and he found the end zone three times on the ground. Bass had a 91-yard touchdown run negated by a penalty but just a few plays later he would throw an 89-yard touchdown. The OU commit was outstanding on Thursday.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["363852"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Class 4A's #3 Blanchard rolled to an easy win over Noble on Friday night and they let their offense cook, pun intended. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='363852' first='Carson' last='Cooksey'] was lights out on Friday as he would finish with 350 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 22-29 passing. He also added two touchdowns on the ground. The Lions are a real contender in Class 4A and they opened their 2023 football season with an impressive win. But the schedule really starts to heat up this week as they will go on the road to face 5A's #5 Piedmont. This is going to be a massive challenge for the Lions but if week one was any indication, Cooksey and the Blanchard offense will be ready for the challenge on Friday.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["209872"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Edmond Memorial stunned Deer Creek in the final seconds to win 34-31. And junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='209872' first='David' last='McComb'] was the hero as he tossed a short touchdown with less than a minute to play to beat Deer Creek on the road. It was McComb's fourth passing touchdown on the night and it capped off a career night for the Kansas commit. McComb finished with 462 yards and four touchdowns on 30-47 passing. McComb set a few records to go along with his clutch performance down the stretch. He broke the school's all time passing record for a career and he's going to put that number at a mark that might not be reached again. McComb has had a great start to his junior season.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["154214"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Owasso bounced back in a big way following their week zero loss to Bixby. The Rams would play host to Jenks and would win 34-28 but the final score is not indicitive of how the game played out. They led 34-7 at one point before Jenks rallied. But the Rams would hold on to win and senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='154214' first='Deuce' last='Chalk'] perhaps had his breakout moment. Chalk finished the game with five catches for just over 200 yards and three touchdowns. Chalk has been a 2024 wide receiver that we have liked for a while now and it's not surprising to see him put up those kinds of numbers. Friday's performance over Jenks could spark Chalk's recruitment and get him on more radars moving forward.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["379243"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Class A's defending champion Fairview improved to 2-0 on the season with a shutout victory over Chisholm. Last year, when Fairview was enjoying a perfect season, they had a sophomore quarterback leading the way on offense. [player_tooltip player_id='379243' first='Jax' last='Bernard'] is back and is picking up where he left off. Bernard put up impressive numbers in their win on Friday night. He finished with 253 passing yards and four touchdowns. He also added just over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Bernard is firmly establishing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in Class A and in the state in general. The junior has been lights out so far as the Yellowjackets have extended their winning streak to 17 straight games.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_5_player":["192621"],"_player_evaluations_5_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"One of the bigger questions coming into this season was how Metro Christian would replace their star quarterback Kirk Francis from a year ago. But the Patriots would once again prove that they are a quarterback factory as senior [player_tooltip player_id='192621' first='Jaxson' last='Grimes'] has moved into that position and he flourished in their season-opening win over NOAH. Grimes would throw for nearly 400 yards and four touchdowns as he completed 30 of his 54 passes. Grimes is a special athlete and he is going to make sure that the Metro offense doesn't take a step back this fall. Now, Grimes and the Patriots will get a big test in week two as they play host to 4A's #2 Poteau, who has a very talented and stingy defense.","_player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_6_player":["360245"],"_player_evaluations_6_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_6_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_6_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"After two straight years, it's very clear that Sapulpa senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='360245' first='Marco' last='Smith'] loves to play against Tahlequah. On Friday night, the Chieftains rallied from a 28-12 halftime deficit to stun the Tigers when Smith scored the game-winning touchdown with just 19 seconds remaining. This was the second consecutive season that Smith scored what would be the game-winning touchdown against Tahlequah with less than a minute to play. It also capped off an impressive night for the Sapulpa senior as they bounced back from their rivalry loss to Sand Springs. He finished with nearly 250 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries. None bigger than his final carry of the game.","_player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_7_player":["393973"],"_player_evaluations_7_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_7_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_7_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_7_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_7_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_7_evaluation":"Westmoore bounced back from their week zero loss to Union by going on the road and beating up on Yukon in week one. Leading the way in the win was senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='393973' first='Micheal' last='Graham'] at the quarterback position. He was truly dynamic with the numbers he put up on Friday night. He finished 21-27 for 176 yards and a touchdown. But then he also added just under 200 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Graham showed flashes of that dynamic playmaking ability in week zero against Union but it was on full display on Friday night. Graham is committed to Houston to play defense and he also enjoyed a solid night on that side of the ball as the Jags rolled to the week one win.","_player_evaluations_7_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_8_player":["110739"],"_player_evaluations_8_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_8_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_8_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_8_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_8_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_8_evaluation":"2A's #9 Beggs rolled to a 48-0 win over Hugo on Friday night to kick off their 2023 football season. And the legend of senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='110739' first='Red' last='Martel'] continued to grow as he could not be stopped. He finished with 266 yards and four touchdowns on the night. He only carried the ball 13 times on the night. The Kansas commit was truly special with the football in his hands and he's been that way since early on in his career. Martel and the Demons now turn their attention to a growing Class 2A rivalry in week two. They will host #10 Rejoice Christian in a rematch of last year's first round playoff game. After being blown out by Rejoice in the regular season, Beggs blew out Rejoice in the playoffs.","_player_evaluations_8_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_9_player":["188014"],"_player_evaluations_9_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_9_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_9_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_9_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_9_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_9_evaluation":"For the second straight week, Union junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='188014' first='Shaker' last='Reisig'] finds himself on this breakdown. Reisig and the Redhawks had a dominant second half showing against Broken Arrow in their home opener. Reisig would finish with just over 300 yards and four touchdowns on 27-35 passing. It was the second straight week that Reisig threw for more than 300 yards and at least four touchdowns with no interceptions. Reisig has been absolutely outstanding so far through the first two weeks of the season. Now all the attention shifts to week two's rivalry clash with Jenks. And for those not familiar with the Reisig story. He started for Jenks as a freshman before moving to Union last spring.","_player_evaluations_9_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":10,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-64f47fff189fd"} /-->
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

