BOOKER T WASHINGTON 51, SOUTHMOORE 7 (THURS.)
Once Booker T Washington got rolling on offense, nothing was slowing down the Hornets in their 51-7 blowout victory over Southmoore. The Hornets opened the year with a big win on the road, led by junior quarterback Lathan Boone Lathan Boone 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK , who threw for a pair of touchdowns and also ran for another touchdown in the win. Booker T Washington also had five different players finish with a rushing touchdown.

BETHANY 27, JONES 14
Bethany began their “Revenge Tour” with a big road win over Jones on Friday night, winning 27-14. Bethany had a big goal line stop near the end of the first half that kept their lead secure going into halftime. They would add two more touchdowns in the second half and their defense would do a fantastic job limiting what Jones did on offense on Friday.

COWETA 35, BISHOP McGUINNESS 28
Speaking of revenge, Coweta got some revenge on Friday as they took down Bishop McGuinness on the road with a 35-28 victory. The Tigers had lost to McGuinness in the 5A quarterfinals a year ago and that certainly left a sour taste in their mouth. Coweta is a serious contender for the 5A gold ball and they got their season off to a great start by taking down one of 5A’s best.

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 52, BEGGS 14
Beggs led 6-0 after one quarter but it was all Lincoln Christian after that. While the Golden Demons were struggling with short possessions, penalties and turnovers, Lincoln would score on eight straight possessions to put the game away by the end of the third quarter. Senior quarterback Max Brown Max Brown 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Lincoln Christian | 2022 State OK had a spectacular night throwing and running the ball as he finished with three passing touchdowns and two touchdowns on the ground.

METRO CHRISTIAN 41, CHECOTAH 21
Two-time defending 2A champ Metro Christian started off their pursuit of a potential three-peat with a 20-point victory over Checotah. The game was messy at times but that’s to be expected when two evenly matched teams square off in the first game of the year. However, the Patriots were too talented and put up the points to coast to the 20-point win.

OWASSO 45, EDMOND SANTA FE 22
Owasso’s offense could be the best in the state and they showed why yet again on Friday as they went on the road and took down #4 Edmond Santa Fe 45-22. Senior wide receiver Kelan Carney Kelan Carney 6'0" | WR Owasso | 2022 State OK was the star of the game with three touchdown receptions as the Rams could do just about whatever they wanted on the offensive side of the ball.
