Throughout the month of February, we’ve been updating the prospect rankings in Oklahoma. We started with the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2022-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>2022 class</strong></a> and then we updated the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2023-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>2023 rankings with our new Top 125</strong></a>. After that it was time to have an updated look at the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2024-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>2024 Top 50.</strong></a> And we finished up the month by debuting our first ever <a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2025-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>2025 rankings with the Top 25</strong></a>. After each ranking update, we’ll also have several posts breaking down the prospects. In this post, we take a look at the top ten prospects from the 2025 ranking update.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>1) [player_tooltip player_id="211234" first="Ravian" last="Larry"] - Running Back - Idabel</strong></span>
It was going to take a lot for someone else other than Idabel running back [player_tooltip player_id="211234" first="Ravian" last="Larry"] to be in the top spot of our initial 2025 rankings. While it was close between Larry and the next two prospects, we had to give the edge to the Idabel sensation. We first found out about Larry in late September and into early October. After throwing on the tape, it was apparent that Larry would be not only an impact player, but he would be one of the best players in the state over the next few seasons. The combination of size and speed is hard to ignore. Larry has already gotten onto college radars and earned his spot as the top dog in the state’s 2025 class from the start.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>2) [player_tooltip player_id="192928" first="Ryan" last="Grayson"] - Running Back - Beggs</strong></span>
Here’s what Beggs running back [player_tooltip player_id="192928" first="Ryan" last="Grayson"] did as a freshman when it comes to running the ball. He finished with nearly 900 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. What’s scary about those numbers? He was third on the depth chart. He split time with OSU signee [player_tooltip player_id="38669" first="CJ" last="Brown"] and 2024 #1 overall prospect [player_tooltip player_id="110739" first="Red" last="Martel"] for carries out of the backfield. As if that wasn’t enough, he also ended up having eight interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. So it could be true that Grayson is more of an athlete but we can’t wait to see what he and Martel do as arguably the top running back duo in the state starting this fall. In our opinion, Grayson was the top freshman in the state in 2021, regardless of position.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>3) [player_tooltip player_id="209872" first="David" last="McComb"] - Quarterback - Edmond Memorial</strong></span>
The third prospect that had a legitimate claim to be the top overall prospect in our initial 2025 rankings was Edmond Memorial quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="209872" first="David" last="McComb"]. The young Bulldog QB took over the quarterback spot near the halfway point of his freshman season and never let it go. We got a chance to see McComb throw the ball around when he came to our camp in January. On a very windy day, McComb was delivering dimes and cutting right through the wind. We walked away incredibly impressed with McComb. While Edmond Memorial struggled in the win-loss category, we believe that this young and talented Bulldog team will be a dark horse in Class 6A-1 over the next few seasons.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>4) [player_tooltip player_id="211549" first="DJ" last="Strother"] - Linebacker - Beggs</strong></span>
In a top ten absolutely full of offensive players, especially at the skill positions, one of the top defenders that stood out to us in our initial rankings of the 2025 class was Beggs linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="211549" first="DJ" last="Strother"]. Give the Golden Demons not one, but two prospects that made it into the top four of our initial rankings as Strother and Grayson are two of the absolute best. But when you take a look at Strother, whether it’s in person or on tape, it’s incredibly hard not to be impressed with the young backer when it comes to the physical department. Strother already looks the part and as he continues to gain confidence at the varsity level, he has the chance to go wire to wire as the top LB in the 2025 class.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>5) [player_tooltip player_id="188014" first="Shaker" last="Reisig"] - Quarterback - Jenks</strong></span>
Out of all the 2025 prospects in the state, the one that that most people across Oklahoma knew about before the 2021 season began was Jenks quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="188014" first="Shaker" last="Reisig"]. Easy to be known when you already have a D1 offer before you step foot into high school. That was the case for Reisig as he was offered during the summer before his freshman season. Reisig would win the starting job and certainly looked the part throughout his freshman campaign. Reisig is methodical with the ball and very rarely makes a mistake. If the young Trojan adds a few inches to his height, he’ll be one of the more sought after quarterbacks in this part of the country.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">6) [player_tooltip player_id="211568" first="Jesse" last="Jones"] - Offensive Lineman - Jenks</span></strong>
And right behind one Jenks Trojan is another with offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="211568" first="Jesse" last="Jones"]. He’ll be blocking for Reisig over the next few seasons. And while just about every headline about the Jenks freshmen were surrounded around Reisig, one underrated part of their 2021 season was Jones starting as a freshman on the offensive line. As rare as Reisig starting at QB was, you also don’t see too many freshmen cracking the starting line up on the line of scrimmage. Jones played primarily at the guard position as he still has plenty of room to grow over the next few seasons. But as for right now, he’s clearly the top offensive lineman in this class.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">7) [player_tooltip player_id="188013" first="Demarius" last="Robinson"] - Running Back - Edmond Santa Fe</span></strong>
Running backs [player_tooltip player_id="211234" first="Ravian" last="Larry"] and [player_tooltip player_id="192928" first="Ryan" last="Grayson"] might be in the top two spots of the 2025 rankings but no freshman running back had a better season last fall than Edmond Santa Fe’s [player_tooltip player_id="188013" first="Demarius" last="Robinson"]. From the very start of the season, Robinson was Santa Fe’s go-to running back and he made his presence felt each and every week. With a strong freshman season under his belt, it’s very believable that Robinson could end up holding every rushing record at Edmond Santa Fe when his career comes to a close. With Santa Fe losing a lot of production from their passing game to graduation, look for Robinson to step up in a big way in 2022.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>8) [player_tooltip player_id="211560" first="CJ" last="Simon"] - Athlete - Moore</strong></span>
Moore has yet another versatile athlete that’s going to give the Lions an impact player at a variety of spots moving forward. First it was Hishaw a few years ago. Then Dockins filled that role that last two seasons. Now it appears that CJ Moore might be the next highlight player for Moore moving forward. As a freshman, Simon got plenty of reps at the varsity level and would split carries with Dockins at running back. And like Dockins, Simon has that athletic ability and versatility to be used in several different ways moving forward. While Moore will have a new head coach moving forward, the blueprint is already in place to use Simon in a variety of ways to have success offensively.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>9) [player_tooltip player_id="268315" first="AJ" last="Lyons-Jerrell"] - Running Back - Pocola</strong></span>
Another running back and specifically another small town running back that made it into the top ten was Pocola running back [player_tooltip player_id="268315" first="AJ" last="Lyons-Jerrell"]. While we knew about [player_tooltip player_id="209872" first="David" last="McComb"] going into our camp, we did not know anything about the Pocola standout before our camp in January. And that’s another reason why we love having those events. It gets our eyes on other prospects that we haven’t heard of and not only gets them on our radar but high up on the radar. After a strong camp in January, we went back and watched the tape and Jerrell is easily one of the top playmakers in the state right now. He won’t be a secret for very long.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>10) [player_tooltip player_id="294260" first="SanTanna" last="Landon"] - Defensive Back - Carl Albert</strong></span>
Our final prospect in the top ten is Carl Albert defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="294260" first="SanTanna" last="Landon"]. He is one of several Carl Albert Titans to make the initial rankings for the 2025 class. While Carl Albert’s championship run came to an end in 2021, don’t think for a second that the Titans won’t be right back in the mix for a gold ball in 2022. In fact, led by Landon and a few other young Titans, Carl Albert has the potential to begin another dynasty-like run, leading to more state championships for the Titans. Landon is another rare defensive prospect within this top ten. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Landon this offseason as he’s currently the top DB in the 2025 class.
