We mentioned earlier in the preview that Moore got a key move-in during the summer last year at the quarterback position.

is that guy and he’s a prospect that has really impressed us at our offseason camps in the past but last season, he put it all together. He earned the nod as QB1 of the Lions and became one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in 6A-1 football and we don’t really think that’s up for debate. Miller produced in a big way as a passer and as a runner and is looking to finish off his high school career with a big senior season. Miller has also emerged as a legitimate D1 prospect as an overall athlete and after last season, we can see why.

also moved last summer and provided an instant impact to his team. Miller moved to Moore from Edmond Santa Fe, won the QB1 job and had a strong junior season. It was cut short at the end with an injury but we liked what we saw last fall and are fired up to see what he looks like in 2024. Watching Miller on film, you see a terrific athlete in the backfield that doesn’t just lean on his athletic ability like a crutch. Miller always keeps his eyes down field and is trying to torch defenses with his arm before tucking the ball and taking off. And Miller has an absolute rocket launcher attached to his shoulder. One of the first few passes on his junior tape was a 60-yard bomb in the end zone. Miller has good vision and anticipation and that helps make him one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the state. As a passer, he anticipates what the defense is doing and puts the ball where his receiver is going to be. As a runner, he has excellent vision downfield and it was rare that defenses got a clean shot on him. It’s very clear watching him that he has some very natural abilities. If Miller continues to progress like he did last fall, his recruitment should take off.Access all of Prep Redzone

It’s time for the annual “Moore War” between the Lions and rival Westmoore on Friday night to open district play. Moore is off to a 3-0 start for the third consecutive season but the last two years finished with them on the outside looking in on the playoffs. Now, the Lions are hungry to finish the job and step one is beating Westmoore on Friday night. Junior quarterback

has had a great start to the 2023 season. After moving over from Edmond Santa Fe during the summer, Miller established himself as an absolute playmaker in the Moore offense. He’s thrown for four touchdowns and leads the team with five touchdowns on the ground. Moore’s first three wins were decided by a combined seven points. We could see another close one play out this week.

, who moved to Moore this summer from Edmond Santa Fe, had a very strong start to his junior season. He finished with over 200 yards passing and a touchdown as well as 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Miller was hurt as a sophomore and also played a few different positions. He’s earned the starting role with the Lions and he is off to a very fast start so far this season. Miller has impressed us in camp settings in the past and now he’s translating that to success on Friday nights.

Edmond Santa Fe took a step back in 2022 but there is reason to be optimistic with some of the young and talented players that they have, especially on the offensive side of the ball. 2025 athlete

is one of those names and his sophomore season was cut short to injury. And we listed him just now as an athlete instead of a quarterback because after watching the film, it’s hard to just call him a quarterback. The athleticism just flies off the film when you watch Miller last season. When he tucks the ball and takes off and runs, it is really impressive to watch. Miller also got a few reps at wide receiver and it will be interesting to see how Edmond Santa Fe uses him moving forward. Because he got injured, they also played another quarterback last season and we’re assuming that they will have a quarterback battle this spring and summer. But for Miller specifically, we want to see more from him in the passing game. He took the first step at our camp last month when he was one of the top quarterbacks in attendance. We’re looking forward to seeing more of him this spring and summer.

set the showcase on fire, both with drills and his performance in the 1 on 1. He was named the top quarterback at the showcase. In the shuttle drill, he showed off his ability to have speed and shiftiness by posting times of 4.41 and 4.43. He is in the class of 2025 and did not see the field too much this past season. He has talent and the intangibles to be great. That is why he is already ranked #100 in the state and #13 out of all quarterbacks for his class. He will be worth monitoring as he gets closer to his senior year and receives more opportunities.

earned MVP honors with a complete performance from start to finish. What’s really impressive about Miller’s performance on Saturday was the fact that he’s a dual-threat quarterback that was only using his arm to make play after play. He ran some solid times during the testing portion of the camp but during individual drills and 1 on 1’s, it was all about his arm and his ability to throw the ball downfield. It was a close race between Miller and some of the other top quarterbacks in attendance but Miller’s performance late in the camp put things over the top and allowed him to walk away with MVP honors for the quarterback position.
