Every Friday throughout the regular season on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we're going to add three names to the Player Of The Year Watchlist. Be sure to check back every Friday to see who gets added to the Player Of The Year Watchlist and what the current watchlist players have done this season. This year's winner will be the fourth winner in our website's short history. The previous three winners were all juniors, including last year, but we have not had a repeat winner yet. The road to Edmond continues this week and so does the race for the 2023 PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year award!

The Oklahoma commit is off to an outstanding start this season as he's been one of the more electric players in Class 3A football. So far this season, Thomas has made 21 catches for over 450 yards and seven touchdowns. He had three touchdown receptions in each of Checotah's first two games and then had a touchdown catch and a punt return for a touchdown in their win over Haskell last week. Thomas has also added a kick return for a score this season as he's racking up the points in a hurry. Thomas is hoping to be a big part of Checotah surprising some teams in Class 3A this season. The OU commit had an outstanding summer and became an elite prospect and he's backing it up with a strong start this fall.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["379243"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Class A defending champion Fairview is off to a 3-0 start and junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='379243' first='Jax' last='Bernard'] is a big part of that. The Yellowjackets have been lighting up the scoreboard on offense and Bernard has put up some monster numbers as the defending champs have now won 18 games in a row. Bernard had a great game last week as he threw for just over 300 yards and four touchdowns and ran for nearly 100 yards and a touchdown. Bernard has been incredibly efficient in the passing game and has thrown for nearly 750 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season. And as Fairview works in a new running back, Bernard has shown the ability to pick up the slack in the running game with over 200 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. They have this week off but Bernard has the champs looking in title form already.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["110743"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Bixby is without question the top football team and program in the state of Oklahoma right now. And what's impressive is this is a complete team that doesn't have one dominant player. We've seen that in the past with the Presley brothers but this year's Bixby team has a wealth of talent and not one player that racks up the numbers. But there is no doubt that senior [player_tooltip player_id='110743' first='Kordell' last='Gouldsby'] is the most electric player out there for the Spartans. This season, he already has three rushing touchdowns, a receiving touchdown and two punt returns for touchdown. In last week's win over Sand Springs, Gouldsby scored touchdowns by rushing, receiving and on a punt return. He also had an interception on defense. We knew Gouldsby was electric but he has continued to raise the bar of expectations through three games.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":3,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-65033cf4bdc67"} /-->
