has been one of the toughest 2025 prospects to evaluate on a year to year basis. When he’s on the field, he’s one of the best running backs in this class. But the last two seasons saw Larry deal with lingering injuries and he was never really 100 percent. This season, we’ve seen him closer to that and he made another jump up the rankings and similar to Hurt at Lawton Eisenhower, he should definitely be considered one of the top running backs in this class. He burst onto the scene as a freshman during the 2021 season. He’s getting back to the production that we saw early on in his career. Look for Larry to be a big part of what Idabel does in the playoffs in the next month in Class 3A.

has to be hungry to get this season started. He was a breakout star during his freshman season. It was evident very early on in his career that he was going to be one of the better running backs in his respective class. But nagging injuries in 2022 and 2023 would really limit the impact that Larry could have on the football field for the Warriors. Despite that, Idabel was able to make the run they made in 2023. Now, if Larry is able to stay healthy, it’s going to give this Idabel offense a massive boost. Especially when you consider that they’ll have a new quarterback this fall, having that reliable presence in the running game will help.

is in a similar boat to Knighten, Robinson and Hurt. He’s looking to have a full senior season where he isn’t bitten by the injury bug. After an outstanding freshman season in 2021, it looked like Larry was going to be an absolute star for the Warriors. While he’s still been one of their best players over the last few seasons, there’s no doubt that injuries have limited the impact that he has been able to have. When healthy, Larry is right there with some of the other top running backs in the state. Idabel could have a very special 2024 season and if he’s healthy, look for Larry to get back to the standout that we saw a few years ago.

We’ll write this as many times as we have to until people start paying attention to what’s happening in southeastern Oklahoma. Idabel has some DUDES and they are going to be a fun team to watch this season and next. Running back

enjoyed a breakout season as a freshman and then backed that up with another stellar season last fall as a sophomore. Despite dealing with nagging injuries, Larry ran for over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns and led Idabel to the quarterfinal round. But that was last season and Larry and the Warriors are hungry for a much deeper run in the playoffs. They’ve been a top five team in Class 2A all season but there’s no doubt that this is one of the deeper and more competitive classes in the state. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Larry in the future.

We mentioned how Idabel’s star running back dealt with nagging injuries throughout the 2022 season. Despite that, 2025 running back

finished with over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns. It was the second straight season where Larry finished with at least 1,000 yards and had double digit touchdowns on the season. We think that Larry is one of the best running backs in the state’s 2025 class and if he has a full season of health in front of him, he could not only reach 1,000 yards on the ground but it’s not out of the realm of possibility for him to go for 1,500 or even 2,000 yards on the ground. He’s enjoyed a breakout season as a freshman, injury-plagued year as a sophomore and is hoping his junior season leads to a deep run in the playoffs.

has been on our radar since his freshman season. Larry had a great freshman campaign and then came back for even more last fall. But Larry was somewhat limited as a sophomore because of a nagging injury. We got a chance to see Larry in person just once last season and we could definitely see signs of him being the game changing running back that earns him this high ranking. Larry is waiting for his recruitment to really take off but we think that it could be coming soon. We really like Idabel this season and specifically the offensive side of the ball with all the skill players they bring back. As we mentioned earlier this year, Larry could definitely be a 2,000 yard rusher as long as he has a healthy junior season.

. This guy really impressed us during his freshman season and nothing has really slowed that momentum down over the last 18 months. The only thing that has slowed down Larry was a nagging injury during the 2022 season. It seemed like the Idabel standout could never get his own momentum during his sophomore season and was definitely not at 100 percent at various points throughout the season. Otherwise, Idabel would have been a real threat in the Class 2A race. Despite that, they still found a way to the quarterfinals and as they go into 2023, with Larry back and a wealth of skill talent on offense returning, we like Idabel to be a true contender. If Larry is healthy this fall, we think that he can be a 2,000+ yard rusher.