[player_tooltip player_id='268315' first='AJ' last='Lyons-Jerrell'] - 2025 Running Back - Pocola

Pocola bounced back in week one after a heartbreaking loss to Heavener in week zero. The Indians beat Hackett, Arkansas to improve to 1-1 on the season. They had a few different players really shine on Friday. He accounted for over 200 yards of total offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='294262' first='Alex' last='Shieldnight'] - 2025 Linebacker - Wagoner

4A's top-ranked and defending champion Wagoner kicked off their season with a dominant win over rival Coweta on Friday night. Junior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='294262' first='Alex' last='Shieldnight'] is one of the top players at the position and he showed that in the season opener. He finished with four sacks in the win over the Tigers. Shieldnight already looks in midseason form.

[player_tooltip player_id='1005610' first='Austin' last='Solis'] - 2025 Running Back/Linebacker - Mangum

Mangum improved to 2-0 on the season with another impressive win on Friday night over Comanche. Leading the way on both sides of the ball was junior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1005610' first='Austin' last='Solis']. He ran for over 125 yards and three touchdowns. He also stood out on defense as he added 12 tackles on defense and had two sacks on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='487629' first='Connor' last='Phelps'] - 2024 Linebacker - Casady

After being somewhat limited during his junior year, playing with a cast, Casady senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='487629' first='Connor' last='Phelps'] has made up for lost time. Phelps looked really good in their week one win on Friday night. Phelps finished the night with 15 tackles and he also had an interception. Phelps is a 2024 linebacker on the rise and this is a big season for him.

[player_tooltip player_id='402373' first='Dallas' last='Dyer'] - 2026 Running Back - Victory Christian

For the second straight week, Victory Christian sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='402373' first='Dallas' last='Dyer'] has found his way on this breakdown after the Conquerors beat up on Henryetta on Friday night. On defense, he forced two fumbles on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='628151' first='Fisher' last='Marr'] - 2024 Linebacker - Ada

It was the 100th meeting between rivals Ada and Ardmore on Friday night and Ada won in an absolute blowout. Senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='628151' first='Fisher' last='Marr'] had another impressive performance with 11 tackles and an interception on the night. It was the second straight week he had double-digit tackles. He also had a pair of short-yardage touchdown runs on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1041938' first='Jordan' last='Warrior'] - 2024 Athlete - Putnam City West

Putnam City West improved to 2-0 on the young season with a win over rival Putnam City North on Friday night. Senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1041938' first='Jordan' last='Warrior'] is one of the more underrated athletes in the 2024 class and he showed it again in week one. He had 87 receiving yards and a touchdown and then had two interceptions with one that he took back for six.

[player_tooltip player_id='211234' first='Ravian' last='Larry'] - 2025 Running Back - Idabel

2A's #4 Idabel opened their 2023 football season in style with a dominant win over Kingston on Friday night. Star junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='211234' first='Ravian' last='Larry'] could not be stopped on Friday night as he put up monster numbers in the win. He had nearly 175 yards and five touchdowns on just 12 carries.
