A valiant second half effort to close a 41-7 halftime deficit came up short and the Wildcats fell to 0-1 on the season. The recap of that game can be found HERE. The recap of Friday night’s game features the biggest turning point, the player of the game, some quotes and a look ahead at what’s next for both teams. In this scouting report we will take a look at the stand out players for the Wildcats and what their prospects could be like at the next level.
Trenton Dan – 2022 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Though the MCA defense made things very tough on the Checotah offense all night long, Trenton really stood out as a tremendous pass catching target. Trenton is a 6’0″ receiver with good size and 4.5 40-yard speed. He is not only blazing fast, he showed great hands in adjusting to a couple of hard to catch balls. As the game tightened up late and the Checotah defense needed a big play, Trenton also racked up a sack. Dan played great man coverage all night and apart from a few lapses, showed a lot of ability on the defensive end. Trenton projects as a very good college wideout with great speed, good separation and very, very good hands.
Omarion Warrior Omarion Warrior 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Checotah | 2022 OK – 2022 Offensive/Defensive Lineman
Omarion is a tremendous tackle. He consistently cleared his man out of the play to make room for running back Dontierre Fisher Dontierre Fisher 6'0" | RB Checotah | 2022 State OK (and others) to work. Often Warrior could be found at the second level after pancaking his man and then heading off to engage a linebacker. Somehow he remained a high motor player the entire game despite playing on both sides of the ball at a very high level. Warrior even racked up a sack later in the game. The 6’3″, 300-lb. lineman currently holds offers from Central Oklahoma and Central Arkansas. AS his senior season continues, he may see a few more as coaches in the region realize just what a talented road-grater this young man truly is. As Warrior goes, so goes the high-powered running offense of the WIldcats and the offensive line will begin to get the recognition they deserve.
Dontierre Fisher Dontierre Fisher 6'0" | RB Checotah | 2022 State OK – 2022 Running Back
Speaking of Dontierre, he is a pretty darn good running back. Though he had a tough time getting it going at the start of the game, he came on strong in the second half and showed some definite ability to break tackles as needed. His speed is unquestioned, but his strength is a big part of his game as he threw aside would be tacklers with seeming ease. Fisher runs a 4.5 40-yard and was seen several times in the game absolutely smoking the defenders who were on his tail, proving that his speed is functional as well. There is a reason that Fisher has a LOT of D-I offers from big time football schools such as Kansas State and Nebraska. He is a legitimate three-star running back and will most definitively be a great player at the next level.
