is the veteran leader. And there’s not a better example of that than last week when Marr led the Ada defense as they completely shut down Clinton’s offense in the second half. Marr finished the game with nearly 20 tackles on the night. Marr has been one of the top linebackers in Class 4A all season and he gets another opportunity to shine on Friday night. In addition to being lights out on defense, don’t overlook Marr getting into the game on offense as a power runner.

Ada was right there in the mix all season as one of the top teams in Class 4A. They come into the playoffs with a 9-1 record and the only blemish was in a district title showdown with Poteau. The Cougars have a few young players that we have an eye on moving forward but the spotlight here is going on senior

at the linebacker position and he also helps the Cougars in certain situations at running back. Marr is one of the better linebackers in Class 4A and whenever they need a power runner near the goal line or in other short yardage situations, he’s proven to be a big asset.

We mentioned earlier how the Ada defense was going to be the strength of this year’s team, especially early on. And that the linebackers and front seven were going to be lights out. 2024 linebacker

is a big reason behind that. We broke down Marr’s game this offseason in our “Friday Film Review” series and he was one of the more impressive linebackers in the 2024 class that we broke down. He was very productive last season and seemed to be the energizer bunny of the Ada defense. He’s your prototypical inside or middle linebacker and has the ability to really impact an opponent’s running game. Ada has a few linebackers that we really like and Marr is just one of them. We think that the Cougars are going to really shut some opponents down with this lights out defense.

Fisher Mar recorded good numbers in the L-Drill. He had the best time out of all of the linebackers. Standing at 6’0, he recorded a time of 7.56. His second attempt was the best time, being 7.34. It was impressive seeing him perform.

When I think of Ada, I always think about the inside linebackers that they turn out year after year. Our first look at a 2024 Friday film review happens to be with Marr out of Ada. Marr is a good-looking inside linebacker that can run sideline to sideline with a motor. He never took a play off in film I evaluated as he constantly had good eyes and never slowed down from the backside. His reads are what impresses me overall as he gets downhill and attacks the ball carrier. Marr gets off the blocks and doesn’t hesitate in making the play. Marr plays inside out and does a good job of reading the inside hip to make the play. At 6’1″ and 195 pounds Marr should be able to find a place to play at the next level at backer.
