Throughout the month of February, we’ve been updating the prospect rankings in Oklahoma. We started with the 2022 class and then we updated the 2023 rankings with our new Top 125. After that it was time to have an updated look at the 2024 Top 50. And we finished up the month by debuting our first ever 2025 rankings with the Top 25. After we released the 2025 rankings, we put a spotlight on the Top Ten Prospects. In this post, we take a look at five prospects that were outside of the top ten in the initial 2025 rankings but they’re certainly going to be prospects to watch moving forward.

– Running Back – Choctaw
Ranked #18 Overall
Choctaw certainly has high expectations coming into the 2022 football season as Bixby departs for 6A-1 and the Yellowjackets plan on being the new top dog in 6A-2. They will certainly have plenty of firepower on the offensive side of the ball. Adding more depth to Choctaw’s offense in 2021 was freshman running back JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5'8" | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK . Better known as “JuJu”, the electric freshman had a stellar season in 2021 and will more than likely be asked to do even more this fall. Combining Smith with 2023 running back La’Trell Ray La’Trell Ray 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Choctaw | 2023 State OK , the Yellowjackets will have a dynamic duo in the backfield. Add those two alongside 2023 quarterback Steele Wasel Steele Wasel 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Choctaw | 2023 State OK and it’s very easy to see why the Yellowjackets might have one of the better offenses in 6A-2 this fall. Smith is similar to Ray where he’s an electric playmaker out of the backfield and is only getting better every time he steps on the field.
Felix Teal

Laverne | 2025
State
OK
– Athlete – Laverne
Ranked #23 Overall
We’ll be the first to admit that we don’t have much coverage of 8-man football throughout the year. But it’s not very often that an 8-man prospect is considered one of the best playmakers in his class. That’s the case with Laverne standout running back Felix Teal Felix Teal 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Laverne | 2025 State OK , who is just that. He’s one of the best playmakers in the state’s 2025 class and is coming off a fantastic freshman season where he helped lead Laverne to a state championship. Whether it was carrying the ball or returning kicks, Teal was a highlight play waiting to happen. His vision is very impressive for a young prospect and he’s an absolute bowling ball of a runner. He very rarely went down in 1 on 1 situations. He has deceptive speed in the open field and he might just be scratching the surface of the type of player he could be. It’s always hard to compare 8-man prospects to 11-man prospects but Teal has earned his spot in the conversation.
Jamarian Ficklin

Muskogee | 2025

– Quarterback – Muskogee
Ranked #11 Overall
The first of two quarterbacks on this list is Muskogee 2025 quarterback Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK . The lefty caught our attention early on in the 2021 season, before the regular season even began. Ficklin was making plays with his arm during a scrimmage and was incredibly impressive on arm talent alone. Ficklin would go on to lead the Roughers throughout the 2021 football season and was one of the better passers in 6A-2 football. While the 2025 class already has some highly rated quarterbacks, you have to include Ficklin in that conversation based on the year he had and the ceiling that he has as a prospect. We’ve already been on the record multiple times this offseason that we believe Muskogee is about to blow up in a big way over the next few years with all the young talent the Roughers have. Leading that group is Ficklin who has a year under his belt and appears ready to take that next step.
Malikai Miller

5'11" | 170 lbs | QB
Moore | 2025

– Quarterback – Edmond Santa Fe
Ranked #14 Overall
Out of the five prospects on this list, we have to put Edmond Santa Fe quarterback Malikai Miller Malikai Miller 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Moore | 2025 State OK at the top of the list in terms of prospects we can’t wait to see this offseason and going into the 2022 season. And that’s not a knock on the other four prospects, it’s simply because we haven’t seen Miller under the Friday night lights yet. Miller is a very talented dual-threat quarterback that already has plenty of people around Edmond talking about his potential leading this Santa Fe offense. If Miller takes over the Santa Fe offense this fall, he’ll have help in the backfield with fellow 2025 prospect Demarius Robinson Demarius Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Edmond Santa Fe | 2025 State OK coming off a fantastic freshman season. With Miller’s athletic ability and Robinson at running back, the Wolves could look completely different moving forward on the offensive side of the ball with those two playmakers in the backfield. Clearly we’re excited about the potential here.
Trey Washington

Carl Albert | 2025
State

– Athlete – Carl Albert
Ranked #12 Overall
Right behind Malikai Miller Malikai Miller 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Moore | 2025 State OK is Carl Albert’s Trey Washington Trey Washington 6'3" | WR Carl Albert | 2025 State OK in terms of prospects we can’t wait to watch this offseason. We’ve mentioned this before, but every time we do a ranking update, it doesn’t take long for us to realize we didn’t have a player ranked high enough. With the 2025 class, it took less than 12 hours to realize that Trey Washington Trey Washington 6'3" | WR Carl Albert | 2025 State OK should have definitely been a top ten prospect. After watching more film and talking Carl Albert head coach Mike Dunn, it’s clear that Washington is not only a top ten prospect, but he has the chance to be one of the top overall prospects in this class. He had a fantastic freshman campaign and the Titans are planning on opening him up even more in their offense this fall. The training wheels are coming off and Washington could be an absolute monster at the tight end/wide receiver position for the Titans. Right now he’s #12 overall, he might be top five in the next update.
